Above all, its the Republicans, stupid! As far as being bitter about my economic prospects, I am a college graduate who works as a maintenance technician for $7.50 an hour, so "bitter" is putting it rather generously.
As far as guns, religion, etc., you've named the Republican wedge issues. Add property rights & low taxes, & you have the code name Virginia values. We'll be hearing more about then in the fall, when Jim Gilmore will attempt to use them to smear Mark Warner in the Senate contest.
This is why we can't close the gun show loophole in Virginia, because the House Republicans kill everything in subcommittee. They deliver on guns issues but other than that they pretty much make sure nothing gets done in Richmond. They've been an air brake on the Kaine agenda from Day One.
We should ask Karl Rove what you meant by your remarks. Who was the strategist for Rick Santorum? The conservative strategists are the ones who took the stupidity of the voters in question for granted using guns, religion, etc., & it was guys like you who conviced them to go Democrat by appealing to their intelligence, upholding their guns, religion, etc., but mainly, delivering on the bread & butter issues.
It is urgently imperative for your chances of being nominated that you emphasize the role of the GOP in using the wedge issues. Shame on Hillary for attacking you on a point with which I agree with you 100%, but she is not responsible for this & if you keep counterattacking her it will blow up in your face. You've got to turn it around on the Republicans where the blame belongs.

It’s Sir Elton, who is doing a solo performance in NYC for her. I was offered a chance to buy tickets, but i can’t go. I can’t just copy the e-mail onto here, either, it’s a javascript rat’s nest. I didn’t note the concert date, but look for Sir Elton with her in the days & weeks to come!
I’ve had enough of this Contrasting stuff. I’ve got my own work to get back to. If I get any more e-mails with news that the Big Networks don’t have, I’ll put it here. Ted Stevens has a Democratic challenger for Senate this year, I have that from James Carville.

Dear Friend,
..>
| ..> "Devastating." That's the word used by Republican House member Ray LaHood, a member known for being one of the few Republicans who tells the truth, said in response to the mounting number of Republicans who are calling it quits. So far, 29 Republicans have thrown in the towel -- the highest number in 50 years. We've got to fill the open seats fleeing Republicans are leaving vacant with tough, change-oriented Democrats. To make sure open seats in Congress lead to big change for America, the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee has launched an all-out Open to Change Campaign. We are just $76,000 away from our goal of $300,000 before our February deadline. We need your urgent contribution to put us over the top and if you contribute today it will be matched by House Democrats. Contribute to our Open to Change Campaign and your gift will be matched. Frustrated Republicans are tripping over one another as they head for the exits. Who can blame them? If they face the voters again, they'll have to explain why they stood loyally behind Bush and Cheney through all the failed policies, misguided priorities, and outright incompetence. Right now, the DCCC is actively recruiting candidates, training staff, organizing volunteers and conducting issues research in open seats that hold the promise of Democratic victory in November. With your help, our Open to Change Campaign can have a powerful impact. Let's turn our energy into victory. Make a matched gift to the Open to Change Campaign. 2008 is shaping up as a contest between Republican despair and Democratic energy. With your help, our Open to Change Campaign can harness that energy, turning it into broad victories that strengthen the Democratic majority in the House. We've got the Republicans on the run. Let's keep it that way. On to victory, Paul Begala | ..>

 | ..> Dear Ed, I will never, ever forget how you were there for me when I needed you the most. When you learned that my campaign needed your help, you didn't hesitate. And the overwhelming generosity that you showed in the past week is like nothing I have ever seen. As the race for the nomination continues, I hope you'll remember that you have made this campaign your campaign. Our victories are your victories. I know that you are standing with me and that I can rely on you for help. And with your support, I know we'll win. I wanted to share some of the kind words and stories you've shared with me over the past week, along with some of my favorite recent moments from the campaign trail. Take a look at the album on my website here: http:/www.hillaryclinton.com/thankyou Again, thank you so much for all you have done. My heart is truly full. Sincerely, Hillary Rodham Clinton

Dear Friend,
..>

| ..> I believe the 2008 elections can truly transform American politics -- but only if we have the courage to act. We have to think big again, taking on fundamental issues like poverty and challenging injustice at every turn. And we have to seize every opportunity to move beyond politics as usual. Today, I'm writing to alert you to 29 such opportunities -- that's the stunning number of Republicans in the House of Representatives who have decided not to run for re-election in 2008. They've stood in our way and now they're standing down. And we've got an incredible chance to replace them with strong Democratic leaders who will help end the war, achieve universal health care, challenge poverty, and reduce global warming. Donate $30 or more to the 2008 Open to Change Campaign and your gift will be matched. You and I know that we've got to put the White House in Democratic hands this year. But, we've also got to strengthen our hold on Congress -- breaking the ability that special interests still have to throw obstacles in the path of progress. Friend, your activism has helped put Democrats in a strong position. And in order to seize this historic opportunity, I'm asking you to step forward and stand together with our strong Democratic candidates so we can celebrate Democratic victories. That's what the 2008 Open to Change Campaign is all about. The skilled, savvy and committed political organizers at the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee have developed a detailed plan. With our help, they can turn open seats into big changes. Donate $30 or more to the 2008 Open to Change Campaign and your gift will be matched. I've seen it firsthand. I know how eager the American people are to take our government back and lead our country in a new direction. As a DCCC supporter, you've long been in the forefront of this movement for change. And now you can help recruit, train, support and sustain strong Democratic candidates -- people who can win the seats that running for the hills Republicans have left open to change. These kinds of open seat opportunities don't happen every day. Let's make the most of it. Sincerely, John Edwards | ..>

Dear Ed,
..>
 | ..> When the bright lights are off and the speeches are over, who can you count on to listen to you, to stand up and deliver solutions? Americans need solutions to the challenges they face every single day, and they are depending on us to deliver them. I'm in this race to make a real difference in people's lives, but first I need you to help me win. Critical primaries are approaching, and I need your help now in this neck-and-neck race for the nomination. Contribute now to help us prepare for the next round of primaries. The story of this campaign is your story. It's the story of hundreds of thousands of people who have contributed to this campaign. It's the story of how grassroots supporters came through at the exact right moment -- when I needed you the most. I can't tell you what you've meant to me. You've made the difference for me all along, and now I need you again. There's never been a race for the nomination this close, and what you do right now could be the deciding factor in this race. Contribute today and help me win. Every day on the campaign trail, I talk with people who know how important the result of this race is for themselves and their families. I promise you this: I will do everything in my power to wage a strong campaign worthy of you and all those who are rallying to our cause. Sincerely, Hillary Rodham Clinton

Shut up! Shut up! you interrupted Sen. Clinton's remarks in Richmond & will not report the former president's remarks at Va. Tech. Dana Bash is standingby in Washington to report these caucus stats & Candy has been in Richmond all day to report on the REAL superdelegates. I COULD HAVE GONE to Richmond, I had party emails regarding last minute tickets & my dad bought me a bitcen Honda, but no, I work a key swing shift at a key McDonald's all weekend, hell, my McDonald's knows more than any of you at that desk, Wolf. Shut up & report the damn news!!!

dear dana bash:
i regret to see you stuck on that cotton pickin flight line all day. have you read your AP dispatches at all? well, let me tell you, the action is in Richmond, so it is nearly time for you to board the big bird yourself.
Specifically, Hillary Clinton will attend the Jefferson/Jackson Dinner in Richmond on saturday night. Alas, she did not come in 2006 to congratulate Governor-elect Tim Kaine, who is now an Obama superdelegate but who must nevertheless welcome Sen Hillary Clinton, the same as the Queen of England. So you won't want to miss this.
As for Sen. John McCain, our Sen. John Warner could tell you far more about his forward prospects for the GOP nomination than Ten.
I want to thank you personally for all your hard work in the early primaries, putting a face on political ground zero for the nation. Good luck & God Bless!
to Jack Cafferty
So what the hell is Dana Bash doing on that cotton pickin' flight line in Phoenix anyway? There's no action there! I've been reading the locals & the AP, & I know more that Wolf Blitzer about VA MD DC next week. This is some thickheaded work for the CNN team indeed.
As for Dana Bash, get her on the next plane to Richmond, That's where the real action is. Contact Tim Kaine's press secretary, the Governor's people are very nice.
