For all our peeps in the Glasgow area, we'd like to remind you all that this Saturday Discopia is celebrating it's 2nd Birthday Party, as part of "Death Disco" at Glasgow's legendary Arches! We have a special guest in the form of Belgian Italo and Acid House maestro DJ SPACID, head of the excellent Italo and nu-disco label Radius. We will be recording the show for future broadcast, and giving away lots of things like t-shirts, stickers, cds, and also hosting a charity raffle with the prize of getting to pop James Pole's "man-cherry"! Only kidding - but it will be a great night anyway, so get your glad rags on and get ready to boogie!

Yo Homebodies, Here comes your second installment in the "So What's New On The Discopia SOUNDS Page?" series! Well, we have a brand new Trippy Disco mix for you, starting the year as we mean to go on, with the deeply spaced out "6AM Eternal" mix. It will take you on an aural journey, man, from the Balearic bliss of Laurie Anderson and the Korgis to glitch pop James Bond themes, and from some classic deep house and disco boogie by the likes of Daniel Wang and the Idjut Boys, all the way to some Cosmic-style slo-mo madness… perfect for that hazy Sunday morning retreat from harsh reality! Let your ears embark on the adventure right now… http://media.discopia.com/audio/6AM Eternal.mp3 Keep checking back with us, as in the next few weeks we will be hosting new mixes from the likes of Greg Wilson, Laser Magnetic, Todd Terje, and a whole host of Glsgow disco talent, including the Discopia All-Stars look back at 2006! Keep it Disco!

Hey Disco Addicts, Just a short note to let you know I have uploaded the very first TRIPPY DISCO mix I created (dating from way back in June of 2000AD) to the Discopia server for you all to listen to. And yes, while the mix is six years old, it has dated surprisingly well, with only one cheesy spinback to be heard in all its 80 minutes! Plus plenty of that late 90-'s Nuphonic style disco cut-up action that I still can't help but love so much. So if you're wondering what "Trippy Disco" is all about (even though I think the name is self-explanatory, I still get asked all the time!), you can now listen to some of the roots of the sound for yourself… Enjoy! http://media.discopia.com/audio/TrippyDisco2000.mp3 Niall

Yes, that's right disco diggers, this week on the Discopia Show we are honoured to have a guest mix by none other than the crown prince of Norwegian Disco, and one of the best DJs in the world today, Prins Thomas! In one of the best guest mixes we have had on the show to date, Thomas (Feedelity/Full Pupp/Eskino/mate of Lindstrom… you know who we mean!) serves up a blinding blend of deep disco, spaced-out house, electronic oddities and zombie funk. Ably hosted by Discopia's own James Pole, with his own Utrecht-acquired crate of rare psyhefunk and balearic disco, this is definitely one show you will not want to miss! Simply follow the link below for the Prinsy goodness… http://www.radiomagnetic.com/shows/index.php?id=276 Enjoy!

Disco Warriors! Need I remind you that Discopia number 9 is now online and dying to be read? No? Good! You may also be interested to know that we are hosting a very special Maurice Fulton mix special on Discopia right now. Maurice was in Glasgow back at the start of September, and we managed to get him down to the radio studio to record some music. Unfortunately everything fucked up, from the equipment to the day's schedule, but being an incredibly decent chap Maurice agreed to send us some of the tapes of his own Sheffiled based radio show, and we now have them on our website for your listening pleasure. From disco to house to jazz to wigged out rock, everything you know and love about the Fultonizer is here. Just click below and enjoy! http://media.discopia.com/audio/MauriceFultonFiles.mp3

That's right, the latest edition of everyone's favourite Disco webzine is online now! Featuring an exclusive new article by Daniel Wang on Discotheque Acoustics, and interviews with the likes of Legowelt, Casco, Marco Bernardi, Prince Language and much much more, surely at this stage I don't have to tell you all just how good this magazine is? Also, for a limited time, the Discopia MySpace, which is linked below, is hosting the full version of the Trippy Disco re-edit of Giorgio Moroder's classic "Utopia", and it is available to everyone to download – for nish! This has been burning up dancefloors around the country for a while now, but you can get your hands on it – yes – for NISH!!! Nish means nothing for non-British and Irish readers. So check it out, and don't forget the Discopia Show which is streamed through Radio Magnetic…

What a Discopia show we have lined up for you this week! We've only gone and gotten an exclusive interview with Cybernetic Broadcasting System's legendary Inter-Ferenc aka DJ I-F, and also Danny Wolfers aka Legowelt, recorded after this summer's Robot Disco Terror party in Glasgow. Ferenc and Danny talk about playing techno, the CBS, disco bootlegs and their upcoming releases. And that's not all! We also have a scorching Italo/House/Electro mix from Robot Disco Terror/Mighty Robot Records head honcho, David Bowie. Yes, that is his real name. Check out the label, for some audio snippets and more info, at www.mightyrobot.co.uk. Niall is also on hand with some disco and electro pop. Need I say more? I think not. Yowsah!

Hey Music Lovers! We have a delightful mix for you this week on the Discopia Show – care of none other than DJ RAMAR one of the founding members of London's VOICES COLLECTIVE. Ramar, or John to his Mum, dropped in to the studio at the start of the summer and laid down 70-odd minutes of rare disco/Balearic/electro and all that goodness you regularly listen to Discopia for. Having already had Alex Pe Win on the Show, we have now covered two third of the Voices posse, and eagerly await a visit from Mr Cedric Woo! Niall will also be on hand with some spaced oddities and random chat. And listeners, don't say we're not good to you! Check out the amazing line-up that we have coming to your earholes this season - we have exclusive mixes from Daniel Wang, Darshan Jesrani, Prins Thomas, Mighty Robot Recordings, Todd Terje recorded live at Disco Not Disco, The Maurice Fulton Files, Billy Woods, Lazer Magnetic, and much much more… Excited yet? You should be! Stay Tuned…
