ehc new album update #3

so far we really haven't told you much about the album. so i guess it's time you found out. first off, let me tell you that we are
extremely excited about the subject matter. it's an incredible story told from the beginning to the end of the album. we can't tell you what the story is. we'll probably keep that a secret until a week or two before we release it. it's a short story, and thus we will be releasing a six song EP to tell the whole thing. we will be releasing new t-shirts and other new (and fun) merch to coincide with the release.
we're not going to rush something out to you just to meet a deadline, so a release date is not set in stone yet. but we've made great progress the past few weeks. so far we've story-boarded the entire album, split it up into songs, wrote music for most of the songs (still working on one), and conceptualized the lyrics for all 6 songs.
currently, we are working on turning the music we've written into its appropriate structure for each part of the story. certain scenes require a different feel, so instead of making the story fit the music, we're restructuring each song to fit the story. we have subject matter all written out for each song, but once the music is a bit more finalized, we can begin work on actual, permanent lyrics.
this is an very exciting time for us. we're working very very hard on this album to bring you something that you will enjoy and that we will be proud to give you. we've spent many long nights in creating what we have so far. we have a few pictures to show you of us working on different ideas in the studio. there's only one window out there, so it's easy to lose track of time. most of the time we call it a night around 7am when we can no longer even see straight because we're so tired (as the pictures show). if all goes as planned, we should be recording semi-final versions of these songs sometime in late may.
thank you for checking back and keeping an interest in our work. this is our passion, and our lives. you are the one's that keep us going. our fans, our friends. we will be playing shows once we're done recording to promote the record, and we can't wait to see all your smiling faces once again.
