An older song of mine, "Come to the Gathering" was on volume 14 of the WSVN Radio's series of CD's. Now they are letting people vote for the best single on each volume for an upcoming compilation of "Best of". If you want to support my track being on there, you can vote here.

http://www.wsvnradio.net/local/bestof/vote/volume14poll.html

There is no registration required. Enter your name, email address and click the radio button next to my name. Any support will be most welcome. WSVN says,

"From now until June 10, you, your friends and family
can vote (as many times as you like), your song as the
best for our upcoming BEST OF compilation. "

Though I think you can only have one vote per day.

Thanks everyone! I don't normally do "contests" or the like. I just happened to be in there because I was on the volume 14 compilation. So I thought, hmmm it would be nice to gather some votes and represent in this. :) If you do go to the page, by all means I'd encourage you to listen to as many tracks as interest you. You might make a 'discovery' there of an artist you really like. Definitely support indie artists when you can!

Thanks so much!

News of the passing of Kurt Vonnegut was just one of the many sad bits of information streaming my way last week. I know, he was 84, a heavy smoker and had suffered brain damage from a fall. So the news came as no big shocker. Yet, his influence on so many in my generation gives the news of his passing a special kind of sorrow.

Perhaps it was his writing about the fragility of life in this world (eg. Player Piano) or his first hand accounts of inhumanity (Slaughter House Five) - that make his influence so connected to so many generations of Americans. When I was young, reading him was a guilty pleasure. One that was validated in having sections Slaughter House Five read to my 8th grade history class or being assigned an writing assignment on Mother Night in my freshman creative writing class.

Nonetheless, I composed a track called, "And so it goes..." in honor of one of his most quoted passages. It's available on my soundclick link below.

On the technical side of things, this track was developed around the didjeridu for reason refill that I am currently working on. The entire piece was composed, mixed and mastered within Reason 3.0. Hope you will give it a listen, and even more so, I hope you will pick up one of the author's many works and give it a read. Breakfast of Champions would be a good one ;)  Or perhaps you have a favorite of your own.

     Hi ho!
