I should start out by mentioning that the following is meant and intended as a highly
experimental niche-product, but you can now get hold of all 10 CaN-sets, encoded
as 5.1-surround AC-3 files...!

You can download the surround-versions from the following links:
Compiling a Network v10.0
Compiling a Network v9.0 [R]
Compiling a Network v8.0
Compiling a Network v7.0
Compiling a Network v6.0
Compiling a Network v5.0
Compiling a Network v4.0 [R]
Compiling a Network v3.0
Compiling a Network v2.0
Compiling a Network v1.0

The ten surround-versions of the sets are also available as torrents from here:
http://www.mininova.org/search/?search=compiling%20a%20network

The following links point each to a zip-file, which contains:
1. An 5.1-surround version of the set (as a *.ac3-file)
2. Technical notes regarding the AC-3 encoding
3. The currently official "Compiling a Network"-tracklists PDF-file

The sets are easily opened and played by the "all-eating" VLC-player:

While still working on what will hopefully become CaN v11.0 and v12.0,
and to celebrate that my myspace-profile just had it's 20000th view,
I've just UL'ed a "new" D&B-track called: "Unavngivet" (trans: "Untitled").

(See also the previous posting, under: ""D'n'B-remix on it's way...?" [UPDATE]")

Originally, the track was a remix-competition submission done some years ago;
but after some HD-cleaning, I found the various bits and pieces, removed
potentially legally-offending samples given and used for the re-rub, and asked
Dorff and Voorhies to put their spin on the track...!
(NOTE: they do NOT like working with D'nB-stuff, for some odd reason!)

In any event, I like what they got forged together, and as I wrote: the track is
now online for your personal entertainment! (...hopefully)

Speaking of D'n'B-tracks, the now four D'n'B-tracks, which I've made (all mainly
made as a sort of artistic break from the usual 4/4's with some occasional 303
-squelches), will soon also be available as lossless WAVE's and FLAC's!

Furthermore, for all of you geeks, freaks and nerds out there, all four D'n'B-tracks
will soon also be available as 24bit - 96kHz WAVE-files, too...!
(Bet you don't see that all that much on DOA and RollDaBeats...)

Keep your eye on this blog for futher details!

(...now back to working on CaN v11.0 and v12.0!)
Saturday, October 03, 2009
As the subject indicates (and in the current status-update),
some changes have happened with the official "dee3"-site,
where a full-page even more simplified, no-frills, full-page
flash-version of this site is now online!

Check it out at the usual URL-address at:

http://dee.freehostia.com/

Furthermore, "the dee3 | datamixes" mix series has now gotten
it's own website at:

http://dee-mixes.blogspot.com

Furthermore, based on the success with doing so with the CaN-series,
the "dee3 | datamixes"-series has also gotten it's own downloadable
PDF-file, containing tracklist-, artist- and label-info, as for download-links
for the lossless-versions of the sets, too! (If available...)
Check the RSS- or podcast-feed for more...

And speaking of blogspot-based sites, the "Compiling a Network"-site
(see previous blog-posing) at:

http://compilinganetwork.blogspot.com

...will from now on (and until further notice) be t-h-e official website for
this promo mix series.

And whilst in write-mode:

"Either a ZEN- or a Zune-user...?"
The XML-feeds that power both the "dee3 | datamixes"- and "Compiling
a Network" RSS- and podcast-feeds, are now also subscribable for ZEN-
and Zune-users too, BTW!
So if you're either a ZEN- or a ZUNE-user, check out one of the blogspot-URL's
above (preferably both), and subscribe now!

"E.P. release pre-eminent?":
A musical-project that I'm involved in might be on verge of getting an E.P.
released! More info on this, if and when I know more...

"Also available some places in Dolby Surround..."
I've been experimenting with encoding the existing CaN-sets, as for the
"CaN vs. 6ONE6"-, "A Definition of House"-, "Wildsat 01"- and the "CaN vs. thinner"-
sets into the Dolby 5.1 Surround AC3-format
(also "Dolby Digital EX"- and "Dolby Headphone"- encoded, I might add)...

Although the sets aren't in what geeks-and-freaks would call "proper-surround", the
audible results are impressive and add definitely an extra dimension or two to the
listening-experience (especially during headphone-listening).

I'll post more info regarding, if and when these sets will be made available, and from
where you'll be able to DL them from!

"Make it a double..."
I'm sifting through the past +6 months worth of received - and otherwise found -
tracks for what m-i-g-h-t be not only the forthcoming CaN v11.0 set, but also the
CaN v12.0-set!

Furthermore and just to make things interesting, I'll soon be activating the drop-box
for the "Compiling a Network"-profile at soundcloud.com; I'll post an update here on
MySpace regarding, so if any of you out there would like to see y-o-u-r track on a
CaN-set, drop it onto the soundcloud drop-box, and I'll (maybe) get back to you...!

In any event, it's planned that (if completed) both CaN-sets will then be made public simultaneously!

If and when these sets will see the light of day is currently uncertain though, as I'm
busy off-and-on with other music-projects (such as the "D & V"-project, as for a
planned three-track, 303-driven E.P.); but I've also got "real-life"-obligations,
which at the end of the day are more important to me, in all aspects...

"D'n'B-remix on it's way...?" [UPDATE]
And finally, I've made a D'n'B-remix of track for a here undisclosed E.P., which was submited by me
for over a month ago; unfortunately, the remix-E.P. apparently has gotten shelved,
due to reasons, which I can fully understand.

But the label has been really cool and given me permission to use the samples from the original track,
and allowed me to "release it" on my own-some!

In any event, you can now hear The "Geo-stationary Mix" of "Fra et satellit..." on my player!

I've got another "jilted" d'n'b-remix from almost 3-4 years ago, from which I'll remove
some potential legally "offending" samples from, and will put the "sample-sanitized"
-version online in the near-future.

And this will complete - and conclude - the (ongoing) "dee3 | the d'n'b-trax..."-E.P., and
mark my departure from the D'n'B-genre - if not for good, then at least for an un-
defined period of time...

P.S. The QR-codes for both the "dee3 | datamixes"- and the "Compiling a Network"-series have been updated;
(re-) scan them both at the dee3-site, mentioned previously in this blog-posting...!

While I'm considering, how the next re-design of the CaN-site should and will be,
here's the ever-functional (and slightly retro-fitted) blogspot-version of the CaN-site,
which will "stand in" for the official CaN-site, until the new version gets back online!

Current mood:  happy
The "Compiling a Network" promo mix series' ten sets has now been DL'ed

LOL, never experienced this one on the CaN-site:
"This website has exceeded it's allowed quota of simultaneous users and
your request cannot be processed at the moment. Please try again in 15 seconds."
(Hrmmm, time to p-a-y for getting a decent host...?)

In any event, if any of you have experienced this recently visiting the CaN-site,
then I'd like to wholeheartedly apologize for this inconvenience!

This also goes, if this has occurred while accessing the CaN-feed and/or podcast, too...!

For some odd reason, the new-and-improved PDF-file - with the various tracklists
and DL-links for the currently ten sets that is the "Compiling a Network"-series - has
apparently become a somewhat hot DL-item at the moment...

You can get it from here...

And on that note and as previously mention, the CaN-series is now available as
torrents (courtesy of mininova.org) as 320kbps mp3-,  FLAC- AND NOW
WAVE-versions, too!

For more DL-details, go:
http://www.mininova.org/search/?search=Compiling+a+Network

P.S. Further seeding of the torrents would (still) be greatly appreciated - T.I.A.! :-D

Current mood:  happy
The CaN-series is once again (also) available as torrents, courtesy of mininova.org...!
Currently, it's the 320kbps mp3-versions of the sets that are available as torrents;
but sometime in the near-future, the WAVE- and FLAC-versions will also be made
available as torrents, too!

For more DL-details, go:
http://www.mininova.org/search/?search=Compiling+a+Network

UPDATE:
The FLAC-versions of the sets are now online, too - also at the same URL above!

As I wrote in the previous blog-post, the CaN-series' RSS-/podcast-feed was soon
to go through an minor upgrade...

And all of the currently ten enclosed mp3's in the CaN-series' RSS- and podcast-feed
have now been upgraded from the previous standard compression rate of 192kbps
to now 320kbps!

The CaN-stream, however, still streams mp3's compressed at 192kbps...

Something which (only) might be of interest for LINUX-users, the CaN-site's podcast-link
should now automatically support the podcast-players that are installed or are available
for the various variants of this OS.

The lossless-versions of the CaN-series' sets (WAVE and FLAC) are still available/accessible
by clicking on the individual headlines in the RSS-feed.
