NBC SEARCHES FOR CONTENDERS AND GLADIATORS FOR THE RETURN OF THE POPULAR SERIES "AMERICAN GLADIATORS"

CASTING CALLS TO TAKE PLACE IN LOS ANGELES, NEW YORK, CHICAGO, MIAMI AND DALLAS STARTING SATURDAY, SEPTEMBER 8

BURBANK –September 6, 2007 – NBC is bringing back the classic competition series "American Gladiators" and will be auditioning both contenders and gladiators for the upcoming season beginning Saturday, Sept. 8 in Los Angeles before moving onto four additional cities around the U.S including New York, Chicago, Miami and Dallas.

The show's contenders are "weekend warriors" who have excelled and take pride in their level of fitness and want to test their physical ability in the Gladiator Arena. The "gladiators" are a charismatic and eclectic group of warriors who are ready to take down our everyday challengers with hard knocks and explosive attitudes.

As in the traditional "American Gladiators" franchise, the everyday athletes compete against the professionals in physically challenging contests. Classic events such as the joust, The Wall, Hang Tough and the Eliminator will be played in front of an arena filled with thousands of rabid spectators.

Casting Call -  Deal or No Deal  8/30/07

 If you were unable to attend an open call, please submit a video tape. Follow the instructions below to find out how.

TO BE CONSIDERED AS A CONTESTANT: 1. Make a 5-minute personal videotape of you and the supporters you wish to have appear with you on TV. 2. Fill out an application (include a recent photo of each person) 3. Send it to our contestant department.

1. Making Your Videotape Making a videotape audition for the program is very easy. Using a video camera, make us a 5-minute tape that tells us a little about yourself and what you would do with $1,000,000. Be sure to include the people you would like to appear with you on-camera as your "supporters." Be creative, show us your personality - tell us what makes you unique. Please start with your name and hometown. There is no "right" or "wrong" thing to say on your tape, we just want to get to know you.

Make sure we can see and hear you clearly. -Label the tape with your name address and phone number. -We can only accept VHS tapes (The ones that fit in your VCR). Transferring your camcorder tape to VHS can be accomplished easily. Use the Red, White, and Yellow cables that come with your camera to connect it to your VCR. Push play on your camera, and Record on your VCR. Please run a test and make sure your transfer worked properly. -Be Kind, Rewind. Rewinding your tape to the beginning greatly increases our fondness for you.

2. Filling out the Application: Adobe Reader is required to view the application. Click here to download a free copy if you do not have it installed. Producers of the upcoming CBS show Kid Nation are already looking for 40 new contestants of the ages of 8-15 for season 2.

He's mostly soft-spoken, and largely driven by a sort of nervous energy, and so the actor who plays him needs to be really good at stammering/adlibbing lines, in addition to either being able to either fake clumsiness really well or be naturally clumsy. The actor who plays him will also need to be capable of some really emotional and intense dramatic moments. The actor also should not have any aversion to the possibility of wearing a camera device, such as a snorricam.

Female / 31-40 yrs. / Any Ethnicity - Mrs. Sheridan exists in the story only over the telephone. She needs to not only sound like a middle-aged woman, but also sound slightly withdrawn and hurt when leaving the voice messages. Since this is a voice role only, theoretically, any woman capable of creating and sustaining such a voice would be well suited to the part; they don't necessarily have to be in their forties to get the part, although it won't hurt anything if they are in that age range.

He needs to be taller than Adrian, but not excessively so, and his voice needs to seem way more grounded than Adrian's is. But the single most important aspect of Rick is his age. He needs to look visibly older than Adrian; it is imperative that the actor who plays Rick be at least in his thirties, if not forties. Rick needs to appear like he's been around long enough to have some wisdom that he can impart to Adrian, albeit in an unconventional manner.
