Click on the company banner and you'll be taken right to the page to see our existing line with more to come. We'll be adding anything related to pop culture, catch phrases, poker, and even our local fantasy sports teams. We're just startin' out so help us out and buy a shirt or two.

What's up y'all? I've been going through blog withdrawals. OK, not really, but I have been to a bunch of cool shows and I have yet to really share the info so I'm making up for it now.
First off, in late April we had Hootie and The Blowfish at the Silverton Casino. Kerry, Rebecca, Danielle, Will, and Geno all caught the show. It was the first "concert around the pool" type setting I've gone to and it was great. You had knuckleheads jumping in the pool, the band was betting which side would have folks jump in first, and it was an all around good time. The plus side was that they played the entire Cracked Rear View album from front to back. They threw in a few extras but it was all in all a great time. I can't wait til they come back. I hear they'll be back in August. The band, or parts of the band, are part owners of the casino so they are regulars there.
About a week and a half ago Samantha and I caught Aslyn and The Fray. Aslyn was up first and she had that hit single "Be The Girl" that had some regular airplay. She played an unplugged set and it was quite awesome. She sounds better this way than she does on CD and Radio. It was too bad they didn't sell a the CD of that night's show. The Fray came out and that's who we were waiting to see. They were quite fun. They had some tributes to CCR, Joc Cocker, and a few others and it just flowed really well. Their big hit is "Over My Head" and I would pay to see them again.
From there we had our semi big weekend of shows this past weekend. Danielle, Will, Cheryl , and I caught The Goo Goo Dolls at Red Rock Station. It's one of the newer casinos in town. They had a concert around the pool and this pool was awesome. We had VIP wristbands that led us over to a cabana area and a couple of private bars. The only bummer part was that they seemed to play such a short show. It was an hour and fifteen minutes long at best. Cheryl's husband Jeff came by and got us into the nightclub in the casino called Cherry. It was a cpretty cool place as far as clubs and atmosphere go. That and the drinks went down like candy every time. I totally want to take the giant smiling cherries from the fron of the place and use it for home decor. Don't laugh, they were cool!
I was going to try and check out Staind at the Palms the next night but I got really lazy. So I skipped out on it, even though I know I'd regret it, and went to P.O.D. with Danielle last night. These guys put on a show. They had three other bands with them but we opted to eat when the first two came on. We caught the tale end of the third and we can say we missed out on that. P.O.D. is definitely a band to check out. We were on the upper level so we watched as folks got hammered and mauled in the pit but what made these guys so cool was their crowd interaction. They would toss the cordless mic out into the crowd during a couple of songs and let folks in the crowd be a part of the show for hald a chorus and on command the mic would be thrown back at the right time. For Youth of a Nation they had a bunch of kids up n stage that they brought up from the crowd and even a couple of those kids got in on the chorus for that. It was sick!. Take a shot and see those guys if you get a chance.
Next up is Sugarland this Sunday. I talked Loryann into coming into town a few days earlier than expected so we can kick of Mandalay's Summer Beach concert series with Sugarland. Weird how some folks, Just Might make ya believe. From there we have Ron White next week so it's gonna be some fun.
I love ya a miss ya mass,
J

The first part of this game starts with "6 weird things/habits about yourself" and the people who get tagged need to write a blog of their 6 as well. State this rule clearly! In the end you need to choose 7 people to be tagged and list their names. Don't forget to leave a comment that says "you are tagged" in their comments and tell them to read yours
1. I carry a purple rock in my pocket for my goddaughter Bryce. She picked it out for me on a Reno trip at a shop near Circus Circus because she knew that it was my favorite color. It goes with me everywhere.
2. Whenever I gamble I usually play the minimum on a game only because my winning ways only happen when the greed is not involved.
3. I can't stand onions due to their weird texture. One small piece of onion in my mouth will make me want to stop eating all together.
4. I've barely sang any karaoke down here in Vegas and I miss Sacramento's karaoke scene terribly.
5. I grind my teeth when I'm sleeping and it had been described by some as the sound of someone chewing on marbles.
6. Every time I fly out of Sacramento I would stop at my friend Kim's gravesite within a day of the flight and tell her "I'll see you in a while or see you in a few minutes." In Vegas I do that with a picture in visor of my truck.
I now tag Loryann, Rachel, Kerry, Rebecca, Tiffany, Chris, and Carly.

What's up fom Philly Myspacers?!?!?!
So I was out with a gang of co-workers last night. Some cut out early but that was cool... LAUREN. We went out to a place call "The Troc" a.k.a. Trocadero Theatre. There was some live event with a band called Gogol Bordello. It was descrbed to me as a gypsy punk type band. That was fairly accurate. I would also toss in some reggae beats, twin Asian gal percussionists, an old raggedy violinist, oddly enough a rock accordion player, and a lead singer that kind of looked like he might have came from The Blue Oyster Bar in those Police Academy movies. The place was crackin'! The venue is kind of like The Crest Theatre for those in Sactown except maybe only 1/3 the size and you have to through in the late 1800's East Coast architecture. The floor was outrageously packed so I kept my old ass upstairs. At times, when the show was on and the lights had this red orange tinge to it, I felt as though I was watching that club scene from Blade and just waiting for all this blood to get sprayed about. Don't get me wrong it was cool, it just made me think of that. The place wasn't all that goth at all in comparison to what I've seen in the past. This venue drew in all kinds of folks and everyone was having a great time.
So David, Sean, Kate, and I left the place and guy by the name of Jamie was looking for Kate out in front of the venue and we all made our way to Sean's rig cuz he was driving us to the next location. As we made way through ALL of Philly to get to a parking spot, thanks Sean, Dave was getting a bit concerned of Sean's NASCAResque driving in the thin and nearly nonexistant streets of PA. You know, I've never pictured myself ina video game like Grand Theft Auto or some of them other driving games but somehow I do get a sense that Sean may feel like he's in a game while driving. It was actually a lot of fun. He's still tame compared to LA drivers though so ya got some work cut out for ya buddy! When we parked this older bald guy had tried to say Sean knocked into his car twice while parking. He really only bumped him once. The other time was me hitting the side of the car when he was backing up. How the hell was I supposed to know that some tool would be watching their parked car at 1:00am? He wanted to start something but I assure you was to afraid to really try. Nothing even happend to "wicked retahhded" truck. We knew he wasn't all that smahht so we let him be retahhded on his own. Anyhow, I've already forgotten the name of the bar but they had karaoke there. HOWEVER, they closed the list only minutes before I got there. I forget other places aren't virtually 24 hours like LV! I figured, oh well, next time. So after 1 drink and this bar closing the upstairs area and closing the list for karaoke we had another several block venture of locating the rig. Did I mention we lost Jamie? Yeah, Jamie went back to the car when Sean recognized that it would be in his best interest to relocate his vehicle. Well, Sean had to have been long gone by the time Jamie got back to the car so he stumbled in to the first available bar he could find. He was, according to him, being propositioned at tever turn because he was walking down 13th St. Apparently 13 St. here must be equal to Castro in the bay area. Well, we found him so he wouldn't be stranded on his own. Sean dropped me off at my car and I took David back to the opposite side of town. Gotta love GPS in the rental car man. Screw Mapquest!!!
So now I have the weekend to do whatever and no al clue what to really go out and do. I'm thinkin' about going to A.C. but I'm not really sure I wanna go. I guess I should check my comps first. If I have a night at Harrah's I may crash out there.
On a final note, the band Gogol Bordello is way different but in a very good way. If you like finding some obscure stuff then I think you should check them out.
Until next time...
J

Sami, Dani, Dave, Jolene, Stacey, April, and I went out to House of Blues for Carlos Mencia. We ate dinner in their restaurant first because it would give us a shot to skip the long ass line before the show. It was soooo worth it too because we lined up a perfect spot at the bar. I think Sami and Dave were hammered before the show started since it started late. We went to the later of the two shows since we knew the late show would be better than the first.
The first comedian was Carlos' older brother. We couldn't tell if he was any good because he mumbled through his whole 5 minute set. I didn't get the second comedian's name but she was hysterical. She had some physical comedy as well as some quick with in her set. The guy that stole the show was this "little person" and I would pay to see him any day. Stacey wanted to add him to her collection. I confirmed it too. This guy was all over the place and just really getting the crowd lit up.
Carlos came out and he made sure no one was safe from getting picked on. He was as funny as everyone has told me over the past couple of years. He picked on a few folks in the audience whenever they spouted out. This gal from UNLV got the worst of it. She got ripped on by everyone and she must have had some mouth on he because they all let loose on her after awhile and the audience turned on her a bit too.
Once Carlos was done with his set. The little guy came out and they battled with Yo Momma jokes and other similar stuff. Carlos then invited one gal up on stage and gave her an experience she'd never forget. He said, "You'll remember this night forever because you know the first thing you'll tell your friends when you get home is that I got a lap dance from a midget!" The little guy came back out and hopped on her lap, did a handstand grind, and a few other tricks. It was funny.
So Liz will be here on Saturday and we're catchin' Dane Cook fools!!! "Welcome to the thunderdome... biatch!!!"
Will post again soon,
J

OK, so I figured it was time for a haircut today. Just the usual... 1 on the sides and back and an inch off the length. WEEEEEEEEEEEEEELLLLLLL... That didn't happen! This guy thought I said a 1 clipper guard up the side and started barely after I finished my sentence. Talk about being in a hurry. He already clipped half the right side of my head before I could stop him and point out his error. By this time I was already hosed. I've been getting this cut forever and he's the first bonehead to flat out miss on the concept. He said he's finish the job and make sure it looked the way I had stated. By this point I didn't know of anywhere else to go to and I wasn't gonna walk around with half a haircut searching for another spot. So I let him proceed with his "fix" and that was a mistake. He gave me a fade with the 1 guard cut straight up into my locks! What part of "an inch off the length" did he not get? I was rather bent but took it in stride considering I've never had such an error happen before. He wryly said that the cut was on him and I replied, "No shit it's on you. You're lucky I don't kick your ass as your tip." I rarely get upset with service people in any position but that was just ridiculous.
So as I drove home I called a couple of friends to vent. In the midst of conversation, Danielle points out that her sister is a stylist across town. I hit the road towards Summerlin, picked up Danielle, and stopped into the shop. We were all having a great laugh at the butcher job I got from that comprehension challenged moron. At best, I could decribe the end result of the hacking as a combination of the dude from Kid N Play and an eraser. I have a narrow head as it is and this just accentuated it. Oh, maybe throw in a little Bert from Bert and Ernie too! Have your chuckles, I know I did. I'm sure I wouldn't be even half as bent if I didn't have a trip to Philly planned to go to the home office. I'll suffer through it though.
Anyhow, Cheryl was awesome. I told her to do whatever she thought was best and now it at least looks more balanced than it was before. Talk about frustrating. I'm asking her to be my permanent stylist now and I owe her big time from making the best of an otherwise bad situation. Thank you Cheryl!!! I owe ya big time! I'll be posting a couple of pics in a bit so check them out and laugh, cry, comment or whatever if ya want.
Headin' out to Mencia now.

OK, so it's been a little bit since I've done one of these but y'all are gonna get hit up with a few of them given all the events going on over the next couple of weeks.
Danielle and I met up at Hard Rock to catch AAR and FOB. I had heard about this show months ago and knew it was on the same night as Train @ The Palms but I've seen Train a few times and I've never caught these two so I figured I'd check it out. There were actually 4 bands on the bill but we decided to eat instead of see the first two.
When we finally went in to The Joint, AAR was about to get started. I walked in there really only knowing Dirtly Little Secret but I found myself knowing and liking a couple other songs in their set. They played a short set but man did they have some energy! The lead had some issues with some of the higher notes but he covered it well. To quote Mr Randy Jackson "Yo Dawgs it was aiiight. It was a little pitchy in some parts and it wasn't my favorite performance of yours but I still liked ya." There were some crazy folks in the venue that were body surfing but they they started getting flipped up in the air. I'm talking 2-3 ft of flipped up in the air type stuff. One guy looked like he was literaly launched from the top of the crowd.
Fall Out Boy came out after a short set change. They had all kinds of videos running as they played their set. I ended up sending a "You've Been Gambitized!!!" message out to the Hard Rock through their Verizon text thing. That's MGM and now Hard Rock so Mandalay has to be next! Anyhow, they sounded much better than that poor performance I saw on Saturday Night live several weeks ago. However, the guitar player kept doing the same couple of moves and spit sprayed water or something the entire time. That and the bass player had something to say between every single song that I couldn't always get into the groove of enjoying the music. They did make up for it with some good transitions in the end.
Overall I enjoyed the two bands but I have to mention that FOB had a slight break in their set and they had some guy come out and attempt to pound an entire 2 liter of Mountain Dew. I'm a Mountain Dew addict and I can't do that by any stretch. He made it half way through and uhh... he had some... uh... rentention issues with it. Good thing I was far enough away to not hear it or see it actually happen otherwise my night would have been cut short.
Anyhow, Saturday is Carlos Mencia with Sami, Danielle, Stacey, Dave, Jolene, and April. We might even be going to The Foundation Room afterwards. I've already heard a lot about this place so I hope I get a chance to see it because I don't have any contacts to get in there on my own. It's all about who ya know.
Look for the next one this weekend.

Ahhh, another day and yet another concert. Ya gotta love this town. Last night I caught Bon Jovi with some friends and acquaintences out at the MGM Grand Garden Arena. I went for two reasons. A.) Duh , it's Bon Jovi. B.) My friend's sister was to sick to go. I hated being there due to someone else's misfortune but man this was a fun night. My ears are still ringing and I hope that part goes away soon.
We started out eating at Wolfgang Puck's Cafe in the MGM. Man they had some good food and dessert there. It was a bit pricey but it was worth it. After the meal we decided to just head striaght in to the venue. A local band known as Ashbury was the opening act. Tey won a contest that 94.1 FM put on around the area. The band I saw a couple weeks ago, Away Station, had a shot at it but I guess their following isn't large enough yet. Ashbury was pretty good so I could see why they won. They had some decent enregy going when the songs called for it. There were 5 large screens in the background that had a scrolling text with messages from folks text messaging into a Sprint #. After a few minutes I decided to Gambitize the whole arena. I sent in MGM, YOU"VE BEEN GAMBITIZED!!! Year's ago it was the Hoover Dam and the Stratosphere and yesterday was the MGM... What next? Anyhow, back to the music... like I was saying, Ashbury had some good stuff. Nothing I'd buy and pick up but something to enjoy for the moment.
Bon Jovi came on at 9pm and Jon started out right at the back of the arena on a platform. I knew that was going to happen due to some tickets I saw on ebay over the last few weeks. He rocked us out with Last Man Standing and then walked on the opposite side of the arena, from where we were, to the stage. We were second row on the lower level and had a clear view of everything. Man were they on fire last night. Everything sounded fantastic and they played for 3 hours. That included about 3 encores too. At one point Jon cam back into the crowd, walked within arms distance of me in my section, and walked up about halfway up the section to a platform there. He sang slightly tones down versions of Blaze of Glory and Bed of Roses up there. As he sang Bed of Roses he slowly walked down and hugged, kissed, or was kissed by lots of adoring fans. He walked within arms distance of me again and kept on going to the stage. My friend Danielle was in a frenzy. She's most definitely in love with Jon. She even picked up a Mrs. Bon Jovi shirt! I think her obsession might be as strong as Liz's obsession with Dane Cook if not stronger.
So overall it was quite an evening. They sang Someday I'll Be Saturday Night and I was 100% satisfied at that point. Let me tell ya, they were workin' hard last night. Triple overtime I'd say. I spent a little bit of time in the casino as the crowds were rushing out. I heard that Jon and Richie were at one of the bars but I didn't bother lookin' because I figured there would be swarms there. If they head out to Sacown, you aren't gonna wanna miss this.
OK, now I've got taxes to work on otherwise I'mhosed for my appointment a week from today. Take care and I'll talk to or see you soon!
