Then it was over. Desperado is dead for good. We ended our journey with two shows in Oslo and Trondheim. The clubs were packed. The audience was dancing, laughing and crying. We were drunk.

It was a short adventure but we will never forget all the good times. Thank you Europe and all the cities we played there, thank you UK for your warm words and the enthusiasm, thank you Norway and all the small and big places we played there, thank you to the mainstream places who let us play even thou we never fitted in, thank you to the DIY-Scene who makes this weird world a little better with your effort and ethics, thank you Stunted Records for taking such good care of us, thank you to all the people around Dead Letter Records and the local scene in general, now we sign off for duty.

156 shows were played, 7488 backstage beers have been consumed, our dear van Betty Ford(RIP) have taken us around for more than 80.000 kilometers, 2 albums, two ep..s and a million good memories that we will keep for all future.

We will never forget all the good people we have meet, all the interesting places that still have to struggle to maintain their scenes and houses, all the people who lives in so many different ways, we feel privileged to have gotten to travel and meet all of you!

Pleace check out new really cool Norwegian bands, Like rats from a shinking ship, The Hate Colony and Sigh & Explode.

Love and Hate from
Kurt, Eskild, Trommas, Asgeir, Eivind and Thomas.

You know you have been on quite a journey, when it even takes weeks after you have gotten safe home to write some words about it. I just realised that i have not been home on a weekend since the end of june. When drove off to start the tour in the middle of september you could still feel the summer in Trondheim. When we came back on the airport two weeks ago, the autumn had already becomed winter. So why did we leave in our van and returned by plane?
Well, our car broke down. many times. The last time it was so fucked that there were nothing to do at the moment. Luckily it was after playing the last show in France, and it was a really nice evening in Lons Le Saunier. Somewhere on the autobahn the next morning the car just blew up and everything from the brakes to the stearing stopped working. Germany is obvious not a good place to have trouble with your car, ironicly enough owning a german build car. Especially not on a sunday morning. We called the road rescue, and he took our car on his truck, and drove us to the smallest dorf he could find, just to be sure that we would not stand a chance to solve things easily. We asked him to please drive us to a other place, but he just blabbed something on german and ignored us. We tried to get help in the Dorf, but all we could get was a overprized hotelroom and cold shoulders. Next morning we went to the local supposed to be a Ford Workshop, but it looked more like Bob the Builder's private garage. We got to move the last gig in Trondheim one day and waited all day to convince the garage that they did not have a clue what they were doing. 8 hours later they told us that they did not have a clue what they were doing. So we called our car-insurance company and said that we were fucked. So we got to leave the car, with all the gear in it, and travel home on their expence. It took even the whole night to find a way to get out of that shithole, finally we found a guy nice enough to drive us to Hannover Airport for...well, around a german week salory. Next morning we flew home and got to play the last gig. The car just arrived after beeing transportated home. As the Van looks right now, it seems like they have dragged it upside down on the autobahn, and then pulled it thru the bottom of the northern sea back to Trondheim. Well, at leas we got the car back.

But the tour was great. Thanks to all the bands we played with, to all the promoteurs,to all we crashed and eat to, to all the people who meet up on the shows, and talked and hanged with us.

A special thanks to Knute and Magni for their roadiework, Thomas Danger for the work on the Norwegian tour, To John and Jill for their hospitality and to S-a-N Agency and Hero PR for the England Shows, Tanja for the european part and lending out here home once again, Jakub and Marek from Czech, Boris for housing and helping us in France, The Ford workshopguys in Lyon for their efforts, bandtravels.com for getting us home safe, Storås Utested for their effort, and at last, Bodø Hardcorefestival and Uffa for making this last weekend a really memorable ending of the year 2006 for our sake.

More news about 2007 really soon. We will come back!!

We did our first consert with Asgeir(from now on, he only goes by the name Bacon), in a festival in trysil last Thursday. It was great fun, and the audience was really cool to us. It was strange to leave Trondheim with the tourbus without picing up Eivind, but that's how life goes.

We have updated the upcoming shows section about the festivals we are playing this summer. Some comments about them, when we are playing, links to their homepages and other good bands playing.

Next week we will have our third and final studio session to complete our new album. This time it's overdubs and vocals that will be put to the harddisc. The recording will be done during july, and we will mix it the first weeks of august. It takes time to build a brand new city.

We have spent the long an cold winter, figuring out what to do with our future. Our guitarplayer and good friend Eivind decided to leave the band, right after we did our last show in Troms. It took some time to find a good replacement, and it took even more time thinking out where we want to go from here. We had come to that point when all the practical plans around the band, like upcoming tours and release was all set, but we had not had time or inspiration to create new music. We went out to the countryside of Stors for a weekend in march, and rehearsed and talked all weekend in a rented house. We did not create more than 3 songs, but we communicated more on this weekend, than on the past 6 months. And we got a collective good feeling of where we want to go with the new record.Right before Easter, we finally found a replacement for Eivind, his name is Asgeir, young of heart and very easy going. We have kept on rehearsing, and we are starting to see the contrast of what will be become the next Desperado album. Darker, slower, more to our roots and more complex. We like.We are heading Brygga Studios in Trondheim in early June to record as many songs that we have created when that time comes. We have 5 complete songs ready at this point, and many ideas that we have not made any structure around yet. We have never spent such a long period of time or such a amount of resources to make and record a album. We hope that it will be good, but without loosing any edge or rawness, our sounding like a fashionable rock hardcore band. The album will be released in September, followed up by a Norwegian tour, touring in England, Germany, Austria, Switzerland, and a 3 week tour in November with the marvellous Sons of Saturn from Lyon. Then we will visit Spain, Portugal and France. We are also working on a Scandinavian tour to fit in somewhere around before 2006 is over. We will also play 5 Norwegian festivals or more this summer, we are not allowed to reveal all yet, but we are playing the Oya Festival in Oslo amongst other.

Later skater.

Time for a little summary. This year have been a blast, playing over 60 shows, including a long European Tour, festivals and the longest Norwegian Tour that we have done. Kind of funny because we was planning to only do 3-4 shows this autumn. Well, well. We also released our third release on Dead Letter Records, The low fidelity crust EP. We are sending out promo's to foreign fanzines and shit now, and we are hoping to better the foreign distribution. Untill then you can check www.flight13.com in Europe and www.CDon.com in Scandinavia. We also have traded a lot of records, check out local distro's, we have lost all track of it ourselves.

Present

We will start off next year with some compilations. German label heckspoiler Music will release a compilation with bands like Jr. Ewing, Totalt Jävla Mörker, Amanda Woodward, Silence The Foe and many other, us including with the song "all hat, no cattle". We will also appear on a Norwegian compilation made by the National Radio Broadcast, including a lot of soon to be rockstars/forgotten/neglected bands. Anyway, we are glad to spread the song "all hat, no cattle", once again, and this time duplictated in over 10000 copies.
We have not rehearsed since the ending of the touring, but we will start again this week, when everyone is done with exams and other 9 to 5 stuff. a lot of new songs and is already written, even some lyrics. Looking forward to share it with the whole band, and maybe you when it's done. It will take some time. Kurt and Trommas has been occupied with their other band Sexy Police, Grind Core it is. Eskild has also involved himself in some weird but fun project. More to come.

Future

We will try to do nothing besides making new songs for the next 3 months. We will play one show at the By:larm festival and maybe something in trondheim up front. In march or april or whenever we have made enough songs we will enter the studio, or plug up the Mbox at least. The plan is to release the album sometime at the end of the summer. We will soon start to book new tours in Norway and Europe. More info about that later. Please contact us if you would like a visit next fall on your local sqaut/jugendhaus/club/bar/livingroom/bathroom/sportarena/theatre/festival. Our mail is desperado@deadletterrecords.net
