Current mood: amused
I got the Sims 2 for Christmas, along with the two expansion packs, Sims 2 University and Sims 2 Nightlife. I decided to spend my Monday off from work playing out the exploits of my Sim life. Some highlights:
SimRobert started the game off with 20,000 simoleons in his bank account. He decided rather than buying a pre-built home, it'd make more sense to purchase a plot of land and built from the ground up. He built himself a nice little home, with only one problem: he spent so much on the building itself and the painting and siding and carpeting and whatnot, that by the time the structure was complete, SimRobert barely had enough to buy anything to fill the house with. First night in the place involved having a toilet, a shower, a bathroom sink and a bed. No TV, no computer, no refridgerator (obviously, SimRobert's priorities emulate those of RealRobert).
After a day, SimRobert picked up a job in politics. The hours sucked, but at least it was a bit of income. He quickly met some of his neighbors and hit it off splendidly with one of them, whose name I can't remember now. Brandy? Brenda? Something with a B. In any case, it didn't take long for the B-named chick to succumb to SimRobert's obvious charms. Before long, they were making out (SimRobert in fact purchased a sofa just for this reason).
After a couple of promotions, SimRobert started bringing a friend home from work, a woman named Mary-Sue. She's a bit stuffy, her hair always tied back, looking way too business like for smooth SimRobert. But SimRobert doesn't discriminate, so he quickly moved in for the kill. After a couple days, Mary-Sue accepted SimRobert's invitation to spend the night. Strangely, though, when SimRobert climbed into bed, Mary-Sue decided to continue playing chess for awhile. After she was through with her game of chess, solitaire style, she hopped into the shower and then went home -- stark naked! I was a bit confused by this turn of events. She never expressed any displeasure, and only a short time earlier, she could barely keep her hands off our handsome Simprotagonist. She stopped coming over after work, though SimRobert did place the occasional late night booty call, and she was quick to come over.
Still, the relationship with the B-named chick had to continue. SimRobert asked her out on a date, took her bowling. She was quite a lousy date, from what I could tell. I don't think SimRobert had a very good time, because during the course of the date, he started dancing with this hot little number named Kelly. Things were a bit rough at first (I think SimRobert had a couple of cocktails, because he went in for a kiss way too soon, which ended with SimKelly delivering a swift Simslap in the face), but SimRobert did score the digits. A couple of phone calls later, and SimRobert had SimKelly spending the night, as well.
Things are slowly looking up for SimRobert. He's starting to acquire some lovely goods (including a fantastic billiards table), so we'll see how things progress. I'll try to post some pictures, soon. Now that SimRobert has a computer, I think I might try to talk him into signing up for MySpace.
To be continued...

Current mood: cheerful
My buddy Marcus turned me on to this site, Threadless. Just another t-shirt site, right? Well, this comes from the site's FAQ: Threadless.com is an on-going tee shirt design competition, anyone can submit their design and if it gets a high enough score and is chosen by the Threadless crew it will be printed and sold from the site.
Most of the product found on Threadless is a result of the competition. A few of the shirts were printed outside of the contest, some of which were comissioned by Threadless to various well-known designers.
Check it out, there's some fantastic stuff. And everything sells out pretty quick, so keep abreast, yo! I just bought five shirts. And I love 'em so much that I plan to wear them all at the same time. Well, that and so I can look buff. Which I'm not. Yo.

Current mood: grumpy
Someone woke up on the wrong side of the bed today. Guess who?
That's right, if you guessed me, you're right! I don't usually feel this grouchy, but I definately do today. Musta had a lousy dream or something.
Anyway, feel free to cheer me up if you've got any ideas.

Current mood: blank
- Sitting in a cafe in bumfuck France, torn between my fifteenth espresso or my first Kronenberg 1664. I have a volume of Les Fleurs du Mal open in front of me, original French on one side, English translation on the other. I'm attempting to improve my poor French, but end up learning really specific and conversationally unimportant phrases like "Ce voyageur aile, comme il est gauche et veule!"
- Laying in bed, staring at the sun coming through my window, counting to twenty, then closing my eyes to see how long it takes for the sunspots to go away.
- Chain-smoking Gitanes in a movie theater playing a French film noir.
- Getting drunk before noon in the city of Calexico, preferably at a bar with a cheap and shitty jukebox and a septuagenarian wearing a sombrero behind the bar, urging me to switch from cerveza to tequila.
- Petting a moose with a rage problem.
- Running out of gas in middle of west Texas with a guitar in my trunk and no cell phone reception.
- Sitting in an inner tube headed downstream towards a hundred foot waterfall.
- Trying on fancy hats.
- Arguing with a dry cleaner in Sanskrit.
- Browsing at the Apple Store with a stolen credit card in my pocket.
- Studying cartography because Magellan only did okay.
- Sailing the seven seas with a belly full of rum and a cutlass at my waist.
- Karaoking to the Soviet national anthem in Decatur, Georgia.
- Standing in line to see Lenin's Tomb.

1. Billy Joel is not cool. 2. Bruce Springsteen writes lyrics barely fit for a remedial ESL class. 3. Pamela Anderson gives really lousy head. 4. Apples and oranges are the same fucking thing.

I knew it was out there. As fantastic as Netflix is, it's always been missing one thing... Yep. Porn. Nasty, dirty, raunchy porn. After all, who doesn't love porn? In any case, all you porn junkies out there can get your fill of blue movies now with Wanted List. You're welcome.
