Here is a quick message from the band.

"We would like to thank all the great DOA fans that have left us amazing feed back regarding the new change within our musical direction. There was nothing but positive comments regarding our brand new track and we were very pleased to read these emails and messages.

Here are some  answers to some questions that we have read about our new musical change.
We have had this plan in the works for a bit of time now and we do not feel that it is necessary to change the band's name since we have way too much pride with this band. There are alot of elements that are not  going to changie and will never change with the group but we feel as far as the music goes, that we do not really consider it a "change" as it's more of expanding the musical ability.
The upcoming album has such a diverse sound and each track has a different vibe from each other.
We will not be doing any further Industrial material but we might add in some elements into our new sound. There is talk about re-doing some of the past material with our new sound as well. I know some fans are sad to hear this news but there are two album that you can always listen to, to remember the old sound of Dawn of Ashes. We are happy that you all have supported us through out 8 years of hard work.
We are really working very hard to finish this new album and should have a few more tracks posted soon, so again we thank all of you for the emails and wonderful support.

Cheers!

After the long wait, Dawn of Ashes has finally posted a brand new track off the upcoming Album "Genocide Chapters".

This is the demo version of "The Filth Coated Heart". This track is still unmixed and pre-mastered, we just wanted to give a sample before the final mix goes up. Please understand that there is still some tweeking that needs to be fixed but again it's the DEMO version.

This track is one of the few slower tracks on the album, with more of a ballad feeling.

More tracks will be posted soon so please be patient and enjoy!

To answer everyones questions regarding what Dawn of Ashes is moving towards. Please find all answers listed below.

Q: Is Dawn of Ashes going fully Metal and less away from the Industrial scene?

A: For all hardcore Industrial fans, unfortunately the band is moving more towards the Metal market and less away from the Industrial market. The music is still going to be 100% horror based, discussing the same topics that they always have. Their image is going to be even more graphic then before. So, even though the music is going to be different, it is still going to be Dawn of Ashes. Just way more violent and brutal.

Q: Is Dawn of Ashes still going to perform their older material?

A: Yes, the band still plans to perform all older materal, just with guitars and drums.

Q: When will new material be posted on MySpace?

A: The band plans on having two new tracks posted either by September or October of 08'.

Q: Is Dawn of Ashes going to be signed to their current record labels?

A: Unfortunately, we can not disclose this information.

Q: Why are you going Metal, we like the older sound more?

A: Unfortunately, The band has always been more into Metal. There is a way bigger market in the Metal scene, than the Industrial scene. The band always looks at what benefits their career and what direction is going to further their career. The Industrial scene isn't doing much for them and the record labels only provide minimum support for their bands. Thousands and thousands of fans contact Dawn of Ashes daily asking about future tours. Well, if there is no financial support than there is no tour. They are tired of making dance music and feel they have way more talent on the table to show their fans. One factor that the band always needs is brutality and Metal has always been more brutal than electronic music. Industrial concerts are tame compared to Metal events. Basically, there is more to offer for Dawn of Ashes with this new direction instead of hoping that the Industrial scene would get bigger.

Q: Is Dawn of Ashes going to sound like this band**insert band here**?

A. The band isn't going to try to sound like anyone. They will bring in their influences but every act does that with an album. Unfortunately, the band that everyone mentions is not an influence that they are inspired by.

Q: Why, we hate Metal?

A: Well, Unfortunately the band doesn't hate Metal.

Q: Why are you keeping the name "Dawn of Ashes", if you are changing your sound?

A: No matter what direction the band goes, it will always have the elements that the original sound had(Brutal, dark and horror based). The band needs something new that the music was missing and this is why this change has occured. It's still Dawn of Ashes, just more to it now.

Q: Is K. Bathory going to use effects to alter his voice on the album and live?

A. Absolutely not. K. Bathory in the past, before Dawn of Ashes was a vocalist for many Death Metal, Black Metal and Hardcore acts. He never needed the effects in the first place and in fact was never depending on effects in the previous DOA material. He only used the effects to mix in well with the Industrial sound. He decided it's not necessary to use effects when you have talent as a singer.

Q: When will the new songs be up on MySpace?

A: Please be patient and we do apologize. They had to move studios and now are working with the producers that did albums for As I Lay Dying and Winds of Plague. So again, be patient!

Q: Why did Dawn of Ashes sell out?

A: Sellout? Doing music that you want to do is selling out?
