Desert Brawl 37
Desert Brawl Returns to the Cascade Indoor Soccer Center  Saturday  June 27 with 10 full contact cage fights. A double main event with Jon "Guns" Gunderson returning to Bend Oregon to fight in his hometown. Gunderson now training out of Las Vegas NV. Facing Gunderson is Dan "Razor" Russem fighting out of Sacremento CA Russem brings some heavy hands and a desire to beat Gunderson in his hometown.
The second main event fight features The "Outlaw" JT Taylor, lead instructor for the Desert Dogs MMA also returning to Central Oregon's proving grounds. Facing the Outlaw is "Crazed" Cris Ensley fighting out of Cutthrought commity . Ensley is a young strong fighter coming to take the outlaw on and bring some justice to the cage!
Several other confirmed fights are Codi "Ghost" Smith vs Adam "Terror" Thomas fighting for the Desert Brawl Heavyweight Championships. Thomas fighting out of Impact Jiujitsu should bring a heavy grappling game to Smith. Smith Trained by the World Famous Desert Dogs MMA and Jiujitsu Club. Smith has a unblemished record of 8 -0 finishing all of his opponents with submissions and brutal ground and pound. Smith currently holding the title, should give the Terror everything he can handle.

RENEGADE ROLLERGIRLS of Oregon 

WHAT: February 27-28, 2009. The Renegade Rollergirls; Bend's only non-profit Roller Derby League, will be participating in the 2009 Oregon Sports and Fitness Expo February 27 and 28, 2009 presented by National Fitness and Desert Brawl, at the Deschutes County Expo Center, 3800 SW Airport Way in Redmond, Oregon.  

The Renegade Rollergirls will be performing a 20-minute expo scrimmage “Rumble in Redmond” on Friday night at 7:00 P.M.  During the Sports and Fitness Expo the Renegade Rollergirls will have season schedule information, membership information and merchandise for distribution. Admission is FREE for this all ages event.

WHEN: February Friday 27, 2009 at 7:00 P.M “Rumble in Redmond Roller Derby expo and Saturday 28, 2009 skating and information. 

WHERE: The event will be held at Deschutes County expo Center, 3800 SW Airport Way in Redmond Oregon. 

ABOUT: “The Only No Holds Barred Derby In The World” 
The Renegade Rollergirls of Oregon are one of the many Renegade roller derby leagues nationwide. Renegade leagues are legendary in the revival of the sport for being the only roller derby organization that competes on banked track and flat track surfaces, with an extreme no holds barred game play.  The Central Oregon chapter of the Renegade Rollergirls is comprised of an eclectic group of ambitious and athletic women with a unified goal of providing heart pounding, fast paced, and aggressive roller derby entertainment to our fans, while promoting physical fitness and healthy lifestyles.  Renegades have been featured locally in print, radio, and television media, as well as nationally with ESPN, MTV, A&E, and Blood and Thunder, a national roller derby magazine.   

Our bouting season runs September- May wherein we will compete locally and nationally in Oregon, Arizona, Washington, California, and Nevada.  During our off season our focus is recruitment, community activism through fundraising and volunteer work, and educating children and adults about the benefits of exercise and healthy lifestyles.

OREGON SPORTS AND FITNESS EXPO 2009

   Oregon Sports and Fitness Expo have teamed up with Desert Brawl Mixed Martial Arts to bring Central Oregon the latest in sports equipment, apparel, and fitness for our active lifestyle. The 2009 Oregon Sports and Fitness Expo are being presented by National Fitness and Desert Brawl.  Oregon's largest health and fitness weekend will be Friday and Saturday, Feb 27, 28 at the Deschutes County Expo Center, 3800 SW Airport Way in Redmond, Oregon.  Central Oregon has a long list of year round sports we all enjoy.  This all day event is free to the public.  It's a great venue for those seeking a healthier lifestyle, or to find a new sport or hobby.  Attendees will find hundreds of exciting exhibits and events offering the newest in fitness, diet, nutrition, strength and wellness products and services. Vendors and sports enthusiasts alike will be able to see firsthand the cutting edge in sports and fitness related equipment and services.  During both days of the Expo, many leading fitness professionals will be presenting educational seminars and demonstrations on subjects such as proper nutrition and dieting, exercise philosophies, making health and fitness your business and many more. 

      Oregon Sports and Fitness Expo will top off the event with 10 full contact cage fights Saturday night!  Featured in the main event is Desert Brawl originator and founder JT "Outlaw" Taylor (Desert Dogs MMA) taking on the Northwest number one ranked Welterweight Champion 11-1 Dave Culbertson  (Braveheart MMA). Taylor is coming out of retirement, and taking on the younger Culbertson should be fight that matches "youth" vs. "skill".  Mixed martial arts competitors are true athletes that employ the training and nutrition principals of strength, power and fitness, the cornerstone of Oregon Sports and Fitness Expo. We're are excited to have the biggest names in the sport teaching and signing autographs at our show. 

      Desert Brawl is a pioneer in live MMA events, and return to present "Pride and Glory".  We'll have 10 live MMA cage fights featuring some of the hottest fighters and biggest stars in mixed martial arts. This event will be held on Saturday, February 28 from 8-10 pm.  A Desert Brawl promoter stated, "It's great to be teaming up with at the Oregon Sports and Fitness Expo, bringing the best of the sport up close and personal to the city of Redmond." 
      The Oregon Sports and Fitness Expo complimentary MMA seminar track will be hosted by Professional MMA fighters, featuring many of today's top athletes.  Tickets to the fight start at $12.00 in advance. Desert Brawl Nov 1 Fight or Fright 
On Saturday Nov 1 Bend at the Indoor Soccer  Center, "Desert Brawl 35" returns for A collision of Oregon's toughest warriors with 12 full contact cage fights. Nov 1 will be full of Knock outs and Tap outs,   The Desert Dogs and Team React will be taking on the toughest fighters in the Northwest. 
  
 Local Bend Desert Dog  fighter Justin "Freight Train " Fratto ( 8-0-1) will be  returning to the cage to defend his 145 lbs (Cruiser weight) title. Squaring  off with  S.A.G.A  fighter, Portland's Kevin Reece (4-1),  Fratto has a long history of boxing and has adapted to MMA in a very short time !  Fratto is known to stand a swing till someone goes down, and kevin Reece has the same reputation .

This will be a true test for bolth of these hard hitting "Ultimate Warriors." Reece has only one loss to the hands of  Desert  Dogs Fighter Rocky Jarret. He returns to Bend once again to take on another Desert Dog fighter! This fight won't be one to miss ! 
  
Desert Brawl  3X  Champion Tomi "Last Minute"Massey (9-3)  proves he is here to stay by taking a rematch fight with up and coming Northern California Champion Joshua Lagrange 6-1).

Since there last fight, Lagrange has torn through his last six opponents and is back for a real test two years later.Facing Tomi Massey, Desert Brawl 35's co-main event ! Both of these fighters bring some real skills to the fight. This should be a great battle between these very skilled Veteran's!  Lagrange is coming to Bend for revenge.  HE wants to take the Desert Brawl Title back to California . 
  
Desert Brawl  Bantam Weight Champion  Ryan "Ryful" Fulton ( 6-0)  takes  on Portland's undefeated Brave-Heart MMA Champion Nick"Tick"Williams.  Brave-Heart MMA has been producing some high caliber fighters  Rumors suggest Williams is a the real deal and a serious challenger to the young Ryan Fulton .  This fight will be a classic battle between a wrestler anda Jiu-Jitsu Artist.  Although both of these fighters are well rounded, this fight could stop at any second or be a long battle between these two! Bolth of these fighters are undefeated, and someone will be walking away with another win and one will walk with his first loss ! 

Desert Brawl 35 Fight or Fright Sat Nov 1 will be held at the Indoor Soccer Center.They are sponsored in part by Cascade Harley Davidson, Speed Shop, and National Fitness abd Desert Dogs, MMA.

 Saturday  May 17 2008 Desert Brawl returns to the Indoor soccer center with 10 full contact ultimate cage fights. Desert Brawl with its humble beginings has grown to be the  one of the most premier MMA events in the region. Desert Brawl started in 1999 in Bend Oregon   has consistantly produced local and national champions! Desert Brawl is Oregon's Original MMA Event

 

      Main Event features two very game fighters with ko punching power  that should give the fans exactly what their looking for . Desert Brawl  middelweight champion Derek "Strangler"Jones is stepping back into the cage after a eighteen month layofff due to injurys . A sever bicept injury has keept this Bend native out of action for way to long.   "The strangler" Darek Jones has a  great record of  4-1 and  holds the DB  middle weight belt  and will be looking to defend his title from challenger also 4-1 "The lion" leo  Mccdonald from  Coos Bay Oregon.Mccdonald with a  impressive Knock Out of  his last opponent with percicsion accuracy will be looking to swing some heavy leather and keep this fight on their feet as these two warriors battle to take home the Desert Brawl title to their home town.

    Co main event  has two very skilled warriors facing each outher. Justin "Freight Train" Fratto with a very impressive record of 7-0 in the cage steps down from his 155lbs weight class to battle for the 145lbs title that Ryan Ryful Fulton is giving up  for future endeavors.Fratto who is a Bend native and has a extensive background in boxing and a Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu background will have his hands full with the dangerouse  7-3 fighter  Will "Headhunter" Hunt  from John Day Oregon. Bolth of these fighters are highly trained and ready to take the DB title home to their home town . Hunt who is trained by the Redneck Mulitia  is known for his ko power and conditioning that could end this fight at anytime.The "Freight Train" Fratto  is trained by Bends premier MMA training center Desert Dogs Jiu-Jitsu will be ready to take on the very tough Hunt for a battle that should keep all of us waiting to see who will emerge as champion an take  the  title to thier  home town.

  

       With a full fight card of highly anticipated fights this event wont be one to miss.
