Here are my latest paintings : the main idea was to mix the drawing and the graphic act, as well as the writting and the painting. Thus, I chose to mix my kalloshéns with abstract painting. The result I aimed to obtain was a meeting between traditional and comtemporary.

You will find below the paintings I recently acheived. The main theme was ''Tribute to Modernity'' : it represents my own interpretation to what became of the past : swallen into modernity, adapted, linked. It is the becoming of Art I was interested in : not the death nor the disapearing of tradition, but its mutation, its adaptation to modernity :

Many contemporary artists abandon the painting or drawing pratice to use new technologies such as digital photography, computers, video editing, which all have two aspects in common : rapidity of execution and reproducibility. I chose to combine a drawing work with a mechanical practice. The photocopier materialize the bridge between my drawing practice, considered as classical, and an industrial practice. The use of the photocopier, practice considered as non-artistic at first, as were Andy Warhol advertising screen prints. The use of photocopies has a direct influence on my initial graphic work : the copy becomes unperfect, the feature widen, transform itself from the initial, so that it becomes independant. Thus, I bring the diferent elements together by sticking them. The result is a whole created from pieces :

One of my latest technics has been using Plexiglas (Perspex) : this process enables me to play with transparency, as well as create an interactivity between the drawing and the patterns. Please take note that the inky drawing is completely personalizable : if your are interested by this work, feel free to contact me : I also work on demand.

Caligraphy In the frameworks of my studies, I used to work on chinese caligraphy. It led me to create my own interpretation of these traditional signs: a personal writting based on the physical memory : without meaning, only the freedom of gesture expressing itself. I called it ''kalloshéns''; from the greek ''kallos" (caligraphy) and the chinese ''shén": Dans le cadre de mes études, j'ai notamment travaillé la calligraphie.
