Trey and I recently went south to see some of you folks in NC and GA. It was good to see everyone. We took some photos and have a live recording of the Eddie's Attic show. I'm putting up a song from that set...haven't decided which yet.
If you could be a fly on the window on the road with us you'd be bored to tears with geeky music talk during the day. --and a trip to Best Buy for a coke?? But, something about the nighttime brings out a second wind from Trey....Endless jokes and impressions. I'll spare you the written jokes...But he gives a pretty dead-on impression of this Eddie Murphy bit:
Before we left, I wrote the directions to the venue in Atlanta on one side of a piece of paper and the directions from the venue to my friend's house where we were staying (in an awesome spare bedroom...with breakfast and a baby meet and greet!...and perhaps the funniest baby photo with a likeness to Alfred Hitchcock ever). digress....
We arrived in sunny ATL with time to spare...and we were greeted by a window wave from our friend Mieka who was also playing the show with us. We tucked in behind Mieka as she passed.. We only had to get the last couple of turns to the venue. Sometime around then is when I smacked the directions from Trey's hands. **this is important.
So we're reading from our directions and following Mieka as well. Until we reached a point in the directions where Mieka was signalling right but our directions said left. At a crossroads...Trey and I were left to a quick decision. I can't remember exactly what we said to one another...But it went something like "Mieka's gps is busted...clearly we turn left" I think Trey may have said 'girls are dumb'...anyway. So our two vehicles parted ways...a mile from the venue. we drove...and droved....and droveded...signs looked very unfamiliar...sound check had come and gone. Miles later we realize that things had gone awry. 'A-ha!' We turned over the directions and backtrack to the venue.
That night we opened for Bill Malonee and the Vigilantes of Love. Great stuff. Great folks. We became fans. Catch them when you can.
The next day somewhere in SC...We couldn't find a Chickfila....So we resigned ourselves to lunch at KFC. Trey told me they once found a fried beak!!!! I ordered 3......3 beaks please.

I'm sure there's more to recount. I'll have Trey write if he can think of anything....Check back for the live songs from Eddie's. If you want a copy of that show hit me up: dean@deanfields.com
We've got a northeast adventure in March...stay tuned.
be good or be safe,
Dean
