I love you and miss you as much today, as I ever have. Today I will celebrate your birthday in my own way...but it was always much better to celebrate it with you. I miss your laugh, smile, guidance, and kind words. I wish you were here to share with my family...they will never really know just how much they are missing out...

I will be vigilant...I hope that you will be too. I don't want to end up like Spain...or Cuba. Get a clue people, charisma alone will not fix the course of The United States of America. We are in for a long haul where the effect of regulation of industry and commerce by our government will certainly drive the cost of current goods through the roof, because that is what it always does.
I hereby serve notice to all of you, my fellow Americans, that we need to remain vigilant, as our resources (that's goods, services, and manpower) are dissected, by foreign interests, like the wealthy China , Japan, and Middle East OPEC power mongers continue to gobble up our resources (industry) and land. We will need to FORCE our elected officials to fight for OUR rights. Not the rights of
China will never invade the US, nor will they nuke us....they wouldn't want to harm their property or the people who are buying their goods.
Now, back to the current issues at hand:
Unemployment-jobs will continue to be shipped overseas as the cost of doing business here in the USA is too expensive (people are demanding too much pay for too little value, skill, all while demanding better benefits, yet productivity is down. We may have invented industry but complacency and a false sense of entitlement have allowed every other industrialized nation to surpass us in efficiency and quality... therefore destroying our ability to compete in the global market.
This, and this alone is why we no longer have the leverage to be the "Big Kid On The Block" globally. Our wealth has been whittled away by a minority...a minority that wants more, but does not want to work harder for it.
The Athiests took God out of government and schools, and in turn want to take away the majority's right to even celebrate Christmas freely. That's right, soon there will be no freedom to utter God, Jesus, and even say "Merry Christmas" on the street...because it will offend someone who doesn't share your beliefs. That litigious streak in our country that athiests have has undermined the very reason The United States came to be in the first place: The Right to worship God as you see fit. 10 Percent of the population (Athiests and Non-Christians) are pushing out the very God that was a driving force in the birthing of our beloved nation.
Foreign born citizens are even demanding that The Pledge of Allegiance be banned, because God is uttered in it (Not their God)...and they also want us to teach things in their native tongues.
I'm sorry, but Fu** that!!! You've come to the USA because your homeland is a piece of shit! If US money is good enough for you to earn and spend; if the US Military that protects you is good enough to protect you and your rights; and if our national language is English and it's good enough for us, you'd better learn it, live it, and love it or go elsewhere.
This country was founded by a belief that God/freedonm of religion is an integral part of life, and English is OUR native language, so if you are enjoying the rights and privileges that these United States of America afford you, you'd better not piss on what it was founded by.
No one who stormed the beaches of Normandy, June 6th, 1944 was asking Allah for strength in an Arabic dialect. No Sailor I know of was calling on Buddha for the strength to save his shipmates on December 7th, 1941 in Pearl Harbor in Cantonese.
Yet English speaking Americans died liberating the Arabic nations oppressed by Nazi German and Italian forces so that they could worship their Allah. Similar English Speaking soldiers, sailors, and airmen from The United States also pushed Japanese oppressors out of China, where genocide against the Chinese was occurring during WWII.
These same Arabic nations who now seek to destroy us...these same communists who'd deny us the very freedoms we helped them obtain in WWII...remember that folks, when they come for your guns, jobs, and your rights. Better find your faith, your conviction, and educate yourself before it's too late.
Because if you don't believe in and stand for anything, you'll fall to your knees for anything.
These are my thought and opinions. Far too many better men and women (better than you and I) have died for my right to express these opinions, and I honor them by expressing them, and fighting to continue to do so. Try that in the Baltic States, Middle East, China, Rwanda, Ethiopia, Spain, Cuba, Serbia, etc. If you speak out there, a mob will rob you, burn your ass in the town square, and hang you on the city gates.
God Bless America
Jeff GoodP.S. It would seem as though I have a bunch of people jumping to all sorts of conclusions based on my li' printed opinion here today. So, as a rebuttal to those who are confused, misguided, and as a clarification to all (agree with me, hate my effin guts, or just idly standing by taking it all in):A) I'm a (well, I was a) staunch born and raised Democrat. I however have lost faith in ALL politicians, and I would have issued the same statements/opinions above regardless of who our country elected. I don't trust them, they do not impress me, and likely I will never trust them again between now and my death.B) I am the furthest thing from a racist (although no one has sacked up to tell me that they thought so, I know some silly Fokker(s) out there was(are) thinking that) and I have a pretty damn good track record to prove it (college friends, roomates, current friends, colleagues, students, and neighbors). So, if you want to drop that card, pick it up right now and stuff it up your misguided ass. Every human being starts off with 100 percent of my respect, until they do something to to lose it. Anyone who's paid attention to me over any period of time would know that.I've admired many men and women of color for many different reasons throughout my life, and will continue to recognize the positive accomplishments of all humanity, regardless of race, creed, color, or NFL team affiliation.C) In every presidential election I have been eligible to partake in, I have voted my EDUCATED opinion. Sadly, when I have dug deeply into every candidates record, I have been profoundly disappointed. The same applies for governors, most senators, and most congressional candidates.Yet I continue to vote, and voice my opinions. As stated above, I honor those who've fought for my rights, as well as the rights of all my fellow Americans to speak freely, to worship without prejudice, and to vote. Did I say anything about any candidate in particular in the previous statements? NO, I did not...D) Which brings me to my final clarification: Vigilance, by definition means:vigilance Dictionary.com Unabridged (v 1.1) - Cite This Source - Share This vig⋅i⋅lance .. type="text/javascript"> var interfaceflash = new LEXICOFlashObject ( "http://cache.lexico.com/d/g/speaker.swf", "speaker", "60", "18", "..", "6"); interfaceflash.addParam("loop", "false"); interfaceflash.addParam("quality", "high"); interfaceflash.addParam("menu", "false"); interfaceflash.addParam("salign", "t"); interfaceflash.addParam("FlashVars", "soundUrl=http%3A%2F%2Fcache.lexico.com%2Fdictionary%2Faudio%2Fluna%2FV01%2FV0125700.mp3"); interfaceflash.write(); ..>..> ..> /ˈvɪdʒ ə ləns/ Show Spelled Pronunciation [vij-uh-luh ns] Show IPA Pronunciation –noun ..tr> | 1. | state or quality of being vigilant; watchfulness: Vigilance is required in the event of treachery. | ..table> ..tr> | 2. | Pathology. insomnia. | ..table> Merriam-Webster's Medical Dictionary - Cite This Source - Share This Main Entry: vig·i·lance Pronunciation: 'vij-&-l&n(t)s Function: noun : the quality or state of being wakeful and alert : degree of wakefulness or responsiveness to stimuli —vig·i·lant /-l&nt/ adjective
Now that I've handled the formalities, here's the rub people: "Always question authority; always do your homework-research your candidate's history and track record; choose substance over style."
That is my wish and my advice to all of you.
I pray for the world to flourish in peace and harmony. To experience a new renaissance of cultural highs, to extinguish disease and suffering. But until that utopian dream is realized WE are responsible for our own fate in THIS, the greatest country on Earth because we do have the power. The tools to educate ourselves are available, we just have to work for them and use them to the best of our ability.

Would you rather work in Mongolia for 6 Months or Brazil indefinitely? Which would you pick?
Seriously, "who the F" comes up with these jobs? Thankfully, my company will probably NOT bid low enough to get the work. But They are bidding on them.
You wanna know who? The French. F the French and their wine sippin, cheese chompin',"we don't wanna get our panties soiled in a third world country" ways! They ALWAYS look to the US to do their dirty work, ie; WWI, WWII, Vietnam, The Cold War, Every Islamic Terrorist Threat, and now this.

Well, there's more tough news in the Good family today...Brenda's Father's health, (he's been in and out of the hospital quite a bit the past year), has taken a turn for the worse...
There's talk today of hospice if/when he's able to leave the hospital. Brenda is understandably inconsolable, the kids are upset, and I'm asking all you all to keep them and the rest of their family in your thoughts and prayers.
We were going to be headed to Maryland on July 10th for Toni and Jason's wedding (Toni is B's sister), but now it looks like B and Sierra may be taking off as soon as we can get the cash together to get them down there...it's the logistics...money, time, her job (she's going to see if Macy's will grant her a temporary transfer to their Towson store. If not, B will be seeking some other short term employment solutions to make being there with her family possible) I'd ask that all pray for something to work out in this area as well. Times are tough enough as it is.
We're far from down and out, but this just saps the life out of you when things start to get better, and "life" keeps throwing things at you. I've already lost an aunt, uncle, and grandmother this year. The weight of this will surely test us, but with the love and support from our friends and family, we will get by.
One last thing, and this is as heartfelt and sincere as I can can be my friends: Smoking is the cause of Brenda's Father's demise. Plain and simple my friends, it will kill you. Please find a way to quit, I'm sick of cancer, emphysema, and the other minions of cigarette smoke claiming the lives of those that I love.
God Bless,
Jeff

I'm convinced, there's a conspiracy in the NHL against Detroit.
The announcers all verbally "stroke and suck the Penguins off" every chance they can. Not so much love for anyone in Detroit, if ever at all. Pittsbitch is only in it because the NHL wants Sid the Kid to win a cup, on the biggest hockey stage, in the most dramatic fashion, trying to showcase him as the future of the game, the man who carried his team back from being down 3-1.
Bettman is doing it for ratings. Well maybe he shouldn't have scheduled the first three games of the NHL finals against the NBA Eastern Conference Finals. Oh, but the DETROIT Pistons were involved, so FUCK Detroit, is what Bettman was saying...and I know that hockey fans in Boston, like those in Detroit follow most of their teams. So you shot yourself in the foot double, ratings wise again there Mr. Bettman. You won't win over BBall fans to hockey that way.
Shitsburgh doesn't care about the NBA, so it wouldn't effect anything against their fan base. Well guess what Buttman, we in Detroit love all our teams, and we shall prevail...despite your conniving and mischief!
But of the Tons of BS penalties being called, they were only being called against Detroit whenever the Wings were getting the momentum.
What a fucking farce, it's so transparent that the NHL is pushing Sid The Kid as it's poster child that they're willing to sell out any shred of integrity that they had left. That's right, I said HAD!
The douchebag official that tripped up Hudler, who highsticked a Penguin (because he was tripped by said referee)who was being beat going against Hudler for the puck, allowing the 4:00 major penalty costing the Wings the Game, actually had the balls to call it on him. He's on the conspiracy watchlist for sure.
So Fuck you Bettman, you are a fucking asshole!! Maybe the ratings would be better if you didn't pit the NHL Finals vs the NBA's Eastern Conference Finals (which the Detroit Pistons were in) and show what a fucking moron you are!!! Betcha you didn't think of that, did you asshole?
Pittsburgh got away with a ton of clutching, high sticking, and slashing the entire game. So before the Schlitzburgh fans say the amount of penalties called was the same, think about the "timing, nature of, and ridiculousness" of said penatlties called against the Wings AND how many were obviously "missed" against your tired-ass, clutching from being out of gas, flipping mad slasher penguin atrocities to the name of the sport.
Any involved in this conspiracy or those who would deny it exists, well you can suckle my Irish taint!
Goodnight. What a waste of my time to watch the Wings get fucked by Bettman's wet dream of how the NHL should be scripted, I mean be...

My Grandmother on my Mom's side of the family passed away in her home yesterday. No finer woman have I ever known. Nary a disparaging word about anyone did she ever speak. I've never heard her swear or even raise her voice. She was married to a decent man for nearly 50 years before he passed, and she never even considered looking for another one. She was a rare gem, from a completely different era. Always upbeat, positive, and warm, she maintained a wonderful personality and wit, right up until the past few weeks.
If you've ever lived in Eastpointe, or even driven on 9 Mile between Gratiot and Kelly, you would have seen her walking to St Basil's Church on Sundays, or to the corner store for groceries, or just walking because she loved to. She valued her independance and even until this past month when she elected hospice over continuing on her meds, she was a strong willed woman, reluctant to ask for anything.
A God fearing, benevolent soul was she. A kind, yet strong woman, who was the backbone of a large family, one that she held together through thick and thin. You see, my Grandma survived The Great Depression as a young woman in the farmland drought stricken plains in South Dakota from her birth until 1944, when she left all of her family behind, to follow her husband to Detroit, for the promise of good wages and a better quality of life for her growing family (just my Grandpa Tom, my Mom, and my uncle Mike, at the time).
Grandpa was a hardworking man, but one who was an alcoholic, and she raised seven great kids, from 1941 until her death, she was always being a mother (once again, to seven kids), grandmother (12), and a great-grandmother (6). She was a source of consistant love, encouragement, wisdom, strength, kindness, and compassion to all that she knew, and knew her.
My Grandma was predeceased by all her siblings, her husband, and my Mom. She now rightfully will be rejoining them all in Heaven. Yeah, I believe in Heaven, for a person this devout and deserving, there must be one.
Rest In Peace now Grandma, you've more than earned it and you will be missed.
PS: Grandma passed 22 years to the day that my Grandpa died. Coincidence? I think not.

MEMO
TO: Mother Nature FROM: Reverend Good RE: W. T. F .?????
Dear Mother effin' Nature,
As I awoke to the anticipation of a glorious Spring day, crafted by your beautiful , nurturing, loving, and benign hands...I was taken aback by the snow flurries that greeted me. I want to make a few things abundantly clear:
A) April Fool's was two weeks ago, so stop with the "funny stuff."
B) Snow in mid april is funnier if followed by weeks on end of ample sunshine and warmth.
C) Baseball season, tennis season, golf season, softball season, and track season for the kids are already in progress? Do you really want to subject them to this? See em pullin hammies and catching pnuemonia left and right? Or do you, ya evil wench?
D) My yard already is a mess, by delaying my ability o seed it, you whore, you are wrecking mine, and millions of others gardening and lawn care plans.
So listen up, you skanky heartless bitch, go blow Old Man Winter already so he'll stop a'callin', will ya? You know once he's shot his load, he'll sleep it off fo at least six months. And being from Michigan, that's all I can ask for!
Thanks (for nothing so far),
The Reverend Good

Category: Romance and Relationships
Brenda and I were married on Saturday, March 15th. We elected to do a small private ceremony for the wedding for a handful of reasons that I won’t get into here. Outside of our immediate family, very, very few people were in attendance. This was due mainly to the fact that we did it in our new house. It was a living room ceremony, to be more exact. In a 22’ x 12’ space.
When we moved up the date, it raised a ton of questions and: A) No she’s not pregnant,
B) no she’s not marrying me for a visa(she is a US Citizen already), or
C) for my money (LOLOLOLOLOLOL)...
She just wanted to marry me for my sweet personality, good looks (that’s her talking here, not me, LOL), my outlook on life, our similar philosophies about the world, and my great sense of humor. Those reasons are why we fit together perfectly...we totally "get each other." In every possible way.
I couldn’t see myself marrying anyone more beautiful, strong, kind, caring, generous, spontaneous, fun-loving, smart, wise, talented, or compassionate. I hit the freakin’ jackpot this time. In my entire life (and I’m kinda old, so I know what I’m talking about) I never would’ve thought I could be so lucky.
When YOU find that one special someone who "does it for you on every level" you’d better grab onto him/her with both hands and hold on for dear life. Because that, my friends, is what happiness is all about.
Now for those of you that know me, and expected a HUGE deal, you’ll not be disappointed. You will be seeing that down the road in just a lil’ bit. Invitations for "The Shindig of the Season" will be going out within the month for our belated reception. If you feel you’ve impacted our lives in a positive way, you should expect an invitation.
If not, why in the Hell would you think you’d be invited? Life isn’t a popularity contest. If it was a popularity contest, I’d most certainly have failed it by now as I don’t conform, kiss ass, nor am willing to sell out my integrity. It’s cost me plenty in the past, to hold onto my standards, but at least I have them. And that’s worth more than a few dollars or fleeting fun-fame-popularity.
There are a few pics in my photo album. Go and enjoy them if you want to.
Peace and Love,
The Reverend Good
