Current mood:  melancholy

Well...what can we say.
Biejanka decided to move to Finland and start a new life there in June
2009. Of course we wish her all the best and hope she'll fulfil her
dreams here. Also read Biejanka's statement on the left page. That
leaves us without her voice, her inspirition and her presence....it
will be hard to find someone to replace that. But we will move on and
try anyway. So if you think you fit in (female or male vocalist alike)
please don't hesitate to contact us.

Biejanka will stay with us untill may 2009. Hopefully we get the chance to play some final gigs with her.
Our last performance with Biejanka is due at the Rambler in Eidhoven on May 30th.

Read Biejanka's statement here:

All good things come to an end… and for every ending, there’s a new beginning…

A new year is coming and often, the “old” has to make room for the new.
That’s just the way it goes. Never easy, but often inevitable.

In June 2009 I’ll say goodbye to my life here in
Holland to start a new life for myself and my boyfriend, in Finland.
The hardest decision ever, thinking of what I have to leave behind. My
parents, family and friends, and…. my band.

For many years, FeedForward has been a big part
of me and I was able to put a lot of myself into it. I’ve shared so
much with my band mates. And even though I know they’re going to rock
on strong without me, it pains me to have to leave them behind, as
well.

I would like to thank everybody, that in
whatever way, shape or form has felt connected to the Feed, for their
support throughout the years. I sincerely hope you will continue to
support the guys with that same commitment and dedication. A very
special thanks for Marco, our sound engineer and "5th bandmember" from
the start!

Mario, Pi, Job and Jan… Thanks a million for
everything. The music, the friendship and the bullshit ;) I will miss
you so..!!!

The 5 of us will get on stage for the very last time on May 23th, at The Rambler. See you all there.!

All the best, Biejanka

It's been a lil' quiet with the blogs, but that doesn't mean nothing has been happening... On the contrairy..!!

As said in the previous blog, we've been using the time off from gigging to get recordings done for a promo. Our friend Harrie's really helping us out there, cuz since none of us have a big moneytree in the backyard, he has been so kind to "donate" his time and studio to get three tracks down. We're now in the final mixing process and it's comming together nicely. A 4th track might even make it to the promo. One of the tracks we recorded live, during the sound enginering course we were part of. Very good friend and our own "master of sound" Marco managed to make the song sound big enough to be put to use. Where would we be without friends, huh..?..

So all that's comming a.s.a.p.

Further more,we had a super gig at the Dynamo, together with Carthago and Suncaged. We were really looking forward to playing with them and for us it was an extra special night, cuz we had some BIG news to tell.......

We're proud to announce that we finally caught the attention of a label and are about to sign for the re-release of "Barefoot & Naked", making the album available in stores in several European countries and to 250 (!) digital sites for downloading and streaming..!!.. How cool..!?... Things will be made official early March with a press-release by the label, which will be revealed then as well...

So all's good in FeedForward-land..!!!

Should probably update these blogs more often, now i hafta think back too far for my mind to keep track, hehe... aging..?.. let's see what i can pull out...

Opening for Epica was great, big crowd, mostly Epica-fans of course, but a good response for us too... pics on our website and on studiomystica.nl (thanx again, Natasja).. Beach Battle was a bit of a disappointment, but that's the way the cookie sometimes crumbles... The accoustic performance on Rosa FM went well, was a real learning experience to work on changing the songs around to fit the "accoustic bill"... too bad the recordings of it got messed up...

We also got some radio exposure on the local station of Stein... Mosterdpop was dedicated to us for a full hour with an interview and our own songs and personal favorites getting aired... Traffic kinda spoiled it for Job and me, cuz we got caught in a loooong cue, so we were late... but the other guys did pretty good without us as you can hear on our site... if you are Dutch that is, hehe...

On what was probably the hottest day of Summer (and not just cuz of my poika being there, hihi) we played at the All American Day in Weert and damn was it killer up there on stage.. phew... but we managed to pull it off, turned quite a few heads, and got great respones there as well..

Limburg seems to have opened its doors to us, cuz a few weeks later we were back, at Koppelpop, nice event on the town square of Susteren... we were there pretty early for a Sunday, to see Stonepit, fronted by our friend and Barefoot & Naked producer Hanf, cool band!... our gig was later in the evening, so I was a little bit tired after such a long day hanging out and allthough the gig went fine, for me it wasn't one of my best performances...

But a week later we had, what i consider to be, one of our best gigs up till now... our own two hour show, at the Muziekcafé in Helmond... what a thrill..!!!.. everybody was there, old and new friends/fans, who helped make this a night to remember... we, as a band, were really feeling it and each of us gave it their all... and once again our sound engineer Marco, who has become our 6th bandmember, kicked ass and gave us a great sound... thanx, man..!!.. and a big thank u to Patrick for making us feel welcome...

Now we're focussing on getting recordings done, to put a promo together of some of our new songs... starting this Sunday, when we're part of a sound enginering/live recording course that Marco put together at the Dynamo and plans are to get studio recordings done haflway October as well...

I promise to keep you posted on all of this... for real..!..

kiipis...

but where to begin..?.. where i left of last blog makes sense, hihi....

after W2 we had a few weeks before the next gig, one we were looking forward to, and needed to be ready for, cuz it's a "big thing" to play 013, especially the main stage, so bandpractice was spend preparing for No Sleep Til'burg.... we were scheduled to play at 16.00, wich could go either way, audience wise... cuz are people willing to get up after a , most likely, Saturday night of partying..?.. lucky for us, plenty were, so all 'n all an nicely filled floor... the gig went great, what a thrill to play a stage that huge..!.. not to mention all the names that ever stood on the exact same spot...  half an hour of bliss... good respons from the crowd and even a few "singing-along" fans... barely being of stage, i had to do an interview for '3 voor 12' and we were asked to perform a song accoustic on their stage later that day... and so we (me and Job) did.. footage of that on through our website...... pretty good day, although No Sleep wasn't as it used to be previous years, in my humble opinion...

next up was a gig at Plato, opening up for Suncaged at their CD realese party... we were honoured to have been asked and wanted to make a lasting impresision, so we carefully planned our set for that occasion, and we did good..!.. wonderful evening, lotta great responses and album sales were great... we hope to maybe open up for Suncaged at their future gigs...

then we had a "gig-less" month, but we used our time off well... getting exposure for the album, writing new material, updating the site with reviews (they keep commin' and are really, really positive), photoshoot for promo-pics... all kindsa side-stuff....

then it was time for us to play the 1/4 final of the Beach Battle (BB), so off to Scheveningen... we were pleased to see that there was an actual audience this time, considering that all 3 bands weren't local... gig went well, eventhough we had some serious resonance on stage, which made it hard to stay in the flow, but we managed fine... fine enough to make it to the half finals on the 26th of this month... hope to make it to the finals, and to WIN... fingers crossed...

so, we're now focussing on next weekend... we'll be opening up for Epica in De Bosuil on Friday the 25th, and we plan on kicking "goth" ass, hehe... and the Saturday after we hafta rock again, to make it to the BB-final... BRING IT ON..!!!!....

Current mood:  content

Last Friday we had a gig at Little Devil, in Tilburg (...homies..!!..) together with Forcefeed... another band (Discourse Avenue) was supposed to be playing too, but unfortunately one of their bandmembers got sick, so they had to cancel... We hope he's feeling better...

It's always somewhat of a hassle to play Friday night gigs, cuz us "rockstars" all have dayjobs as well (...hafta pay the bills, right..?..) so after work it's rushhour... pack up the gear, get to the venue, unload, set things up on stage, line-check, one-song soundcheck and after a small breather it's showtime.... phew... can get a little stressy, but once the intro starts rolling, the energy starts building up, and we're all ready to go....

Gig went great, very nice crowd, good response and our soundtech managed to yet again give us an awesome sound (thanx, Marco..!!!..)

For me personally it was quite an effort to hit the high notes, or to even sing, cuz i had a bad cold and managed to fall down some stairs before the gig, so i was pretty sore... but no time to whine when "duty" calls, huh..?.. We all had a few beers after the gig, while watching Forcefeed perform... very energetic and "in your face" band.... a pleasure to watch...

After a few hours of sleep and getting back to "normal" life (..yes, we do have to shop for groceries and vacuum the house n stuff, hihi...) it was time to get going again, for another gig, in Den Bosch this time, at W2...

NO rest for the wicked..!!!..

After a loooong wait (...made a little less long by the other performing bands...) it was time for us to get on stage, and what a great stage to be on... BIG..!!!.. no need to worry about bumping into eachother, enough space to move around without getting your eye poked out by the head of a guitar, which has been known to happen, hihi..... nice crowd, in numbers, a little hard to get them going, but after the first two songs they started to warm up to us, and we got great responses from there on...

Thanx to our merch-babes, we sold a couple of CD's and made a few interesting contacts for future happenings...

So, all n all, a great giggin' weekend....

Biejanka

Ow, and watch out for new pics and live footage of the W2-gig on our website www.feedforwardband.com

Monday, February 19, 2007

Glad to say the album's recieved very well, so far... had some great reviews, and there's gonna be a featured article on the band in this Wednesday's "Brabants Dagblad" , so all you locals, go check it out...!!!

Since we have a couple of gigs comming up, rehearsal time's mostly spend on getting set-lists together for those, and practice... Also we're laying down clicktracks for the new songs and making accoustic versions of a few "Barefoot & Naked" songs for an appearance on a radioshow we're gonna do... more on all this in later blogs...

so far, so good......

Biejanka

Ow, there's a lotta new stuff added to the website... making of the album, studio clips for two songs, "goofin' around in the studio" footage and a gig slide show...

Current mood:  tired

Well, it's been a while, and it's actually MY first blog entry here... i figured it's about time i drop a line...

Things are a bit slow for us at the moment, wich is partly a concious choice... we're all enjoying, or about to enjoy, our Xmas break from work... in our country, or abroad...

For me this means two weeks off, of wich i'm gonna spend one in Finland, leaving next week.... looking (feed) forward to that!!!!

After we've all had our peace&quiet, the album will be finished (hurray for that) and we start gigging again....

Though i'm not too big on Xmas, me and the band wish you all a Merry one and a very, very Happy Newyear...

C-ya in 2007....
