Yup yours truly will be guest appearing once again at this year's New York City Comic Con at the Jacob Javits Center Feb 6-7-8! I'll be representing Ripley's Beilieve It or Not. I'll also be working for the Kimono company Kujaku Trading booth #2145 so come on by an visit me. Buy a cool, decently priced, Japanese kimono (American sized too!) and pick up a free, $5 discounted admission pass for the most freakiest museum on the East Coast, Ripley's! Hey my peoples I been working with LilHevn, a Gothic and Sweet Lolita designer here in NYC. We collaborated on a cos-play lolita outfit for this Halloween. I was interviewed by Time Out NY. The article is about the Lolita scene and culture here in the US focusing on New York. Besides interview material my picture is featured in the article as well.

I was interviewed recently by Time Out New York for an article on Lolita fashion and culture. My lolita persona is Chu Chu Bubblegum. She's my way of giving homage to all those bubbly girls from "Ecchi" Anime that love showering their male/female conterparts with overt displays of affection!

On this shoot I worked with LilHevn, designer of Cosplay, Gothic and Sweet Lolita. She's an awesome person to work with and totally understands Japanese Culture and Lolita Lifestyle. I've met many people into Japanese culture and fashion but this lady takes the cake. She taught me a lot about Ganguro and lolita. I thank her for it, lol! I have a new appreciation for lolita in general and my fellow Akibara/ Harajuku people!

William R. Macleod was the fashion photographer for this shoot. He is the Mcgyver of photography! Totally a blast to work with and his skills with a camera are so good it's a sin!

Make Up Artistry: I am skilled in various styles and images with make up ranging from period, beauty, aging, Anime and special effects (prosthetics latex, etc). I can adjust the make up to fit film, television or stage environments. My equipment is sterile and up to date. I have a fully stocked kit. Thus TFP's normally come with a kit fee to insure that I stay full equipped. The materials I use are hypo allergenic. I perform a derma test before using any latex products on clients to determine if you may or may not be allergic. I use Ben-Nye, M.A.C. and Make Up Forever, Sephora products as well as a few other companies. I also provide styling as well as wig care and wig modification/ customization.

 

Rates and Services:

TFP-$50 kit fee, this can be negotiated

Headshot/ Model Portfolio (one look)- $100

Headshot/ Model Portfolio (two looks)- 150

High Fashion/ Theatrical (one model)- $125 for the whole day, additional $25 per extra model on same shoot.

Geisha Make Up and Styling- $150 * kimono can be provided with rental fee.

Fashion Show/ Theater- $200 for whole day depending on number of models/ performers.

TV and Movie – Half Day [1-3hrs] $150, Full Day [4-6hrs] $300

Special Effects- $50-$200 *Varies depending on the effect or prosthetic desired and number of people.

Wardrobe Styling- for male or female $50

Help Reporter with Story: One of my contacts at TimeOut Magazine needs help with a couple of stories, so if anyone can help please email me and I will forward your email and the information you send me.


The story this time is on the rise of Lolita fashion and subculture in NYC. This import from Japan's Harajuku street scene is a mixture of Goth and Victorian girlishness.


The Times recently did a story on it with some great images to showcase the trend:

What I need to research is how strong the subculture is in NYC, so if you know of anyone who is part of the scene or has friends in the scene, pls let me know.


Also, I need to find stores in NYC/Brooklyn that carry Lolita fashion. If any of you have leads, that would be great.


Lastly, I want to correlate the youth subculture with trends in high fashion, so if you can think of any recent collections or designers that pop to mind as having shown fashions that have a Lolita edge that would rock.


And finally, I also need to talk about the scene from a cross-dressing perspective.

This is a chance for people to hear about us and our fashion. Get on the ball and talk to this person! ^_^

Every vote counts! Sadly, statistics show Asian Pacific Islander Americans have the lowest rates of voter participation among all ethnic groups, and Asian American women have the lowest rates of voter participation among all groups, with less than one quarter of eligible voters actually registering to vote. While there may be many cultural reasons behind the dismal numbers, APATHY is our worst enemy.


As an Asian Pacific Islander American, your right to vote is one of the most valuable rights you will ever have. The freedom to choose the direction of a nation is a powerful and liberating force. We need to start talking about voter participation in the APIA community, challenge ourselves to become civically engaged, empower ourselves with knowledge of the candidates, and ultimately, have a voice in where we believe this country should be headed.

New York's fetish celebutanut, Fashion designer Emilie Jerard, will be premiering her Fetish Couture collection for the TES Fetish Convention July 4, 9pm at the Radission Hotel in Piscataway, New Jersey. I Banzai Geisha and Banzai Pariah will be modeling for EJ Fetish Couture! If you are coming to TES be sure to chec out the fashion show. We've put alot of effort as well as funds into making our portion of the show Fabulous! Many thanks to the designer Emilie Jerard for paying for every model to attend the convention as well as giving us the opportinity to wear fetish designs never done before for the BDSM scene. I will keep you posted on new developments and happenings for this amazing woman. Her's is a name you shouldn't forget! Emilie Jerard is the new "IT" factor in Fetish Couture!

It's all live!!!!!!!! This show will ick of the next event tomorrow night at Port41 Bikini Bar 344W41st Street and 9th Ave at 10:30pm $5 cover!. ColorsProject will be hosting that party which should be a lot of fun. Tell them GeishaVi sent ya!. If you think naughty thoughts about me while I'm on the TV screen make them good!
