Not all was smiles for one particular designer, on the morning of Vera Wang's highly anticipated Spring 2007 runway show, her beloved father passed away. A seminal figure in Wang's life and career, it is he whom she credits as encouraging her to first create bridal gowns. The sad news was delivered to the show's attendees by a simple note found on each chair. It read "In memory of C.C. Wang." Unable to cancel or reschedule, the designer bravely made an appearance. At the end of her show, Wang walked solo down the runway, tears streaming down her cheeks, while the crowd which included Sarah Michelle Gellar and Kanye West, rose in ovation to salute her. There was hardly a dry eye in the room. As the saying goes "the show must go on" and for designer Vera Wang, those words have never been harder than they were today. {I Wish her the best!}
