So we teamed up with Oyster and Homebake to create the Focus Designer Competition, aimed at showcasing up-and-coming talent in the Australian Fashion world.

Our judges (including the lovely Sia) decided that Brisbane brothers Sam and Jono Cottee - aka Vanguard - deserved to take out the top prize.

We were impressed by the sibling team's expressive range which was inspired by Alby Mangels -  a cavalier adventurer from the '70s and '80s.

Great things are in the pipeline for the boys, who are now stocked in more than 50 stores throughout Australia, New Zealand and japan, and have been asked to come and represent their country as part of New York's Australia Week celebrations.

We wanted to shout out some love for Sia and her mad ways. Despite being headhunted to write music for Christina Aguilera and with a career blowing up bigtime, we love how down to earth this girl is - Accepting her ARIA in bare feet because she was too distracted putting pawpaw on her lips to remember to put her shoes back on!

Her new album's dropping next April, and this week she's also judging our Homebake Fashion Incentive.

Georgia Jagger, daughter of rock god Mick Jagger and model Jerry Hall, has been announced as the next face of fashion empire Versace.

She's only 17, but the combination of her father's mouth and her mother's leggy physique has landed this It Girl on the style set's radar for quite some time now.

The young beauty will be following in the footsteps of her mum who modeled for Versace back in the day.

Between this, a Vogue cover and a contract with Rimmel, we can expect to see a lot more of Jagger Junior.

We love up and coming talent. There's always something so fresh and brave about young designers. We went along to the Sydney Fashion Design Studio end of year parade to get a look at what the next crop of designers have to offer and we were blown away by the calibre or work!

The bar was set high, as previous students from the studio have included Akira, Dion Lee, Alex Perry, Lisa Ho and Nicky Zimmerman.

Check out some highlights below.

Lindsay Lohan was recently made Artistic Ambassador for fashion house Emanuel Ungaro, which had many of us wondering what on earth that actually means. Well it would seem that part of the job involves styling catwalk shows, starting with the Emanuel Ungaro SS2010 collection show at Paris Fashion Week. Apparently it didn't go down too well with the French Fashionistas and editors in the audience who didn't try to hide their distaste at the sparkly love hearts covering nipples and described the collection as dated. Lindsay took to the catwalk in tears to take her bow and in the end most bloggers labelled that whole affair an "Epic Fail".

We don't think the clothes themselves are that bad, maybe not right for Paris Fashion Week, but that red loveheart skirt is pretty cute.

What do you think?

Vanguard
Sam and Jono Cottee - the brains behind Brisbane based label Vanguard - have draw-upon legendary traveller Alby Mangel as the inspiration for their latest collection. The denim range is washed-out, worn-in and rugged. Contrasting print paneled pieces mimic patched up travellers’ garments and the prints that the label has become so well known for include black and white animal prints, textural earth and landscape-inspired patterns.
