It's been about three months since we've last spoken. I'm a man of few words. (i prefer action to talking) But, here is what I've got to say, to get some closure for the previous two weeks.

1. RAIN belongs in the city. SNOW is either a white rapper from Canada, or something that does not belong in Portland -both should probably stay in the mountains somewhere.

II. I don't care how comfortable you think they are, UGGS are FUGGLY. and they always have been.

C. While I prefer "Wellies" to Uggs. WELLIES are the new Uggs, everyone who thinks they're cute was wearing 'em. (and back in the day they were named Galoshes.)

things i learned from watching Into The Wild:

1) "When you forgive, you love. And when you love, God's light shines on you."

b) "Happiness is only real when shared."

which goes hand in hand with one of my favorite lessons from film. something i've been saying for a long time...

III) "The greatest thing you'll ever learn is just to love and be loved in return."

oh. and i ain't talking 'bout love, on the fairytale tip; i believe the spirit of all these sayings is to make sure what you have is real, and revel in that. don't get it twisted.

An Obamatopia? (farce, from the Upright Citizen's Brigade)

(thanks stefanie, for FWDing this email)

A little boy goes to his dad and asks, "What is Politics?"

Dad says, "Well son, let me try to explain it this way:"

"I am the head of the family, so call me The President. Your mother is the administrator of the money, so we call her the Government. We are here to take care of your needs, so we will call you the People. The nanny, we will consider her the Working Class. And your baby brother, we will call him the Future. Now think about that and see if it makes sense."

So the little boy goes off to bed thinking about what Dad has said. Later that night, he hears his baby brother crying, so he gets up to check on him. He finds that the baby has severely soiled his diaper.

So the little boy goes to his parent's room and finds his mother asleep. Not wanting to wake her, he goes to the nanny's room. Finding the door locked, he peeks in the keyhole and sees his father in bed with the nanny. He gives up and goes back to bed.

The next morning, the little boy says to his father, "Dad, I think I understand the concept of politics now." The father says, "Good, son, tell me in your own words what you think politics is all about."

The little boy replies, "The President is screwing the Working Class while the Government is sound asleep. The People are being ignored and the Future is in deep shit."

add me, http://twitter.com/elovepdx, because quite frankly i'm not that impressed, but i hear it's better with more friends.

like life, right!?

things are going pretty well. work is excellent, life is full of futbol -with my four teams. and... i don't know. the gorgeous young lady i had my eye stopped talking to me for a couple of weeks, but now things may be better. so that's nice.

trying to get settled out of debt, but i'm moving to a new apartment soon, so deposit, and first and last month's rent kinda makes it hard for now. but it'll be good in a short while.
