Hi there everyone,

This is Dax - singer of DAX and current Austin resident. I'm writing because I've got a big move coming up, I am moving to New York!

I will be living in Manhattan starting in 2008. The guys in the band aren't going to be coming with me. We do hope to do something together in the future but they can't all uproot their lives and follow me around the world! I'll be doing something musical in New York, but what that will be is still up in the air.

Anyway, I wanted to post this blog and let everyone know what's going on. We're going to be having a couple of final shows in Austin to say goodbye to everyone, I hope you can come and party with us!

Around 8PM - they haven't given us the final set time yet, we'll post it up on the main page as soon as we find out.
This will be a short set in the BODOG battle of bands. It's an early show and we'd like to win, so we'd love to see you there :)

Saturday, December 15th
@ Club 115 (115 San Jacinto, at 2nd)
11:30 PM
This will be our huge final blow out show with special guests Rhoades D'Ablo and Erik Gard sitting in with the band. It's going to be a blast...we'll be giving away CD's and stickers and other merch and doing a lot of hugging and kissing.

I really hope you can make it out to one of our final shows.

And in other news...Erik has decided to leave the band.  He's leaving on good terms - stuff in his personal life had to take precedent for now.

So, we're looking for a new guitarist, the journey continues!

This is us in Houston:



This past weekend was quite an adventure!  The six of us piled into three cars with our equipment and headed to Houston on Friday, playing at Jake's Bar (as you see above and below).

We had a really fun show and it was cool to meet the Sindaddy nuts.  After the show we shacked up at a super cheap motel for just a few hours, really, before cramming our smelly selves back into the cars and making our way for the 5 hour trip to New Orleans.

Now Orleans is an interesting town.  It has stinky parts...and then even more stinky parts.  Actually though it was pretty cool (and HOT, 105 degrees!), we had good food and the people were SO FUCKING NICE.  We're used to southern hospitality but the folks at the HIHO Lounge bent over backwards.  They even gave us a (fairly) clean appartment to crash in after the show.

So we played there and they had lots of lights and good sound and I cage danced during All American GFE and fun was had.  I don't know if anyone took pictures, I haven't seen any.

Mace and Erik jetted out that night (you nuts!) and the rest of us left the next morning.  Mark and I rode together for the 8.5 hour long-ass journey.  That part was NOT FUN but wasn't horrible either, I am definitely still recovering.
