Ok so im sitting at home, sick, watching Hustle and Flow on a fri night- strangely enough i hadn't seen it until now- Which btw has one of my favorite homeys ever Taryn Manning in it. She's my babe. And if you haven't heard her sing with her band Boomkat- go check it out and get the record. My favorite song on it is "Runaway" They just released a new record called "A Million Trillion Stars" so good. Super cool peeps. Support and drop her a myspace. She's one of my top friends so you can find her. I sang with Taryn last fri night at the release of the new record here in LA and it was lots of fun.. :)

So, I just got back early this morning from Vegas. Katy was shooting her video for "Waking Up in Vegas" which btw was f____ing EPIC. Like probably the most beautiful and cool video i've ever seen. It was so much fun.. Katy treated me and Markus like kings (or queens depending on who your talking about, Markus, was of course in Drag again in the video. haha. he looked like a beautiful woman lol) I just hung out and got massages and facials and ate the whole friggin room service menu :) Lets just say i actually uttered the words "why are these lights so bright" and "that's what you get for waking up in vegas" when Markus and I woke up in a 4,200 sq ft suite at a different hotel at 9 am in bathrobes with smeared mascara and vertugo. HAHAHAHHA. UGH I do vaguely remember a steam room. And some weird people that I think were hitmen. Oh well. Hate the sin, love the sinner. xoxo Vegas was great and thanks to katy for being a great hostess as usual. And her kickass fucking outfits and jewelry. i kid i kid. gaga who? :p

So, lets see. What's goin on with me is the question at hand. Yes i have fabulous famous wonderful friends, but lets not forget about MEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!

I've been in hibernation in writing land. DO not think im just out and about partying my lil ass off. Im working hard here in LA to bring you guys another kick ass Ferras record just as soon as I get what I believe is the next level material. :
I am here in LA for a bit. Im skipping sxsw this year and taking a much needed breather in Scottsdale. Im going to _____________ (UNDISCLOSABLE LOCATION FOR OBVIOUS REASONS) for a week to chill out and hopefully mentally and physically come back ready to get my career ball rolling again. As you guys have heard me saying for the last few monthes, I've been writing writing and writing and existing and writing and trying to come up with what I believe is the follow up to my last record. I think i've got about 6 or 7 new songs right now that I believe are all in the running of being super fantastic. And I'm still writing. I just had a show at Hotel Cafe a couple weeks ago which was incredible. I debuted 4 of the new songs to a receptive and excited team and audience. I feel so strongly about the music I'm doing now and just the whole direction and vibe. And i've learned so much in the last year of having a record deal, making a record, releasing a single, having certain changes fuck it all up, and being back (sort of) at square one lol. Its been an incredibly insane year and i'm just excited and looking forward to the future and to the new stuff im doing now. I'm in the process of meeting with producers and trying to find the best fit for this new music and then once either a new EP or full length record is done, then taking that and finding a home for that. The next go around will be what FERRAS wants, not what a record co or anytone else thinks i should be or do. So with that being said, I look forward to sharing the process and of course, the wonderful end result with you.... *wow that was so arragont and kanye of me." but truthfully it will be wonderful, and that's precisely why i am taking my sweet old time. xoxo

Hey loves.

Its your boy Frosty again.

Its Fri night and I'm spending a quiet evening at home by myself. Sometimes its cool to just stay on your couch for HOURS and not move. I have one of the most comfortable couches in the universe and there are actually times I refuse to sit on it cause when I do, and i have my laptop or channel changer in hand, I don't get up til the next day. Bwahahaha.

Anyway, I wanted to invite you all to check my page out on FACEBOOK. I know most of you probably have it already and its old news, but for me, its my new obsession. Don't get me wrong, Myspace I love you, but facebook is cool too. Just search for me Ferras Alqaisi and I will add you as a friend. I'm always updating that lately. :)

Still having the weird friend deletion thing. So that's why I am pissed actually. Everytime we add more friends, the friend count goes up, only to go back to the original number a couple days later. Myspace is aware of the problem and supposedly was having their tech dept look into it but its has yet to be resolved. So until it does, I'm inviting you all to say hey to me on facebook cause at least my friends don't get deleted on that. Don't get me wrong, I'm still gunna be on here, just frustrated at the moment.

What else.

Got home from the inauguration which was magical. I was really blessed to be a part of history and such a great event.

Its a new year, a new horizon. I've been writing as I have been for the last couple monthes coming up with what i feel is the next step musically for me. I've gone through different styles- everything from experimenting with beats to just basic ballads to dance songs. I'm finding myself musically and I thank you guys so much for your patience and for continuing to support me and listen to ALIENS & RAINBOWS!! I promise you, the next record and the next incarnation will not dissapoint. I don't wanna rush something out there that nots completely what I believe to be a complete representation of my thoughts feelings and artistry of that time. So, during this time (which may seem boring to ya'll haha) I thank you for your messages of encouragement, your comments - everything you guys do on here just picks me up and drives me even harder to dig deep and make music that you guys will continue enjoy and live through and identify with.... If my heart belongs to anyone, its to you all.

Ok, enough sappy. haha. I mean it all though. You guys know that.

Ok so some random stuff.

I've been addicted to Baldwin Hills. I can't figure out why, But I am.. Im addicted to my new IPOD touch. Its super cool. You can get your email on there. And check your myspace and facebook and all this stuff. Plus watch movies and music and for the last few days i've been addicted to downloading applications. HAHA. I'm always so late on the bandwagon for everything techy or cool. I realize all you young guns are probably already on to like shizz i've not even heard of yet haha. But anyway, just allow me to have my moment.

Looking forward to seeing my fav lil popstar friend Katy tomorrow night in concert. If you're there and see me, come say hi. :) I hear she has a giant blow up cat. Looking forward to that haha. I may or may not jump on the bus with her for a few days and hang out for a week. I'm in writing mode so i may not wanna break my flow. We'll see.

Fri I have a show for a radio station in Palm Springs.
I lurve me some palm springs. Last time I stayed at KORAKIA.. Google that shizz. It was so exquisite.

Oh the weather outside is frightful.... so i hear. Its 1am- I'm packing for my lil trip to our nations capital. What a privilege and honor it is for me to be in dc while history is made. :) go obama. I'm playing a set at one of the inaugural balls tues night. Wish me luck. Thanks to Jessica Pastor and Dolce & Gabbana for hookin me up with a fly silver tux... D&G so good for me. Please do yourself a favor and see this new work of art starring the magnificently talented GENIUS and my new favorite actor, Will Smith. I actually cannot even put into words how insanely talented this man is. Like absolutely fucking brilliant. Hands down GENIUS.

Ok so please see this film.

Its been forever since I can remember being affected like this by a film. It seems kind of chick flicky and strangey maybe even a little lifetime movie slow in certain parts - can't decide if that's because I was watching it on my laptop(yes i have a screener copy from a friend) because my DVD player just died or it just is, either way stick it through and the payoff is just brilliant.

I have this thing tho.

It can be a wonderful thing and also a kind of horrible thing. Sometimes I get so involved when I watch movies that I can't separate myself from the characters. Like it made me think of alot of things about life. things i should do... try to be a better person.. embrace love.. and appreciate the people i have in my life who i love. all these things. I plunge so deeply into the characters that I can't just be like "Ferras, you are not these people. This is not your life." But I guess thats a good story or movie or acting job or whatever when you identify with what's going on so deeply because on some level that type of movie speaks to all of us, to the very basic innermosthuman thoughts and feelings. I just feel so deeply i guess that watching a movie like this always has to be followed by something disney haha.

Anyway, thanks for letting me unload my feelings into your world. If you understood any of that, great. If not, I understand that too. I'm being cryptic because I don't wanna give the film away AND that's just how i talk as well.

PS- WILL S- I want a percentage of box office from the time this went off. Im sending like tons of people to your movie bro.

Oh, and one little thing.

Whenever your finished reading this, think about one person in your life, that you love so deeply but maybe you don't find time for them, or take them for granted, or whatever. Make a plan to do something cooll for them as a surpise and make them feel loved and appreciated and special.

So I'm really pissed right now. Somethings up with my myspace account and I keep adding friends and my friend count is staying the same despite me adding friends everyday. If you have been denied as a friend or deleted or not showing up or something freaky, I'm sorry. It's not me.
