Current mood:  accomplished

So the machine was kicking my butt when it came to the embrodary - so I did it by hand.  My goal is to have one block done per day.  There's only 4 blocks that need to be done by hand.  I finished the first last night.  Not too happy with one of the details in it, but it was unconsiously done, will be in an upper corner & it took a lot of work to get it done, I don't honestly want to go back and rip all that work out and redo it for something Summer doesn't even understand right now and really isn't meant to be!  It's a flower NOT a swastika!

Current mood:  pissed off
OMG I am so pissed at WB & IMAX right now - they released news that they are pushing HPB back 8 months for the release date!  Seriously WTF?  They've admitted its all about the money, though tried to sugar-coat it with saying "we love our fans".  If you love your frickin fans then why the hell push the movie we're all on pins and needles for to earn a few extra bucks.  Who the hell cares if your production in the summer is gonna falter because you CORPORATE SCUM BAGS tried to strong-arm the writers union into an unfair contract.  It isn't our fault you are a bunch of greedy ass money mongrols like all the other corportations out there.  If I didn't love the movies so much I'd say screw it - but unfortunately they know they'll still get their money no matter what, I'm still PISSED OFF!  It may make me think twice about the next WB production though.

Current mood:  drained

I guess the doctor had called while I was typing last night and let Jamie know that Sye had pulled through the surgery well and was stable.  She called this morning before leaving to let me know that his vitals are good and he isn't having any unstable heartbeats and to let us know that he's standing.  They, of course, are still giving him morphine to help with the pain and all.  She said Dr. Panda (lol) will be taking over his case this weekend and she'll keep us informed on what's going on.  We are still looking at getting him sometime on Sunday if everything goes well enough.  I think Jamie is gonna call and see if he can go see him today.  If any more happens I'll post something.

Zac is still having fevers but they are coming down and he's got a bit more color to him this morning.  He's taking the day off and resting so hopefully we'll get over this.  Summer said her ear is feeling better this morning but I'm going to try and get her an appointment sometime today or tomorrow.

Jamie skipped out of the last day of his conference today, so he can 'help' me today.  Hehehe

Well Zac’s room is done and all ready to go!  Spent nearly all afternoon in here.  I have 14 outfits ready in his drawers for him and he has a select few toys to still play with...the rest are all boxed up for either storage or shipping.

I’m off to cook dinner and spend the rest of the evening in Summer’s room...then tomorrow after we finish up downstairs I’ll be spending the rest of the day finishing my room.  What fun!

I also got my car fully detailed - I told the kids & Jamie that if they mess it up at ALL between now and the time we get it sold/given away I am gonna kill them!  It looks actually really good - just needs a good car wash, but with it drizzling today I wasn’t about to wash a car just for it to dirty from rain again!!!

To all,
For anyone who may have heard - typhoon Man-Yi is headed in our direction right now.  Although the weather report is showing that is will be likely turning into a tropical storm by the time it reaches us here in Yokosuka, we are still on typhoon watch.  According to the typhoon tracker on Weather Underground it was a Cat4 Typhoon at one point but is now around a Cat2 as it rounds into Sasebo.

Kids and I are doing well, I'm not too overly concerned with it.  I'll keep a watch on it and update as it nears or if any drastic changes have been made.
It wrecked some havoc in Okinawa with some conflicting reports coming in with 17 injuries to 28 deaths, winds are 100+mph right now.  It should hit mainland this morning sometime. Again, I'll keep you as up-to-date as I can & need be.  The kids and I have been through plenty of these warnings before and are looking forward to a "movie day".  I stocked up on snacks & movies today and we're planning on sitting in Sunday watching the movies till the storm passes.

Current mood:  amused

If you've personally known me for any length of time you will know that I am the furthest thing from an organizational professional.  I am one of those people that Oprah profiles and sends a professional organizer into the home to teach how to manage things.  But in the past few weeks I've become Little Miss Organization somehow...I have a million things in my head about how I can better organize my house and am *finally* beginning to take steps, small ones, but steps nonetheless in doing it.  I still have a FAR FAR FAR way to go, but the little things I've gotten done so far feel so good & well accomplished!!!

My good friend Misty gave us some furniture she no longer wanted which has helped out SO much in just the past few hours.  She gave us this bookcase that I placed next to the door.  I've decided to store the kids shoes that normally just get kicked off and piled into a heap by the door in the cupboard.  I put my purse & the small basket I had on the floor to hold the scarves, mittens, and snow caps in there as well.  Out of sight = no visible clutter.  And because it has shelves on it, I'm FINALLY able to display some of my pictures.  I am not good about hanging pictures on the walls.  It's much easier for me to just set them on shelves and this gives me the place to do so now.  YEAH...  It feels a bit more homey already!!

Then she gave us this microwave cart that I originally thought I'd store all my cookbooks in, but decided I am going to put some of my cookbooks in it, the ones I use often...but in the bottom I finally have a place to store the dog food, toys, and supplies!  YEAH...things are finally finding a home in my house!!!

I realize that sea duty is not all fun & games and FAR FAR FAR from a pleasure cruise...but oh to have the life of hitting ports and experiencing things like Jamie gets to!  He went on a snowboarding trip with MWR today while in Sapparo and just emailed me all about it.  Not that I know anything about skiing or snowboarding, other than what I hear from him or see on tv during the winter olympics...it takes too much coordination for me to manage either of those - though I think I'd look cute in a ski suit...hummm... - anyways, so he tells me how perfect the weather was - warm then snow, warm then snow...perfect powder and no crowds.  Said this was the best snowboarding trip he's ever been on and it beats out anything in Utah!  (again no clue)

It sounded like fun though, I am glad he got to go and had a good time - I know he's been DYING to snowboard for a long time!!!!  Maybe if I get out to Kansas this year I'll bring his board home to him FINALLY - after 10+ years of not having it!!!!  LOL
