Ghost Ghost rocks "St. Valentine's Day Massacre" at Lit Lounge in New York City's East Village. 1/2/2009, "Ghost Ghost vs. 2009" show.

The Time is Gravity advanced listening party took place last night (10/24/08) on a rooftop in the East Village. There was drinking there was snacking, and there was holding hands over candlelight...almost. In attendance was Adam Chimera who helped record, mix, and engineer the record. Also in attendance was Trevor Wencl from the Bay Area art pop band HIJK - in town for the annual NYC music fest CMJ. East Village music scene veteran and former Ninth Street Mission lead guitarist Quinn Raymond (who himself is about to release a new solo album) was there with members of his new band NAQ (NAQ is: Namrata Tripathi Raymond and Akhill Chopra). Historical note: Raymond also once served in The Speed Nuts a 90s punk band featuring current Ghost Ghost bassist Kevin Peckham, Seattle-based poet and former Hijack the Disco drummer Mike DeBlois and current HIJK bassist Mike Mahony.

As far as historians of the future can piece together from fragments of blurry photos and archival documents, the album was well received. The crowd favorite from last night's party seemed to be the title track "Time is Gravity" a song about a girl, archery, and physics. The new Ghost Ghost e.p. Time is Gravity is done. We brought the 5 track, 18.4 minute bundle of joy home from the mastering plant yesterday. It has Karl's nose, Tim's smile, and Kevin's haunting, guilt-riddled eyes. Though cute, we suggest you do not turn your back on this creature - even for a minute. Remember, this is a wild animal, and it does want to kill you. It senses your presence and wants to destroy you with rock. After November 1st I would recommend sleeping with one or both eyes open... I've actually stopped sleeping completely. And I never so much as sit down.... And yet I fear for my life....Help me.

Thank you to eveyone who came out to our second consecutive Saturday appearance at Arlene's Grocery in NYC's lower East Side. Special thanks to DC's City Veins and to The Blackout Project for sharing the bill. And thanks to Julia, the Arlene's Grocery booking agent for having us back two weeks in a row. Despite crazy torrential downpours, thunder, lightning, and the the voice of a very angry and very scared Charlton Heston crying out from above "My hands are freezing!", we had a good turn-out and we had lots of fun.

The show was videotaped and multi-tracked so stay tuned for subsequent video and / or audio releases. Thanks to Ghost Ghost roomy and new band videographer Alex for his keen eye and handy skills with the video camera, and thanks to Danny of Germ Recordings for the multi-track recording.

Our own and favorite FOH engineer Adam Chimera was sadly absent, and we were forced to struggle on without him. Never again, if we can help it, never again...

Quinn Raymond of Ninth Street Mission and various NYC musical projects, once again proved he is a patient friend and loyal fan by coming to the show, hanging out till late, and helping me day dream about fights with elbow-tattooed, falafel-craving mercenary space-pirates on Houston street at 3:30 am. If you've never seen Quinn Raymond perform then... I don't believe you. You're next chance will be Sunday June 29th at Cafe Brama at 157 Second Avenue (between 9th and 10th Streets). Quinn will be playing with his beautiful wife Nami, and the magical mystery man known as Akhill Chopra.
