I've received some messages through MySpace asking for updates.  The blog has been moved, and Season 16 is well underway.  Please stop by the official blog and check out our progress!  http://underdogtheorem.wordpress.com

Book Celebrates 15 Years of Outperforming Wall Street Using NFL Strategy

"The Underdog Theorem: How to Bet on the NFL and Win While Outperforming Wall Street" teaches fans how to predict events of every NFL season.

New York, NY (PRWEB) July 9, 2008 -- In his new book author Eddie Getz explains the NFL betting strategy that has defeated Wall Street's major indexes over the past 15 years. "The Underdog Theorem: How to Bet on the NFL and Win While Outperforming Wall Street" is written for the sports gambler and non-sports gambler alike. It presents a new idea, demonstrates its success, and aims to change the way fans view each NFL season.

"The Underdog Theorem is an idea that has been overlooked by every sports fan," says Getz. "Yet readers will see that it seems slightly obvious in hindsight."

June 26, 2008 - Thursday

I love MySpace for meeting people -- NFL fans, sports bettors, Tila Tequila, but the blogging has been kind of rough.  I've moved over to WordPress and it's been a much easier site to use.  Hopefully you'll stop in at my fancy new address:  http://underdogtheorem.wordpress.com

I'll still put updates on this blog and try to keep the two in sync.  Look forward to hearing from you and bets of luck this year!  Eddie

February 4, 2008 - Monday

Congratulations to the Giants, who helped show that no team will go undefeated in the NFL for a very long time, if ever again.  What an incredible season.  It was the best of my life.  As far as the Theorem goes... on their way to losing their first game of the 2007 campaign, the Patriots lost against the spread 8 out of their last 9 games.  Imagine if there were a book out there, perhaps it would be called something catchy, like The Underdog Theorem, that told you, among other things, to bet against the undefeated team and outperform Wall Street?  Is that something you might be interested in?  If so, check it out in the offseason and get ready for another great year!

December 31, 2007 - Monday

This entry was written after the amazing outcome of Week 17, when the New England Patriots became the first team to finish a season 16-0.  I am still completely blown away by this.  I’ll post more later, but below is the play for Week 17, I didn’t post it before the game, but every reader of The Underdog Theorem knew what to do.  Another incredible year and we’re still going!  Shout out to the four goofballs livin large in Vegas.  Told ya so.  Congratualtions to everyone who had a great year.

This 15th season is officially the Underdog Theorem's longest ever!  As incredibly unlikely as it is, it would be sweet to watch the Dolphins protect their 1972 feat and defeat the Patriots.  We'll take the 22 and another Miami loss any day though.

The Dolphins did their part, now the Pats need to do theirs.  UTG has returned 104% so far this year, while our conservative vehicle, the UTV fund, has returned 47%.  It's been an exciting 15th season, I  can't wait to see what happens next!  Click here to buy the book.

Early birds could have had the Jets getting 27 points.  My boys averaged about 23.5 on this, but it worked out, now it's down to 21.  Phins aren't getting respect at home, but they are getting points!  3 for them, down from 3.5 earlier in the week.  Bets of luck all.

December 14, 2007 - Friday

Not much new last week - the Patriots looked incredibly strong, while the Dolphins looked incredibly weak.  This should help the Underdog Theorem down the home stretch as the lines adjust based on the perceptions that - the Patriots cannot be defeated and the Dolphins cannot win.  Right now that works out to us getting 27 points in Week 15, but check back just before game time!

UTG investors are a separate breed, divas who require casino pampering.  Forget about them.

This is a note for UTV investors.  You might want to consider the possibilities of the next few weeks.  Great case scenario, you could finish the season around 75% return or better.  That would truly trounce Wall Street in even its best years.  However, given how bad the Dolphins are, this is highly unlikely.  And you could actually end up in the red for the season if they continue to stumble around the field.

Therefore, if you are going to stick with the Underdog Theorem for the long haul, as I advise (this means several seasons), then I say stick with the Underdog Theorem's plays each week.

If this season was just a test run for you to see if this thing really works, well now you see that it does, so maybe you start to think about cashing out and using your winnings to buy a few more copies of
The Underdog Theorem for Christmas for your friends and family!  What a stocking stuffer!
December 4, 2007 - Tuesday

The season continues, but we've reached a checkpoint.  As explained in The Underdog Theorem, a checkpoint is a time when no bankroll is outstanding, making it easy to tally the percent return for that season.

The Dow Jones Industrial Average is having a tough time right now, but the Underdog Theorem is not.  So far this season, UTG has 88% return, UTV has 23% return.  This is the 'While Outperforming Wall Street' piece.  But let's only celebrate briefly.  One really good and one really bad team are stubbornly holding on.  We could still suffer some hits to the bankroll.  If you'd like to cash out now, that's your call, we'll continue to post the results here.  Great work everyone!

December 2, 2007 - Sunday

Now this is a crazy week.  The Patriots are still giving record high spreads, while the winless Dolphins are FAVORED in their game.  They are high risk this week, which is explained in the book.  Only one play as a result.

These spreads are not typos.  On just two games Underdog Theorem bettors are getting FORTY-ONE points.  That is outrageous.  Let's hope all the pros show up to play as they're paid to do.  And let's hope H thinks about hitting the treadmill some so he's no longer dead weight.  Ease up on the minibar bro.
