    CJgrade3SpringPics

CJ's Spring Pics came in but Natalie was absent for Pic day... We forgot about looking into Retake day.

I'm not sure if i mentioned Natalie's first bike crash last night :( I was with CJ on Flynn watching proudly as he rides much better now. Natalie rushed down the hill to surprise us, & i warned her to stop doing the bike tricks. Well, she has abrasions galore, 3 areas, dressed now with my thankfully compulsive first aid duffel bag gear. OK I may have gone a bit overboard, so I hear. She's had her first real injury experience.

I planned to run 3 miler late tonight to complete my Triathaday, but was too busy with dinner, laundry, and YES! Finally finished my online BLS for HCP's tonight! Printed my certif. & now I'm all set for May :)

Unfortunately, the Geothermal piping stuff is ALL OVER THE YARD  for right now, and there is a SIX FOOT hole in out driveway...I can't wait until this is done, & I'm sure my neighbors share the sentiment. I know in the end we will be saving a lot of money and will not need fuel oil, so the mess is worth it. At least that's what i keep telling myself!

    • Natalie's 11th birthday

...and she was upset with CJ, they fought the whole ride to Bugaboos....

      natalieBirthday08Bugaboo

............but once we got to Pier One (one of her favorite stores) she brightened up (as did I). She got the adorable Papasan Chair & cushion.  she's been wanting for a long time. And Chris agreed to get us an adorable tea set her & I could share  All on sale!

On a different note, I am sick :( I only slept 4 hours after my Friday night (clocked out at 7:35am). Natalie had been awake when I arrived home, & hadn't slept well herself. By 3pm we were still tired & grouchy.I missed church this am, slept until 1pm, and still feel like dog doo doo...Natie even made me some Awake tea in our new set, but i'm not, well, awake. How am i supposed to run 7 miles tonight? Trudy will be over for haircuts (the boys only). I look so bad, I need to hibernate.

I accidentally even kicked a kid with my fins! I have no problem with tons of kids and parents in the double free swim lanes. I was in the lap lane right next to it, since 1.  I like to be right near Ceeg & Nat during free swim and 2. there were no other lanes available. So as my goggles fog up, kids left & right just flying under water creating some crash test moments. Oy Vey...can't wait until the pool has all the regular kids & families next week again...the usual  groups know the rules and obey them pretty well. sorry. I sound like an old fart but i'm just venting. I love kids, everyone knows that.

As usual for my thursdays, before the friday night 13 and all day saturday nap, I got a lot done today. Got up early & cleaned like a maniac woman. We went to sfh to FINALLY have them copy my orig, birth certificate, and now I have my new badge :)) the kids LOVE it, lol. I am not even going to try to worry about the photo, lol.

My Natalie decided to clean the bathroom today top to bottom (except the toilet~ I did that!) It looks great...she really has a much better sense of style than I, too, lol. No style here. CJ enjoyed watching the men dig up the driveway and the huge drill (above!) didn't even phase him after a while. He played outside the entire day, and of course practiced on his Red Bike. So Chris wants to stay up late & watch House, but I've got the math test 2moro! He'll be home again all day for this crazy Geo Noise. I've already sent the kids outside to BEG him to pick up Chinese tonight...I do not want to cook!

        coffeepresslatte

Good work night, went by very quickly. Made lattes as usual for everyone to enjoy :) It's so important to not only work hard and love what you do, but that everyone works as a team and good spirits abide. My other RN worked @ sfh and liked it a lot- he said I'll be just fine there. The fact that he and others have so much more experience eases my fears a bit. I enjoy networking. So I still have to fiddle around with the math review questions/ IV calculations (he told me the 1 hr. test was actually pretty easy, though). Sienna was texting me thru the night, since they had to deal with waiting at the airport, rental cars that didn't show, and JET LAG...her first experience with that great wonder of life. Poor kids are so tired...hope they get to really have a rewarding time after they rest today. Here's a pic she sent me from her phone~

This morning I went for my new employee PE @ SF, and it took over 2 hours! Then hopped over to the Y, swam, starbuck stop for energy, and rode the loops. Now it's already time to get my kiddies. Tonight is CJ's Irish Dance performace (each 3rd grade class has a nation to represent).

Description: 1 mile warmup walk. 6.3 miles, slow....64 min. Slowing forces included being pretty tired and cautious about running on empty, only having eaten 2 slices of bread and latte today, water & stretch stop & 2 dog "scares"...
worked a shortie last night, and was tempted after work to get some wendys- I was so hungry. Decided there was a chance my peeps were awake at home and yes, after midnight they were all awake! It was so nice to see them. This is a long weekend for me. I don't usually do the 3 days in a row. Tonight I'm only doing a shortie on Roos, and I already told them I can not and Will not stay the full 12. CJ enjoyed a latte with me @ lunchtime-he LOVES them now.
Natalie wants clothes, the city museum trip, and National Treasure DVD  for her birthday~ and also they both get their bikes on Wednesday!!!!!

Feeling huffy-puffy today! I've had some air hunger issues lately, and it seems only certain times I experience this, even with my meds. Ifinally organized the triathlon clothes, gear, etc into one dresser! Yes, it fills up an entire dresser, lol!Didn't get too much else done :( Where did the day go? Well, bed early for us- an early swim, and finally a long bike ride! Also I am ecstatic that Chris agreed to get me the bike rack since BW is having a sale this weekend :)

And yayy- the kids start an early weekend tomorrow b/c there is no school Friday. Chris and I are going with our 4 best friends to dinner and concert, and we are sleeping in on Friday! Yes, we are finally actually going out like normal adults, lol. I need to just hang out and remember to have fun. That's hard for me~ I always need an escape route, even when i am with good friends. I like to go off on my own, and i am still not sure why. I guess it's the ADHD again. Can't focus!

Nighty night. Pasta, salad, cuddle with the kids, and snoring...(not me !)

          • ..Still recovering from the weekend~24.5 hours! I had to nap a little this morning after I got the kids off with a big ham, egg &pancake breakfast.Asthma bugging me again. Well, I was stuck on Roosevelt for the full 12 hours on sunday night, and I wasn't prepared at all- & would not have run 6.6 miles before work had i known! I did alright, since that floor moves very quickly! I didn't even eat, just made my usual strong coffee for myself and staff.I felt exhausted but accomplished. Driving the kids to school was the hardest part of all. I couldn't get to sleep until after 9am, then had to pick them up by 3. thank God Sienna got a ride from school to Gram's for work.So that's the weekend scoop!

Natalie will be performing at tonight's open House :) She was selected, and rightly so because she works very hard! She made it to school today and is feeling a lot better! I guess we will split up, and I'll go to CJ's  classroom, and Chris will visit w/ Natie's teacher. My work weekend is coming up, and i'm trying as usual to do everything before Friday evening.

                • SFH interview :)

Good news!.....I had a job interview today at Saint Francis Hospital (I preceptored there for 5 weeks at the end of nursing school in '94, and finally feel ready for the actual hospital.) They have an ortho  Rehab unit (short term, physical therapy-oriented, etc) that I am used to working on just like at Wingate.

Well, it went extremely well!!I also had a chance to take a tour, and it really felt like home, since it's the same floor I was "working" in '94. I am only going to be per-diem (as I still am per-diem at Wingate on the Vent/ respiratory unit.) But I am going to average about 25 hours a week including both jobs. I was used to Sunday nights at Wingate doing their rehab/short term floor, but I'm ready to enter the hosptial now, and I'll get more experience at the Saint Francis rehab unit. I'll still holding onto my Friday night vent position~ I love that unit :)

I'm so excited about learning!I will be sent to the SDS to start IV's all day, too! The hardest part for our family will be the full week of orientation : not for me, but for the kids. They'll have to take the bus to and from school (I usually drive all three of them) And Sienna will have to walk the mile to her job for that week. So plaaaeeeesssssee pray that it all works out, especially for that crazy week, and for the kids.As for the actual working hours, they won't miss me at all :)

Natalie is at the pediatrician with Chris (thank you dear!) while I take care of everything here. She's got some inner ear ache and general cold s/sx. She went into school late, and I think she could have stayed home. She insisted on swimming in their lessons tonight too.

Ceeg is fooling around with his homework and there are 4 loads to fold.

Finally got our ham today, and they enjoyed it- wanted Trudy to stop in for dinner as well, but things are too busy and it would be too late. At least I got a quick conversation in with her about the general goings on here at the HouleHouse. There is never any time to reflect and just hang out with coffee or dessert. Remember the old days? Being human, and all? Celebrating birthdays? Actual weekends?

We began the day early as is the usual for Easter Sunday. Laurie and I ran through the song once and we were ready. I sang it during the 9am, then got the kids ready at home, and sang it again at the eleven o' clock service. Everyone was quite enthusiastic about my singing (except, of course, Chris, who is not enthusiastic about anything but sound equipment). But I didn't feel that great about the way I looked or sounded. Was I too loud? Off key? Did my face look funny?Who cares. As long as God is happy that I did what was asked of me.

We'll going to rest and later on see our best friends Todd and Susan for dessert :)

We got to sleep in a little bit today, since there is no school now until Tuesday. The weather stinks- it is cold, with flurries and blustery (up to 50 mph possible tomorrow- there goes the bike riding!)

We will chill tomorrow before I do my long night shift. I think i might even skip my run and play hookie with them! Although CJ's been a bit wild lately (we still have to pick up his new rx) I really enjoyed being together with them today.

The Ceeg-man took an ugly shot of me, so I returned the favor, lol! Aww, he could never be anything but gorgeous to me. BUT his behavior today was not attractive.

...this is exactly how this child behaved in the office~ which included tearing up the exam table paper! He did gain almost 2 pounds, which means he is ready to go from the very smallest dose of Focalin to a slightly bigger one.He stomped on the scale several times to test it...argghhh.
At least he did it all with a smile.
                  .........We upped him to 10mg.

Went finally for my annual with Dr. M. , and thankfully it was a quick exam, lol. She's a great doc & always listens. We're going to try a new pmdd med, and also Celebrex, a better NSAID than Motrin for my cramps and back pain. Thankfully I got to run beforehand, since we have a busy afternoon ahead. Also had to schedule an adhd eval for the ceeg man for tomorrow.
