We are looking to update our MySpace Player more frequently with tracks from both local and touring bands booked to play  at The Doghouse.

If any band has any tracks they'd like to send us for a possible future feature on our player could you email preferably in MP3 format (others should be ok) to music@doghousepub.co.uk . Alternatively drop in a CD at The Doghouse marked clearly "FOR MYSPACE"

You don't need to have a gig currently lined up.

Band members with staff and friends at the new venue.

Band members with staff and friends at the new venue. THE DOGHOUSE, one of Dundee’s best-known live music venues, opens it doors once again this weekend, albeit in a different place. A converted church in Ward Road has been leased for 10 years to Sarah Hill, who managed the old premises on Brown Street. A private party was held in the new venue last night to herald the dawn of a new era for the Doghouse. Local group Lefty and Friends helped christen the new venue by playing a set. They were joined on stage by local experimental group Hanney. Tonight the premises will be officially opened to the public with performances by upcoming acts such as The Twist and The Brogues. Ms Hill said, “We have created a place for new bands struggling for creative space to create new music.” She tipped several local acts who have frequently played and rehearsed at the original venue, such as The Law and Luva Anna, for great things. Stevie Anderson, guitarist with The Law, congratulated Ms Hill on securing the new venue before his set with Lefty and Friends. He said, “The Doghouse has played a big part in the success of The Law, as we were allowed to use the old venue to rehearse for free, and when we played gigs the crowds were always receptive. “Sarah’s done a really good job with the new venue and I’m sure it will still be an important part of the Dundee music scene.” Brian Harris, vocalist with Hanney, said he felt the spirit of the original Doghouse would live on. He said, “The Doghouse is much more than just a building; it’s a community of people who love music —it’s the people there who make it what it is.” http://www.thecourier.co.uk/output/2009/09/19/newsstory13811010t0.asp

Saturday, September 05, 2009
Hi everyone,

as we are reopening in a new venue on 18th September we are now taking bookings for band. We are looking to carry on the great tradition of music into the new venue so are eager to hear some new bands, the next generation.

We DO NOT DO PAY TO PLAY but offer bands a cut of the door. We don't stipulate, nor put pressure on bands to bring a certain amount of people but everyone must understand that an empty venue is beneficial to neither promoter nor band.
We promise to promote your show to the best of our ability utilising a number of mediums - posters, flyers, local press, mailing list, online promo through social networking sites. All that we ask is that you put in an equal amount of effort.

Bands can contact us via myspace or by using the email addresses which are located on the front page of our myspace.

We look forward to hearing from all of you.
