HI!!!
So this weekend, me, Joe, Chris, Rachel, Amy, and Kristin went up to Estes Park! It was a really great time...probably one of the better mountain trips I've ever had actually! We basically just hung out the whole time...nothing too strenuous really!
So, here are the pix!
Chris, Rachel, and I arrived on Friday night at about 7:30. Here they are setting up our movie for the night (The Big Lebowski!):

Concurrently, I started on dinner, which as linguini with tomato/mushroom/chunky tomato buffalo meat sauce. Chris and Rachel cut up the veggies and I cooked the pasta (basically, I had it easy)...Anyway, here's Rachel enjoying her meal!

And Chris played with his Rubics' cube...

Saturday morning, we got up, had some raw milk and granola or pasteurized LOW FAT (ICK!!! :) ) yogurt and granola and then went on a very un-serious "run." Then, we showered up (not at the same time...) Here's Chris in his undies prior to showering...

And here I am on the internet (we were really roughing it, as you can see!) while Chris was showering...

And here's Chris and I looking very gay after he showered...

...And here's Rachel waiting for her hair to dry...

So then we went roller skating!

And I really like this pic!

So then we went into downtown Estes Park and bought taffy. Then, we went to Bob and Tony's Pizza to wait for Joe, Kristin, and Amy to come up (they were only able to come up for Saturday night)...

So then Kristin, Joe, and Amy got there!

So then after an "ok" lunch, we went back to the taffy store so our newcomers could buy some taffy...here's Kristin located in the taffy store:

After this, we walked around town for a while. At one point, we went into a shop with many plates. I wanted to have my picture taken in front of a portion of these plates:

And then we passed a barber shop inside which there as a very conservative-looking barber. Needless to say, I was made quite anxious by this sight but wanted a pic in front of the barber pole thing:

So then we came back to the cabin and I took a nap. The other ones played Uno (registered trademark) the game:

A little later, I stopped napping and then we all started playing Scattagories (trademark):

Then we decided to go to Mary's Lake Lodge for dinner. Here we all are before leaving:

So then we had dinner! I enjoyed it a lot, Joe seemed to enjoy it, I believe that Amy pretty much enjoyed it, Kristin enjoyed most of it I think though was not amazed, and Rachel and Chris mostly enjoyed it though Chris was somewhat disappointed with the pot roast:

So then we came back and continued playing Scattagories for a while, but then changed to Taboo (trademark):

Then when the night was over we had to clean up:

So then we all woke up Sunday morning and hung out for a little while, some of us sipping coffee:

(I think Joe looks quite handsome here!!!)
Finally, we headed off to Mary's Lake Lodge again to partake in their brunch buffet! It was great!

And that's it!!! I hope you enjoyed the pix. Please let me know if you'd like to see the full size versions!
With friggin' hot regards, Andy/Jamey/whatever

Hello everyone!!! My neighbor's daughter is a Girl Scout, so this year I agreed to purchase some Girl Scout cookies to help with their fundraising.
I just received the cookies, and they've been deposited squarely in the TRASH. The second ingredient is listed as "partially hydrogenated vegetable oil."
In response, I've written the following letter to the Girl Scouts -- please send one yourself if you feel the same way!
************ Hello,
I continue to be very disappointed to see that the Girl Scouts still use trans fats in their cookies, then report 0g trans fats on the nutrition label. I understand that this is because you are able to keep the serving size trans fat content under .5 grams, but that doesn't matter. An organization such as yours should be adhering the the highest ethical standards and thus should not be willing to mislead consumers in this way.
PLEASE consider revising your cookie recipes to use healthy saturated fats such as coconut oil, lard, tallow, butter, and/or and palm oil in lieu of these fake, toxic hydrogenated fats. As a consumer I'll tell you that I'm more than happy to pay more for the cookies if that's what it takes to make them trans fat free.
Thank you, Andy ************
Thanks for reading...I just thought I'd share!
Warm regards, Jamey...Andy...well...whatever :)

So, here was the menu:
Bacon and raw milk cheese sandwiches on flour-free muffins Raw milk and honey granola Butter and raw, unheated honey on flour-free muffins Home squeezed fresh non-pasteurized juice from organic oranges
It was a great breakfast full of Goldenboy quoteables and other stimulating sorts of conversation. So here're the pix!!!

Hi everyone,
At about 4:50 pm this afternoon, my dog Max passed away. He was just about to turn 14 years old. I loved him very much.
It's sad that you never seem to understand how much somebody means to you until they're gone. I'll miss him.

During this past week, I was in Germany for a business trip. Basically, my company was having a 3-and-a-half day workshop in Frankfurt and they asked a co-worker and I to head out to Germany and help out.
Of course, we were able to do some other things in addition to work -- for me that meant taking PICTURES! Throughout the week, we hung out in Frankfurt, had some GREAT meals, and headed up to Leipzig to see some relatives of mine.
Anyway, here are some of the pictures...I hope you enjoy them!
This is a shot of the Frankfurt airport shortly after our arrival on Sunday the 4th of November:

And here's a shot of Sachsenhausen (a part of Frankfurt) on our way to the hotel:

On our first night, we decided to go to some town outside of Frankfurt...it had great traditional architecture and was very charming indeed...I felt like I was in Epcot center while I was there:

And here's some cobbelstone...

So, the next morning (Monday) we headed off to the office. The workshop hadn't started yet, but we went anyway as we couldn't get away with just dicking around on a workday. Here's a shot of the town in which our Frankfurt office resides:

That night, we decided to head down to "Steinenhaus" for some "steak on a rock." That is, they bring you a raw steak that you then cook on a hot rock. Here I am really excited:

On the way, I took this shot of downtown Frankfurt:

Once we got there, we all ordered big beers. Here I am mesmerized by mine:

And here I am eating my steak on the rock!

At the end of the dinner, I had ALMOST finished my beer, but didn't quite make it:

So, we walked back to the hotel. Here's a shot of my room (it was just like an American room actually...):

So, we went to the office again the next morning (this was Tuesday, by the way). Here I am on the street before leaving:

We spent the day in the workshop. Interestingly, the doors in Germany tend to do the opposite of what you'd expect...that is, they're "pull open" when you'd expect them to be "push open," and vice-versa. They do, however, put this notation on the door to help out. I still screwed it up half the time and was pulling/pushing like an idiot.

Wednesday night, we went downtown to the "12 Apostles" restaurant. On the way, we decided to take the subway:

The dinner was excellent! So was the beer:

Here's a shot of the restaurant after we left:

And here's some more subway shots I took coming back to the hotel:

As you can see, I LOVE public transit!!!

On the way to the office Friday morning (our last day in the office -- yay!), I took this shot of our very impressive Holiday Inn hotel:

And here's some shots of the office:

...here's the cafeteria:

After giving a presentation on Friday morning, my boss, co-worker, and I had lunch at an awesome sandwich shop. Here we are on the way:

The next day (Saturday), we went to Leipzig with some relatives of mine. Here are a number of pictures from our trip there:

(above is the old city hall)
 (at the Thomaskirche (church))
(some viloins/violas/whatever at the Thomaskirche. The intersting thing about this church is that Johann Sabastian Bach was an employee here (he was a "canter") and wrote a lot of music. The church is quite famous for this reason)
(me in front of the violins/violas/whatever)

(here I am in front of a memorial for 126,000 (I believe) people who lost their lives in a battle with Napoleon. This structure was absolutely enormous, and this picture doesn't do it justice.)

After our day of sightseeing (which, I forgot to mention, was BUTT ASS COLD!!!), we drove back to Frankfurt on the autobahn, reaching about 160-180 km/h at times). It was a fun drive! Here's a German gas pump:

The next morning (Sunday), we left Frankfurt to come back home. Here I am in my hotel before we went to the airport:

...And here I am AT the airport, leaning on my boss' bag (I only clarify that because I HATE rolling bags with those big collapse-able handles!!! I'm a backpack/duffel guy myself...):

To get to our plane, we had to take a bus. I'd never done this before, so it was neat seeing the planes from a different perspective than usual:

So that was it! As always, I hope you enjoyed the pictures!
Jamey

Hello again!
Yesterday, Kristin had a Halloween get-together which I attended! I took a number of pix, and thought I'd share them...
So, this year I decided to be Tarzan (big surprise there, huh?!) Here's the costume...Jenna was kind enough to make the loincloth, and I think she did a great job...the only downer for this costume was the thong I had to wear underneath it...yikes!

So, here's Ryan, Jenna and I before we left my place...I look even queerer than usual here!

And here are several pix of the party when we got there...

...And here's a great one of Ryan...

Greg decided to go as the Pillsbury(r) Dough Boy...

...And here's one of he and Jenna...

After a while, things got really hot, as shown below...

In this one, Jenna is really pleased...

...And here's a few of Kristin and I...

...And one of Jenna and I...

...And one of Chris and I...

...And Ryan and I...I was enjoying a Crunch chocolate bar in this one...

...Then, Joe arrived!!!

...And here's a few of Kristin and her friends...

...And Kristin and Jenna...

...And Kristin and Chris...

...And here's an artistic (i.e., black and white) one of me...

Anyway, around 1:45am, we decided to head home. So did Rachel and Chris...

Once we got home, I made some omlettes and we hung out for a while...

So there you have it! It was a fun time. As always, thanks to Kristin for having us over!
See you, Jamey

This weekend, Beth, Steve, Greg, Rachel, Chris and I went up to Estes Park again! We mostly just hung around the cabin all weekend, but did do some other stuff...Anyway, I snapped a few pix that I thought I'd share below! I hope you enjoy them.
Friday, we left Denver around 4:14 pm or so and fought traffic to get out of town. Greg wasn't able to come until Saturday, so he wasn't with us yet. Here we are around 6:00 pm or so on highway 36 between Lyons and Estes Park:

And here we are arriving in Estes Park. This is a small shopping center about 3 miles from our cabin (we were REALLY roughing it as you can see!) We bought some various snack and beverage items here and then headed up to our cabin:

We checked in and got comfy. Here's everybody on the couch:

So then we started playing "Phase 10" (I think that's what it's called...) Things got pretty heated, and we all enjoyed various adult beverages:

And then we got slightly inebriated:

Here's one of Beth and Steve playing:

...And Chris:

...And Rachel:

After about five tortuous rounds, we decided to quit playing. I don't remember what we did at that point, but here's three of us posing:

...And I got cranky:

And here's one of me rollin':

...And here's one of Beth rollin':

And here's one of the rapidly-moving rubber ball:

...And here's one of the aftermath:

...And here's one of Chris, pleased with his abilities:

So, once we broke two bottles, we decided to hang it up for the night. I think it was about 1:30 or so.
The next morning, I made PANCAKES! I love pancakes, so don't give me shit about how unhealthy they are! Here I am, mesmerized by the second pancake, hot off the skillet:

After a while, everybody started getting up once they smelled the delicious pancakes being cooked...or perhaps they just heard their alarms maybe...but either way they got up:

...And Rachel got up too but oddly enough I don't appear to have a pic of her!
Everybody started reading at this time (except me, as I really dislike books) while we all waited for the pancakes:

Then, after aggressively eating the pancakes, we had a big mess:

...But Chris and Rachel were kind enough to clean it up:

Then, I took a nap while everybody else did something else...I can't remember what they said they did, but I'm sure it was delightful. Also, GREG CAME! And he had awesome hair:

So then we all decided to go into town to get a bite to eat (we did a LOT of eating on this trip!):

We went to Bob and Tony's Pizza (as is becoming fairly usual!) and got some reasonably good pizza:

Afterwards, we walked around town for a while and then came back to the cabin...here's Greg and Beth:

So then I didn't take pix for about 4 hours. Basically, Steve, Greg, and Chris threw the football around for a while and I went swimming at the indoor pool down the road. Unfortunately, I got a woozy stomach once I got in the pool, so didn't stay too long. Then, I popped an accidental potentially-embarassing woody in the showers (though luckily I was alone!). Finally, after picking up Taboo! at the boardgame place they've got, I headed back.
Then, we all headed into town again to pick up some food for the night at the grocery store. I had leftovers from the turkey taco meal on Friday night...Chris and Greg had soup...Stever had a steak...And Beth and Rachel had tortellini. It wasn't too bad I guess...
Here's an absolutely great shot of Beth during dinner:

And here's one of me devouring my turkey tostada:

So then we started playing Taboo! It was great...here's one of Rachel and Chris during the game:

...And Steve:

So, then, after some more nonsense we all decided to go to bed. Unfortunately, Beth and I had a tad bit too much to drink and didn't feel too well all night, but we made it. The next morning, there was flippin' SNOW on the ground! ARGH!!!:

...And for the first time since April or so, Greg and I had to dust off our cars:

So then we headed home!
It was a fun trip, as usual. I hope you enjoyed the pix!
See you, Jamey
