Just a rant...

I sent a message to a fellow MySpacer (he's a very hot man with a hairy chest and NO shirt on - absolutley HOTTER than hell).  In the message I essentially tell him that I was just saying hello and wanted to tell him he's hot - to which he immedately responds, "you know - I'm smart too"...

Just a note guys - if you want someone to compliment your brains and NOT your body, wear a freakin' shirt!  You cannot seriously be surprised by a superficial comment made by a total stranger looking at pictures you've posted on a PUBLIC / SOCIAL networking site! If you have the expectation that people, men in general, are not visual creatures, you're not as smart as you proclaim.

This past Saturday evening, I was minding my own business when a friend who always gets the best seats at all the shows in KC, calls and said that he has front row at Dr. Dolittle staring Tommy Tune.  I wasn't that interested because I didn't know who Tommy Tune was and I didn't want to set in this oppressive heat (98 degrees at 8:00 PM Saturday night).  Anyway, I get to Starlight theatre and sit for about 10 minutes and I am ready to go.  My friend David, who got me the tickets, informs me that he invited Tommy Tune and his personal assistant Peter to my home for drinks after the show. 
 
At this time, I meet Peter, Tommy Tune's personal assistant and he asked if he could buy us dinner, so I told him I had some frozen (Costco) lasagna and to come on over.  And so they did!  I found out that Tommy Tune is a 9 time Tony Award winner and is the nicest person I ever met that was 9 feet tall.   (kidding, he's only 6' 5")  See the pictures...  He is so incredibly interesting.  He knows Dale Chihuly - that impressed me more than his extensive world travels.
 
It was so much fun.  Tommy Tune invited me to his place in NY...
 
Hope you all have a great week.  I am walking on air...  My mom was upset I didn't invite her - She remembers him from the 70's.  My pager's going off, gotta go...
 
P. S. He signed a limited edition lithograph for me as a gift.  It's awesome and once framed it'll be hanging in my office...

Two years ago this July 1st, my partner of eight years passed away unexpectedly (It was determined later that a blood clot stopped his heart in the middle of the night) - I remember that morning thinking how angry I was that he wouldn't wake up and turn the damn alarm clock off - then I touched his body and he was cold...

Craig was the most wonderful man I had ever met.  The kindest person, the biggest heart and the warmest smile.   He was 15 years my senior and life was perfect - until July 1st, 2004.  Craig had two beautiful children (their picture is in my picture list) Hayden and Taylor.

Anniversary dates like these are always difficult and I thought If I shared, maybe I'd feel better - I really don't.  I have met so many wonderful people on this space and appreciate the kind words when responding to the mindless surveys that I post.  If I am slow to respond to an email - please don't be offended - it's just that time of year...  All and all, I am just reaching out - A response is not necessary.  This is just a step I am taking to let go of some of the pain I am feeling right now.
