Thank you so much to everyone that came out to party with us at HONK! 2009. the band had an amazing weekend and, thanks in large part to the enthusiasm of our audiences, played some of the best performances we’ve ever had. If you’ve got any pictures, video or blog write ups, please don’t hesitate to share them with us. Not ones to rest on our laurels, we’ve got another spectacular event coming up next week! We are proud to be a part of The Big Broadcast of 1938 at the Somerville Theater this Thursday, Friday and Saturday, and these shows promise to be unlike anything we’ve ever done before. The Post-Meridan Radio Players are bringing their annual Halloween staged radio show to the Somerville Theatre for four performances, and this year they've brought in ENSMB to join in the fun. PMRP is well known for their excellent live old-time radio-style dramas, and this show will be their biggest yet. It features a recreation of the 1938 Halloween episode of the long-lost Boston radio classic, The Frank Cyrano Byfar Hour, a Boston-based comedy/variety series from the 30s, and the science fiction thriller The War of the Worlds: The Fall of Boston, the story of what happened in Boston during the infamous Martian Invasion of 1938. With their talented cast, a battery of foley sound effects personnel and ENSMB, we’re going to recreate this epic and historic radio broadcast right before your eyes (and ears) in the Somerville theater. If that’s not enough to get you excited about this, we’ve got some more surprises for you. After many requests from our fans, we’ve now got women’s baby doll t-shirts and tank tops available for the first time. Even more exciting than that, we’re going to have a special limited edition preview version of our upcoming studio album! We’re only going to have a very small number of these, and they will only be available at these shows. Not only will you get a glimpse of the album along with some special treats, but you’ll also get to take the cost of this CD off your purchase of the full album once it’s released. This all adds up to some serious Halloween goodies for you! so get your tickets NOW! Come out and let us and the PMRP transport you to another time a place. We’ll take you on a rollercoaster ride of vintage entertainment both hilarious and terrifying. This is going to be a truly unique spectacle you are not going to want to miss! "The Big Broadcast of October 30th, 1938" will run Thursday, October 29th through Saturday, October 31st, at 8:00 PM, with a matinee at 2:00pm Halloween day at the Somerville Theatre next to the Davis Square T Station. Tickets are $15 in advance at the box office and online, and $20 at the door DOS, with special group rates available.

Greetings! as we've been mentioning for the past few months, we're working on our first studio album!!! and we kicked things off last weekend with 3 days of recording... ...we
survived our marathon recording weekend! things were intense and
productive, and now we've got basic tracks done...and by basic tracks i
mean drums, bass, accordion, guitar, banjo, alto, tenor, trumpet,
trombone, and clarinet. it's really impressive how much work everyone
has put into this weekend, and it really comes across in the recordings. we really hope that you will all like what you hear. we also want to give a hearty endorsement of the wonders and talents of our engineer, Corey Schreppel. seriously, everyone should be so lucky as to get to work with this guy. here's a little glimpse of our studio! 8988 Originally uploaded by coralinethebluemore photos to come soon! -ENSMB

Anyone who loves ENSMB, loves HONK! it is a glorious celebration and all out musical extravaganza, and it's coming again this fall OCT 9-11 for it's biggest iteration yet! but in order for it to be a success, we need your help! Please join us next Thursday at the HONK! Community Meeting, May 28th 7:00-8:30 PM at the West Branch Library in Davis Square. This meeting is a great way to learn about this year's festival and find out what little (or big!) things you can do to help out. HONK! is community-driven action, and that means we need your help. The local love and support of our festival continues to grow, and we're certain that with your help, this year's festival will be the best yet. Among other things, we need folks who are available before and during the festival to: - promote the weekend's events - make sure bands get where they're going - house musicians - feed, transport, wrangle, inform, collect donations and so much more! This year is going to be a wonderful combination of the HONK! veterans you know and love, and exciting new bands coming to HONK! for the first time. there's an all women's band from New Orleans, bands from Italy and Amsterdam, new friends we made at HONK! West in Seattle, and some of your local favorites too. ;) For HONK! updates visit http://www.honkfest.org Please join us and be a part of this amazing experience! Hope to see you May 28th! of JP's Wake Up The Earth Festival, and this year is no exception. It's
a huge event with lots of great music and activities for kids and
adults alike. We'll be taking part in the parade which kicks off
the festival at 11 AM at the monument on Center St. The parade makes
it's way down Center St and ends up at the Stony Brook T station, so
you can catch us anywhere along the route. If you're feeling extra
festive, feel free to dance in the streets along the way with us! But
the day doesn't stop there! We'll also be performing later that
afternoon at 4 PM at the Popular Theater stage in the Southwest
Corridor Park (by Stony Brook T station), and we'll have the circus
with us in full force. expect to see performances by the Madcap Rumpus
Society, the Boston Hoop Troop and the Grasshopper Collective. it will
be an astounding show, so come down, lay out on the grass and enjoy! Wake Up the Earth Festival http://www.spontaneouscelebrations.org/wuteposter09.pdf11 AM parade down Center St 4 PM Popular Theater stage off Stony Brook T Station near the corner of Amory and Boylston St. -ENSMB
