So I had my first guitar lesson tonight at New Braunfels Music.  It was short, but good.  I found out I have a retarded finger.  My index finger on my fret hand doesn't seem to want to straighten out by the time I try to get my ring finger up.  But I will work on that.

One of my assignments was learning the strings and remembering them.  I was given a cheesy acronym for the bottom to top order of the strings.  She prefers memorizing them from top to bottom, tho and didn't offer an acronym.  Before I looked any up, my demented brain came up with: Every Asshole Deserves Giant Butt Eggs.  What "giant butt eggs" are, I have no idea, but it was in my head before I could stop myself.  Of course, thru a search I found some less crude ones.  But by then it was too late.

Aside from that, I have to do some finger work to stretch my fingers out and unretard my index finger. lol.  Wish me and my less fortunate finger luck.

Okay, people.  I am officially disgusted.  I know, I know, it's human nature.  But this is just crazy.

I just read a news story about people grumbling because the government "jumped the gun" and "cried wolf" with Gustav.  Really???  I just wonder how many of these people bitching were the same people who bitched 3 years ago.

(Insert whiney voice here) "We were too poor to get out.  Nobody came to get us."  "The government didn't tell us to leave."  "Uncle Joe died because FEMA didn't do enough."

All legitimate, to an extent, I'm sure.  But now you have people bitching because Gustav DIDN'T wipe out New Orleans.  I had a feeling this would happen, but it is still really shitty to read about.  I guess you can't make all the people happy all of the time.  Hopefully they aren't too busy dogging the government when the next hurricane comes thru and end up on their rooves again.  (Is rooves a word?  It looks funny.  But so did roofs.  Okay, let's go with "on top of their houses.)

Anywho, I just wanted to get that off my chest.  What a bunch of bull poopey.  In the words of the great Patric: WTF, people!?!  It's the great Mother Nature, folks.  Don't fuck with her!

Okay, so I ordered something called gDiapers a couple weeks ago and finally got it in the mail this past Friday.  It's kind of the middle ground between cloth and disposable diapers.  I love them!!!  Craig isn't so crazy about them because they are a tad bit more work than the regular ol' throw aways, but I think they are great.  And it makes me feel better to know that it will only be in a landfill 50 to 150 days instead of 500 years.  (You can flush them, but we have enough issues with our toilets having attitude!  You can compost them, too, but we don't have a pile, yet.)

If you're curious about them, check out www.gdiapers.com  and if you've used them, let me know what you think.

I'm trying to decide between the Canon SD1100 IS and the SD770.  There is not a huge price difference, so that is not a factor at the moment.  I have figured out the 770 has 10 mp compared to 8 mp in the 1100.  Also, from what I've read, the 770 has a longer battery life.  The 1100 has more colors to choose from.

So, for those of you who have either model or know about either model, please let me know what you think.  Thanks, ya'll.

Thanks to all the messages and comments from everyone.  About to head out the door, but wanted to go ahead and post about this really quick.

Took Weezie to the vet for her shots and exam.  Her liver levels were high.  She is on antibiotics for 3 weeks.  If, at the end of the 3 weeks, her levels are still high, they want her to have an ultrasound to see if there is a tumor on her liver.  I am trying not to worry too much right now.  I will cross that bridge when I get to it.  But it's crazy.

Thank you again for your comments and messages.  I will keep everyone updated.
