KAMCHATKA - "Volume III" ****

On their third release the Swedish power trio continue to build further on the bridge from the island of jamming to the mainland of classic rock.
KAMCHATKAs fabulous core is mainly found in Confessions and Outnumbered. Exquisitely constructed with hard and soft components the tracks take the listener to glittering song parts. Guitar solos enter and paint an emotionally stuffed musical portrait.

The special thing about KAMCHATKA is their imagination and a seemingly reckless exploration of rock's boundaries. But still, it isn't as good on a couple of tracks. Mildly said. On See, and especially Wood, I actually just want to press "mute". Not only for the hesitant approach that makes me blush; the experience is simply tame and filled with too many unnecessary turns.

Yet the somewhat unmeaning Pathetitc highlights with aces like Confessions the essence of this Varberg platoon. A instinctive feel that mainly lies in the guitar playing and the arrangements.

To take in "Volume III" is daring to listen to a fantasy filled procreation. Where the doubtful in any case is interesting. Moreover, a bubbling understanding for the band's musical mission reaches constantly the surface within the listener. Still hesitating whether this release is something to bet on? Then the seventh track Sorg will convince you of the mental wideness you can enjoy in the company of KAMCHATKA. Even the closing with a superb cover of THE ALLMAN BROTHERS BAND Whipping Post is pleasure like an ice cream in the sunshine.

En su tercera emisión el power trio sueco sige construyendo el puente desde la isla de el atasco hasta el continental de el rock clásico.
Es principalmente en Confessions y Outnumbered que el núcleo fabuloso de KAMCHATKA se encuentra. Exquisitamente construidas con componentes duros y blandos las canciónes llevan el oyente hacia secciones brillantes. Solos de guitarras entran y pintan un retrato musical lleno de emoción.

Lo especial con KAMCHATKA es justo su imaginación y una aparentemente despiadada exploración de los límites del rock. Pero a su vez el fracaso tambien se muestra en algunas canciones. Por decir lo menos. En See, y especialmente en Wood, quiero en realidad sólo apretar “mudo”. No sólo por los enfoques vacilantes que me hacen sonrojar, la experiencia es simplemente dócil y llena de demasiadas vueltas innecesarias.

El un poco insípido Pathetitc destaca con ases como Confessions la esencia de este pelotón de Varberg. La sensación de su pericia se encuentra principalmente en la guitarra y los arreglos de las composiciones.

Experienciar "Volume III" es atreverse escuchar una obra llena de fantasía. En caso de lo dudoso, en cualquier caso es interesante. Además burbujea constantemente una comprensión de la misión musical de la banda hacia el superficie dentro de el oyente. ¿Dudas de si esta emisión es algo en que debes apuestar? Entonces la séptima canción Sorg te convencera de la ventaja mental que puedes disfrutar en la compañía de KAMCHATKA. Incluso el fin con su versión magnífica de Whipping Post de ALLMAN BROTHERS BAND es un placer como un helado en el sol.

På sitt tredje släpp snickrar den svenska powertrion vidare på bron från jammets ö till den klassiska rockens fastland.
Det är främst i Confessions och Outnumbered som KAMCHATKAs fabulösa kärna återfinns. Utsökt uppbyggda med hårda och samtidigt mjuka komponenter tar spåren med lyssnaren till glittrande låtpartier. Gitarrsolona träder in och målar ett känslospäckat musikaliskt porträtt.

Det speciella med KAMCHATKA är just deras uppfinningsrikedom och ett till synes hänsynslöst utforskande av rockens gränser. Men visst slår det fel på några spår. Milt sagt. På See och speciellt Wood vill jag faktiskt bara trycka på mute. Inte nog för att de tveksamma uppläggen får mig att rodna, upplevelsen blir helt enkelt bara tam och fylls av för många onödiga svängar.

Den något intetsägande Pathetitc framhäver ändå tillsammans med ess som Confessions essensen av denna Varbergspluton. En fingertoppkänsla som främst ligger i gitarrliret och arrangemangen.

Att ta in "Volume III" är att våga lyssna in ett fantasifyllt alster. Där det tveksamma i alla fall är intressant. Dessutom bubblar en förståelse för bandets musikaliska mission ständigt upp till ytan hos lyssnaren. Tvekar du på ifall detta släpp är något att satsa på? Då övertygar det sjunde spåret Sorg dig om de mentala försprången du kan åtnjuta i KAMCHATKAs sällskap. Även avslutningen med en suverän cover på THE ALLMAN BROTHERS BAND Whipping Post är en njutning likt en glass i solskenet.

NERVOUS NELLIE - Ego & the Id ****

The two pairs of brothers create a getaway in this their second release. A sort of mental oasis for frozen and spring longing souls. The image on the cover is just a taster of the vivid sound the album holds. The storm of delight you are drawn into feels neither forced on nor pretentious.

There is much that distinct NERVOUS NELLIEs work from mediocre pop, rock and folk acts. Take, for example, their frankness that could as well become silly. The depth that could have turned out overblown. And the music's simplicity that easily could have been the sort of vacuous drivel we are fed daily with.

What speaks against the "Ego & the Id" is that it doesn't really please the rocker inside. But is more like cosy snuggling, and occasionally somnolent. But, even if it's tough writing it out; music doesn't always have to be distorted.

Tangle to Unwinds grand piano playing is a charged unit that conveys a bitter sweet feeling. With almost the same releasing force as QUEENs Don't stop me now does Ever so slight pull out all that is good. Piano, floating metallic guitar pick's and a poetry that is almost healing.

With hey bale-romance and sensitivity the quartet creates a lovely assortment with Sweet One. It lights the desire to put the album on repeat. Take the chance to get your well-needed recharging in the dreary Swedish weather with this warmth therapy!

NERVOUS NELLIE - Ego & the Id ****

Los dos pares de hermanos crean un refugio en su segundo album. Una especie de oasis para almas congeladas que desean primavera. La imagen en el album es sólo una pequeña muestra del sonido vivo que el disco contiene. La tormenta de alegría que sientiras no es forzada ni pretenciosa.

Mucho distingue NERVOUS NELLIE contra actos mediocre de pop, rock y folk. Tomemos, por ejemplo, su franqueza, que podría haber salido ridiculo. La profundidad que se podría haber salido exagerada. Y la simplicidad de la música que fácilmente podría haber sido el tipo de tonterías vacías con que nos alimentan diariamente.

Lo qué habla en contra de "Ego y el Id" es que realmente no agrada los rockeros. Sin más como caricias dulces y, en ocasiones, soporífero. Pero, y me cuesta escribir esto; la música no no necesita siempre ser distortada.

El gran piano de Tangle to unwind es una entidad cargada que transmite una sensación agridulce. Con casi la misma fuerza liberante que hay en la cancion Don’t stop me now de QUEEN saca adelante Ever so slight todo lo que es bueno. Piano, guitarra flotante metálica y una poesía que casi es como curación.

Con romance á la balas de heno y sensibilidad el cuarteto crea un bonito surtido en Sweet one. Eso crea el deseo de repitir el disco. Toma la oportunidad de obtener tu recargacion necesaria en el clima sombrío Sueco con esta terapia de calor!

NERVOUS NELLIE - Ego & the Id ****

De båda brödraparen skapar en tillflyktsort på sitt andra släpp. En sorts mental oas för nedfrysta och vårlängtande själar. Bilden på konvolutet är bara en försmak av det levande sound skivan rymmer. Glädjestormen du rycks med i känns varken påtvingad eller pretentiös.

Mycket skiljer NERVOUS NELLIEs alster från mediokra pop-, rock- och folkakter. Ta exempelvis deras rättframhet som hade kunnat låta flamsig. Djupet som hade kunnat yttrat sig överdrivet. Och musikens enkelhet som lätt hade kunnat bli den sortens innehållslösa dravel vi dagligen blir matade med.

Det som talar emot "Ego & the id" är att den inte riktigt behagar rockern. Utan är mer åt myshångel, och stundtals sövande. Men, även om det är tar emot att skriva det, musik behöver ju inte alltid vara distad.

Tangle to unwinds storslagna pianospel är en laddad enhet som förmedlar en bitterljuv känsla. Med nästan samma frigörande kraft som QUEENs Dont stop me now drar Ever so slight fram allt som är gott. Piano, svävande metalliskt gitarrplock och en lyrik som nästan är helande.

Med höbalsromantik och fingertoppskänsla skapar kvartetten en ljuvlig sorti med Sweet one. Det är sådant som tänder begäret att sätta skivan på repeat. Ta chansen att få din välbehövda uppladdning i det ruskiga svenska vädret med denna värmeterapi!
