Drums and I recorded some drum tracks this weekend with our friend Mysterious Casey. When you have a total of three instruments in your band, putting 1 and 2 together sounds amazing. I had my own mind blown and I have heard these songs probably ten thousand times.
The bitch of recording is listening to what you recorded two months ago with a ear that's been tuned to a metronome for 60 days in a row.
Things must be re-recorded.

The recording has really been going awesome. "Drums" and I have recorded in the past, but now that the piano is in it's new home (my parents' home), we're getting better sound and more ass-blasting performances than ever. It's much easier to hit a solo when you're not expecting a death metal band to rock your wall down at any second -- or a Persian hip hop group to also do that.
We've decided to release a series of EP's to cover our extensive reperetoire. That way we can keep a steady stream of piano speed metal blasting your face once the flow gets going.

"Drums" and I have requisitioned a room in my parents' house to record our multi album. After recording 4 songs, we discovered condenser mics should be perpendicular to the piano soundboard instead of diagonal.
We also discovered the AC has to be turned off.

The best gig ever.
Though it was short, it was the sweetest, and several hot babes were seen dancing together to a Spice Girls cover known as 2become1. Did they hook up after the show thinking about The Dicktastics? Probably.
Like usual, thanks to everyone who came out. Everyone who didn't can eat shit.

Another awesome show. Our set list included some old favorites, plus the following spicy accoutrements:
While My Guitar Gently Weeps Dick In A Box
No guitar has ever wept so sexfully.
For those of you who couldn't figure out the "Open Bar", the free bar was the smaller bar in the other room. Not worth missing a note in my opinion. Note that this bar is also occasionally "free" when unannounced as it is occasionally left unmanned by a bartender and the Sam Adams isn't bolted down.
For future reference, if you are unable to find free booze, follow the ten foot tall blonde guy with MARS on his t-shirt. He was able to incapacitate himself by 8:30.
Next gig: Rollerderby at the Viper Room. Sunday May 27th 7:00PM.

Check this bad boy out. I think it's pretty awesome. They even spelled us right and gave us a military font (or a font for stenciling numbers into driveways).
Come to our next show at the Derby May 4th. 8PM Sharp. Open bar 8-9

The best and most awesome gig so far.
You missed some incredible rocking at an incredible venue if you were home watching the Oscars and nursing out of a baby's bottle tonight. This was the first Dicktastics show featuring a keyboard. The keyboard is a Casio that was puchased from Son of Sam.
Apparently there were some lights on ourselves that looked phenomenal (people say). Stay tuned for another Viper Room show in May and a show at the Derby May 5th.
Special thanks to the Bergers from Chicago. And special thanks to Can of Jam for the open bar during our set! This will be featured again on May 5th at the Derby.
Open bar. May 5th. Derby.

I should like to write a blog after every show. That way I'm still drunk and haven't had time to reflect on anything. The show tonight was incredible. It was an orgy of sound in your ear. Here was the set list: Cockblock3r Canonball No One Can Cling Like You Gobstopper Time to Go Maniac HOA Each was as awesome as it sounds and I'll probably have some mp3's up by the weekend. Also playing at the Derby tonight were Leah V - who had their first show and they were pretty rockin I must say. Also Leah herself is cuter than anything I have ever seen. And The Mulhollands - who are awesome and have a lead singer who is as hot as she is talented and seriously rocks. I guess it was a night for chicks to rock out. Whatevs. If you didn't come, you missed a sandwich of hot musical ladies starring Dicktastics meat right in between. At this point, I'm not going to say who or who did not throw up in a Jack in the Box Drive Thru after the show, but I will say that it happened, and that someone did it. And it wasn't me! Come to the Viper Room Sunday the 25th. I am going to destroy that place. dax

Far and away the most rockin show so far. Even in the stale, ghost town that is Los Angeles following the two week Xmas booze fest, The Dicktastics had a crowd full of piss and vim; some coming all the way from Sin City to enjoy the piano explosion. We were graced by the vocal stylings of Julia Garlington of Married By Elvis in a special duet of the Elvis classic Always on My Mind. Willie Nelson wrote it, but what am I some hick? I don't think so. This show also featured the bass jamnomenon Kiara Geller. Look for more Kiara at our next show on the 25th of Jan. Same Derbs.
