"This is what you want" Top 50+ 1 tracks/albums of 2008

So it's like this... I haven't been posting my shows playlists for a really long time now but that doesn't mean I don't have the records for it! The following list has been compiled from episodes of 'This is what you want...' over the last year (2008) and is contains only bands that were played on my radio show in the year. They statisically needed to be played a high percentage of times in order to make the top 20 list and although the list was meant to be a bit more loose for the remaining 31 available spots, I found it difficult to place some notably obvious omissions in my even this section of the list and even though I may like these bands a fair amount and may have even played them on the show the fact remains they were not representive of 'This is what you want' in this last year as much as the 31 bands on the list. These omissions include:

The Verve, Bloc Party, TV on the Radio, Nick Cave, Saul Williams, Mudhoney, dd/mm/yyyy, excepter, Tokyo Police Club, m83, Cedar.

and may also include the just released albums of:

Travis, The Dears, Cranes, The High Dials, Peter Bjorn and John.

I find it funny to see that some people out there in Medialand had such a hard time finding much to put on their lists when I'm having a hard time misincluding bands from my list! Anyway, here it is!

So it's been a tough couple weeks. I'm posting this blog 2 days after my radio show night and it's been a challenge to do considering the latest personal life drama.
Of importance to the show the week prior to this episode is the fact that the computer I'm writing this blog on decided it was a perfect time to crash right as the first set below was midway into the second song from "a sunny day in glasgow". Sorry it's been soooo long people but good things come to those who wait... actually that's retorical crap! To sum it up simply though, my show was preempted for the National Homelessness Marathon (live from ckut Montreal across the country!) and then the next week I was actually in Montreal and unable to produce a show to air. Last week I was lagging after flying in from Montreal on Friday night (12 hours of torture cuz of the weather!) and decided after I finally crashed from trying to resume normal life too quickly on Tuesday evening.
