'The band’s first studio efforts to feature bassist Gavin Burrough, the single ‘Wrench’ is the standout, with drummer Ryan Richards and frontman Matt Davies exchanging growled and cleanly-sung vocals throughout a frenetic verse that breaks into a typically anthemic chorus, closing with a glorious gang vocal, declaring: “We carry on!”. From the unforgettable ‘Amsterdam Conversations’ and ‘This Year’s…’ through to recent single ‘Kicking And Screaming’, ‘Your History Is Mine’ underlines why Funeral For A Friend have enjoyed such a distinguished career to date; long may it continue.'
Tim Newbound, ROCK SOUND
'It's all superb.. a neat reminder of all Funeral have given us in the last decade; a perfect compilation for newer fans and a reason to be excited about what's to come from them in future. May the next seven years be this glorious!'
Rae Alexandra, KERRANG!YOUR HISTORY IS MINE: 2002-2009 is out now. Matthew Davies: ‘It's been hard whittling down the best of four albums and a bunch of EP's to come up with what we consider to be the best of our 'formative years'. We're still trying to rewrite the rock and roll music text book with everything we've done since then. It's been interesting to see just how many songs we've written that have affected both us and our audience over the last 7 and a half years and having them all in one place will be a good reflection of our music up to this point for newcomers and for old friends.’
