Current mood:at peace

A v/c Moon, that becomes trine to Pluto(most excellent) and is in Taurus(good) right at the right time after being in Aries(friggen fantastic) at the right time, a Saturn still in Virgo(OH DIVINITY LOVES ME!), the end of the Mercury retrograde (at the perfect time! I've been introspective for quite a time and been very conflicted about a couple of issues. That conflict has resolved, more or less, some dislike a Mercury Retrograde, I CHERISH them, beginning, middle and end,) the sun is still in Capricorn (vedic), Mars is in Capricorn (super fun fantastic-especially tomorrow), The new Moon was in Capricorn. There are a number of other great events astrologically going on and my chart is impacted in great and positive ways. Those I am most excited about right now are Mars and Saturn. So powerful in so many pleasant and transmutative ways for me. There is so much going on right now. I am in the right place at the right time and dealing with all of the right people in a couple of different areas personal and public. It's refreshing because it is something that hasn't happened in about 2 years.

On the Mercury Retrograde (such a PERFECT time to come out of it!):

"Mercury rules our minds and mouths. It governs internal and external
communications as well as our thought processes. So whenever Mercury
goes into retrograde we are asked to be still and seek truth within.
Mercury retrograde is a time to receive inspiration and hear the voice
of spirit. It is a time for reflection, pondering and napping with a
dream journal. And since it is winter (for us Northern Hemisphere
folks) the advice of slow down and seek within is iterated and duly
noted. This is the reason Mercury retrograde: be reminded that all
truth resides within. External reality is only a mirror of what lies
within. However this Mercury Retrograde feels extra powerful since it
begins in Aquarius. Aquarius is ruled by Uranus, a higher octave of
Mercury. Where Mercury just governs your mouth and mind, Uranus
transforms your mouth and mind at lightning fast speed. There is
something powerful, transforming and timeless about Uranus. It has the
ability to help you conform to your soul’s truth beyond time. (When you
get right in this lifetime the benefits ripple simultaneously through
other lifetimes.) The fact that these two planets even get to interact
in this fashions screams: Rise—shake the dust from your being and rise
into Divinity. So I would suggest using the Mercury Retrograde to be
open to some revolutionary, evolutionary thoughts. Prepare to have your
mind shifted from "me-me" Capricorn to ”us-us” Aquarius. Really the Age
of Aquarius is dawning; here is a cosmic sticky-note to make sure we
get it right. However I also caution you to not get overly logical,
cold or harsh with yourself. Aquarius has wonderful intentions in
wanting everyone to be taken care of but can be quite cold about it. So
be sure not to beat yourself up with a logical barrage of why didn’t
I... Be kind and know that everything and everyone has its own space in
your Divine unfolding.

Also since Mercury will retrograde all the back way into Capricorn—take
some time to explore how you allow societal perception and obligation
to constrain you. If you are hip to the hip talk: examine how the man
keeps you down. Nothing quite says “fight the power” like Mercury
retrograde in Aquarius, especially when it’s joined by Pluto in
Capricorn and Jupiter in Aquarius!

If you didn’t know, Aquarius is the original rebel with a clue and a
damned good cause. It will never give up being a rebel because part of
its job is to keep us on our toes by showing us how to love each other
no matter how different we all appear. Aquarius sets the stage for the
cosmic orgy of mystic oneness that is Pisces. Aquarius is unique enough
to perceive itself as a separate entity while still percieving the
undercurrent of divinity unity. Since Mercury is retrograding in
Aquarius all this knowledge is available to you – right now!"

From January 15th through February 24th, Venus and Mars are working together to bring
more charm, seduction, persuasion, financial and professional success, and/or passion
into your communications, community relationships, and commercial activities.  Venus
is in your communications, community, and commerce sector.  Mars is in Capricorn,
your “me” sector.  Together, these two can bring passion, compassion, diplomacy,
tenacity, magnetism, and desire into your life.  These planets are the cosmic lovers
of the zodiac, so watch for some romance and a bit of playful seduction during this
time.  This is a lovely time for romantic connections with people in your local community,
spending time with each other’s relatives, and for finding a neighborhood community
that you feel at home in.  It is also an excellent energy for business communications,
contract negotiations, sales, public speaking, and computer work.

From January 26th through February 8th, Mercury joins Mars and Venus to help smooth
things over in the battle between Saturn and Uranus.  Mercury adds more negotiations,
communications, commerce, commitments, and/or business agreements to the energy helping
you smooth over travel, communications, and/or philosophical differences you are
having with someone.  You are in a better position to negotiate and to help those
involved find common ground.

As for my status message. It says it all. Ready for it all no matter the results of any of my ventures. The Universe has a plan and I'd be arrogant to think I can control it. All I can do is heed the call of the Universe and do it's bidding and be grateful and blessed.

My reading last detailed transformative destruction. I'm ready for it. Anticipating it, in fact.

January 21, 2009 - Wednesday
It tends to take me weeks before I am able to write the stories of the births of my children. I am humbled by the experience of pregnancy and birth and humbled to be given charge over these beautiful souls. Degory, like his brother and sisters before him, has taught me new things about myself that I never would have learned had he not come along. Those things are just for me, though ;)

Thanksgiving Day was my due date for our baby. Given the fact that I give birth at home unassisted after an unassisted pregnancy, the sex of our baby was unknown. I remained convinced I had another daughter and Rob was sure too, though he'd jest that the baby was a son. Turkey came. Turkey went. No baby. I gave up immediately thinking I could make the baby come. I just let the next few days come and go each giving me no baby in my arms. I had one night that labor started and then stopped. I had never had that happen before so I was really let down that next day.

Finally the morning came of Deg's birth. I woke up at around 3 am to pee. I got up and went and got back into bed after. I drifted right back off to sleep. I was awoken by a funny pop in my belly. I have never had my water break before labor started before. Zoe's broke as she crowned, Grace's was "broken for me" and Rune's came as I lost him. SO I had this pop. I thought, "huh, that's interesting. Something broke, but I'm in no pain, I must have had my waters break." I said something to Rob to that effect and then sat up and sure enough fluid came out. Our bed was covered in a plastic moving bag, so no danger of staining ;) the shet got soaked where I sat up though. Rob later checked it and the fluid had no meconium in it.

I grabbed something, a robe or shirt or something, I'm not even sure, and put it between my legs so I could get downstairs and not drip anything. I took my clothes off in the bathroom because I was getting hot-though not contracting yet. This was about 4am. Shortly after I got the candles int he bathroom lit, and chux pads set out on the floor in the bathroom, my contractions started. I am most comfortable upright so that is how I stayed the entire time. After my first contraction I texted Nicole, Auntie, Holly and Vanessa. I told Holly and Vanessa not to come yet as they were going to come as doulas-but I ended up not wanting anyone but Rob.

I labored really blissfully, and painlessly, just as anticipated. Once the urge to push came I went along just fine. Pain did come, though, when Deg was crowning. Later measurements of 13cm for his head proved the reason. Boy has a big noggin! I remember actually exclaiming to Rob this time as Deg's head was coming out that it hurt. That's the first time I've had pain in birth! It hurt. Really hurt. Pushing Deg out lasted probably 10 minutes. I don't recall how many times I pushed, it was a lot though. The time between pushing with the contractions was the hardest because I had to just stay put propping myself up using the sill of the window and the countertop in the bathroom. My arms got quite tired. After I got his head out the rest of him slid right out and I exclaimed that we had a boy. Rob caught him of course. His cord was wrapped around his left shoulder but that was quick and easy to undo. Degory screamed and screamed until I brought him to my breast. He took to my nipple immediately! I was quite impressed! This was about 5:45. Fastest labor yet!

Rob helped us move to the couch and I took my motherwort. About an hour passed and we cut the cord. Rob got out the scale sling and we weighed out chubby boy in at 9.4#, a later visit to the family practice MD gave us a 9#12 oz. reading. He measured 21.5" long. I gave him 9s for his apgars. He was a huge and healthy pink baby right at birth.

He has not been circumsized and there is no intention of having it done, either. Life has adjusted, and is still adjusting. I have such a sweet little man and he is giving us all so much!

That's all there is to it. Fast labor, big baby, healthy boy!

Current mood:  blessed
So I have the Polar Bear, Fox and white Squirrel. In each of them I see a great deal of myself. The one I see the most of at this present time is The Fox. I am in a couple of circumstances right now that require me to sit silently, watching and waiting. I have always had very keen observational skills, especially in groups of people. Group dynamics interest me greatly. One might construe invisibility or hiding in plain sight to be a negative attribute, but it is actually the contrary-especially how it is relating in my life right now. I have seen the outside of this group dynamic for quite some time and everything has happened EXACTLY the manner I thought it would. There is the foresight from that Squirrel visiting me! I have stored up quite a bit-knowledge, relationships, information and more and it's THIS CLOSE to being implemented. That the squirrel is white is amazing to me. I have been relaying this to a shaman woman that I know and she has had to point out to me the number of times I have said, "I hope you know my intentions are (this) not (that). I am not in it for anything other than the right reasons." She really actually told me that if she had a quarter for each time I said that to her regarding these two issues in group dynamics, she'd be a wealthy shaman. SHe did some energy work for me and has reassured me (because part of my brain asks me all the time-are you in this for the right reasons) that my heart is pure in intention. I have noble goals and nothing has mal-intent. *whew* that is such a relief! It's hard to know one's own TRUE intentions from time to time.
Now the Polar Bear. I really think the other 2 animals are visitors. After praying and talking it out and dreamwork, I am really coming to think that Polar Bear is my constant companion. Everything I do I do for the sake of right. I have come out of situations that no one else would have sanely made it out of.I am one to hibernate for the sake of clearning my thoughts, for the sake of organizing my thoughts and feelings. To turn into myself and renew. Out of every situation that taxes me, I come out stronger, no worse for the wear and having gained new insight to myself and the world around me. Of all three, Polar Bear really very much mirrors me-and in ways I am not even mentioning here.

These animal guides are so very important to me. I am thankful that they have come into my life and made themselves known. They have all three given me so much in terms of current situations in my life. I couldn't be more blessed.
January 20, 2009 - Tuesday
The last of my present spirit animals is The White Squirrel. I'm really quite fascinated with this creature. One doesn't need to do any research to know that squirrels are industrious and high energy and focused on their tasks. They store away for future needs, obviously having vision for things to come and being prepared for it. I did do the research though and here is, again with links, the info I got!

I'll mention first though, that I did ask a local shaman I know about the significance of the white, as I couldn't find anything online. She said to me the significance is: rarity and purity of heart and spirit.

Now on to the rest of the info

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Gathering, Activity, Preparedness.. ..
The gathering power of Squirrel is a great gift.
It teaches us balance within the circle of gathering and giving out.
They remind us that in our quest for our goals,
it is vital to make time for play and socializing.
Squirrel teaches us to conserve our energy for times of need.
If your totem is Squirrel or Squirrel has recently entered your life,
lighten your load of things that are unnecessary –
things that you have gathered in the past and may be cluttering your life –
thoughts, worries, and stresses.
Squirrel is also the totem of action.
Ask yourself are you too active, not active enough, afraid of enough,
hung up on accumulating and collecting.
Squirrel people tend to be a little erratic – trying to do many things at once.
Take the time to stop and listen to your inner self – and don’t forget to play!
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Squirrels always seem to have a plan in mind before they embark on anything and do not tend to rush in "willy-nilly". Studying Squirrels for a number of years now, I have noticed that they really appear to scope out a given situation, calculating the risks and potential pay-offs for taking those risks. So too do people who carry this medicine need to calculate carefully the risks involved before embarking on anything, especially major, long term goals. While Squirrel medicine is excellent for preparing and storing resources away for the future, they also have a quick, nervous energy that indicates they are not really suited for very long term projects. Its much better for Squirrel people as a general rule to seek out advantageous situations where they can get in, get what they need and get out again quickly. Because these animals are potential prey for many other animals, or may get hoisted by their own petard by teasing or even provoking other creatures, they need to move cautiously yet quickly. Otherwise they may end up exposing themselves to being preyed upon by others. The way for Squirrel people to get around this is by connecting with those who are more suited to working towards long range goals and as long as the Squirrel person pulls their fair share of the load, all will be well. The Squirrel person is apt to be able to finish smaller tasks more quickly and efficiently than one who is apt to spend too much time making sure all the details are in order. The Squirrel person can quickly scope out a situation, knows what actions need to be taken and simply does them. If the goal needs to be kept under wraps, its important that the Squirrel person heed the need for silence. By nature, Squirrels are very noisy and talkative, and so too very often are those who carry Squirrel medicine.

As mentioned in the previous entry, The Polar Bear has made him/herself present to me. The Polar Bear was the first of the three animals, last year. I dreamed of the bear often and then Kris also revealed him/her to me in my reading last year. Here is a compiling of the things I have learned about The Polar Bear and their links. You'll perhaps see a link between the three animals after I post about the Squirrel. It's quite interesting!

Bears are honored and respected by spiritualists the world over. Bears are known to impart pure and right wisdom and nothing profane will ever come from the noble Bear. Therefore they are trusted advisors in the spiritual world. The Bear possesses many animal virtues that are powerful and valuable and which any person would be wise to emulate or divine. One who has the power of the Bear will see enhanced leadership abilities, wisdom and fearlessness in defense; a better sense of self control allowing one the ability to use will-power to not speak when angered. Balance, harmony and strength are also all part of this noble totem’s magic.

The Magnificent Bear Totem possesses the following virtues: Right words and advise, clam reflective-ness, leadership abilities, courage to do what is right, medicine magic, shamanistic abilities, strong family values, devotion, reserved power, fearlessness in defense, and introspection.

Bear Animal Pearls are said to impart their particular magical virtues to their owner. Bear Pearls are characteristic of its host animal; they possess all the awesome characteristics that may be seen in the Bear itself; the balance and strength of this animal is contained within the pearl waiting for its proper owner to bestow its inner magic to that unique and fortunate individual. For century’s shamans, priestesses, spiritualists and practitioners of the occult have used Bear animal pearls to transfer the powerful magical energy of the Bear to themselves and to others in need of this commanding animal magic. Bear pearls are highly sought after by any wishing to absorb Bear virtues into their lives and develop stronger mental abilities such as those embodied by the powerful Bear. The owner of a Bear pearl will see their lives, spiritual energy and mental clarity imbued with all of the virtues attributed to the Shaman of the woods, the Bear. The Bear animal totem is a strong spirit indeed and its magical properties are one of the most influential of all animal totems. Strength in leadership, Shamanistic energy,  the wisdom to know when to speak, higher self-esteem and so much more can be integrated into the spirit of the possessor of this magical pearl and the Bear totem.

KEYWORDS: The gifts that bear offers to those with this totem are strength, introspection and knowledge. black bear brown bear kodiak bear polar bear totems bear medicine bears animal guide spirit guide animal guardianship

There are several types of bear including the Grizzly, Brown, Black, Kodiak and Polar. Unlike other animals who are active during a specific time of day, the bear is active both day and night. This symbolizes its connection with solar energy, that of strength and power, and lunar energy, that of intuition. It enhances and teaches those with this totem how to develop both within themselves. Bear has played a prominent role in many Native cultures. They are considered to be a highly desired ally and spirit helper because of its fearless power. It is believed that the power of Great spirit lives through this animal. Because of this a constellation was named for it, Ursus Major, The Great Bear. Some tribes prayed for medicine dreams that would show bear to be their guide. Others felt the bear was too powerful a medicine and would only hunt them if it meant not starving.

January 18, 2009 - Sunday

I have, after my birthday reading, become quite interested in animal totems. I have had three show themselves in two readings: The Fox, The Polar Bear and The White Squirrel. Given something quite funny that happened recently, I'll start with The Fox. I have done a little internet hunting and here are a few of the things I have come up with. It seems a Fox is a powerful and positive thing to be! Enjoy!

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
http://www.linsdomain.com/totems/pages/fox.htm
Magic, Shapeshifting, Invisibility
Fox are seen as totems throughout the world:
the Chinese believed they could take human form,
in Egypt the fox brought favor from the gods,
there was a fox god in Peru,
foxes help the dead get to the next life in Persia,
 Cherokees, Hopi other American Indian tribes
believed in its healing power;
the Apache credited the fox with giving man fire.
Since the fox lives "between times" --
on the edge of land, visible as dusk and dawn, and can guide the way to the Faerie Realm.
A fox can teach you to control your aura so that you can be more in harmony
with others and the world.
If you have a fox totem, learning to be invisible is very important in your life.
Imagine yourself blending in with your surroundings, becoming part of the background.
Be very still and quiet.
Through practice you can be unnoticed even at a party or in a crowd.
I have an acquaintance who used this power to evade several muggers;
he stood there in plain sight next to a building ,
and blended himself into the wall;
 they did not see him and left without harming him.  It can be done!
A fox totem also teaches good eating habits;
the fox eats small amounts frequently which medicine is now telling us is better for our health.
But fox people already knew this.
The fox is a wonderful totem to have.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

http://www.animaltotem.com/fox.html

Fox's clever nature makes it a master of camouflage. When hunted by hounds, Fox will psyche them out by doubling back on its own trail, and run around in circles to break the scent. It has the amazing ability to meld into the background, allowing it to quietly observe the situation around them.

Fox comes to us when we need to slip out of a situation so we can be silent witness to what is really taking place behind the scenes. We need to use our cleverness to our advantage, but we must remember to be discreet. Fox asks us to carefully look at where we are coming from, so we can remember to approach things with a clear conscious.

Trademarks of fox people.

As a fox person, you are cunning... but, as a witch, you don't use your powers for evil. Foxes can walk into a room, sit by themselves for a few moments and get the layout of how things are. You can tell the friendly people and happy people from the ones who wouldn't want you anywhere near them. You can see how things are. This helps you to see where you would best fit in the interaction of things. You can sense what people are feeling or thinking. This can be a hard thing to know. You can't hear thoughts, but you can sense emotions. This is helpful in dealing with people in some respects, but in others it can be difficult. You will learn with experience. This is one of the talents you will need to enhance as a Fox. You can sense people, develop this habit. Be careful not to take it instantly to heart, these senses can be wrong, especially at the beginning. You are out to help people. This is another thing that you are to learn. Always be a shoulder for others to cry on.

Another thing is you rely heavily on your ears. They are like an extra set of eyes. You will find in time that you can almost "see" with your ears. Your nose is also a powerful tool. Just tonight, I was smelling a strange smell almost like honey and no one else smelled it. I kept smelling it whenever I leaned my head down towards the chair, and finally narrowed the location down to the cushions. I discovered a broken cigarette lodged in the cushion. It's kinda funny. That ended up being what I smelled. It's interesting and fun to connect with your totem animal. Just remember, don't go too far... If you start smelling things out in public, they're going to call the Charter boys out on you pretty quickly :) Just relax and have fun with your new "talents".

http://www.angelfire.com/ar2/silentrealms/foxtotem.html

When the Spirit of the Fox enters your life, it brings adaptability, cunning, observation and quickness of thought and action. Changes may be happening in your life that need your attention. "Investigate" your surroundings and do not take the first thing said, or the first impression as the absolute truth. Look into all aspects of any situation. Even though it would be easier to have everything in "black and white", Fox reminds us of all the shades of gray in between and helps us adapt and keep an open mind... one that is willing to change if research brings out new information about the subject or situation in which we are involved.

Both male and female members of this intriguing animal are devout parents. The mother nurtures and teaches her young and the father provides food and comfort to his family. Fox spirit gives you a strong connection to your children, even long after they have left the family home.

The Fox can be a master teacher. It may be time to learn when to stand up and be counted and when to sit back and observe. You should learn to take notice of the actions, rather than the words, of others. Fox also brings a quickening of your mental and physical response to problems that you face. It can be a great time of learning. Fox gives you an increase in intuitive abilities, and you should learn to use this to your advantage. The Fox Totem can bring extraordinary dream teachings and great creativity.

THE SPIRIT OF THE FOX IS:
INVISIBILITY
CUNNING
SLYNESS
STEALTH
OBSERVATION
DIPLOMACY
WISDOM

Current mood:ready and waiting

For ages, womb-ed ones have looked upon the Moon as the source of their changing cycles. Many womb-ed ones still today note that their cycles correspond with the changing Moon (of course they all do, it's just whether or not it is noted by the womb-ed one in particular.) I, for instance, have always bled on the Full Moon and ovulated on the New. My children have all been expelled from my womb at the Full Moon, including my miscarried son. Daughter 1 was born as the Moon started to wane (the Moon is full for three days, she was born on the third day of the Full Moon.) My second daughter the Moon was one day full and my son was born (yes, born,) on the exact hour the Moon was full.

I am thrilled that I am lightening and effacing and dilating right now, as Friday is the Full Moon (also my second daughter's third birthday.) I am feeling more and more that this child could be here very soon...sooner than Thanksgiving-her due date (I strongly feel this is another daughter. If not a daughter, then a very feminine son. Beautiful either direction!)

There is much to be said regarding children born at the Full Moon. The Moon herself is at her fullest glory-just as a pregnant mother. After she is full she sheds, she loses size, Much as we shed during menses, losing life blood, we shed at the height of our pregnancy the children our wombs have housed for ten Moons.

Often, a hospital will increase it's staffing at the Full Moon, not just in the ER but also in the Maternity ward. Birthrates DO increase during the Full Moon, but only slightly. Even still babies like to be shed at the Full of the Moon.

I adore the shining Moon. Last night I took a break from my crazy nesting and went out in my sweater to let her glow on me. It always feels new and cleansing and refreshing to have Her light shine on me. My spirit is renewed and energy is restored. I thought that I hadn't any energy left to finish my tasks last night, but after soaking in her light, I was able to finish. She renewed me yet again to prepare for the shedding of my child from my womb.

Since I have notoriously late babies, I thought I'd set up a pool this time...just for fun (no gambling, but if someone sets a wager, I've got $50 on my date on the pool...)

So have at it...anyone can do it, you don't even have to register on the site!

in case the game doesn't pop up, the game name is "CurrentOccupant"

Have fun guessing!!
