OK, here is something that really clarifies the thinking of many Americans on both sides of the political boxing ring. Colin Powell articulates the rational thinking which has led to many people's decision to support the change that must take place to restore the solid foundation of our nation.

This is one of the most moving films that I ran across in a long time. Somewhat obscure but well worth the look. It takes place in the Dominican Republic and stars Selma Hyek and James Olmos. It really makes you appreciate your freedom and civil liberties. "The Time of The Butterflies". Here is the link

Hello my friends and soon to be friends. It's been a while since I've updated this thing, so I think it's time, don't you? Alright, I've posted a new poetry reading on my youtube blog, so if you go to my profile you'll see it in the menu option on the video window or simply go to youtube.com/gregorymikell Enjoy!!

I'm on my way over to post some new pix of some summer fun I've had up at Lake George while on work assignment. So have a look and smile. OK, envy the sailing if you must - Life was good....

This weekend I'll have a more detailed video on youtube telling you what my entire summer has comprised of you, for those who can pry yourselves away form reality TV for a few moments, or who have taken all that you can take from election news, war...yeah, it can be depressing, but it matters. Till next time my peeps.

I've posted some still photos of some of what I've been up to over the past few months. It's been a pretty great spring and "the heat is on". There has been a lot of great events happening in and around the city over the past few months and I have seen some pretty terrific things. One of the best was the 50th anniversary tribute to Thelonius Monk, one of the most oriignal and least understood jazz icons of our time. I'm looking forward to sharing a little of the experience with you all in my next TMN update here and on YouTube as usual.

As I created the online update I said that I would also share some of my other creative interests in addition to my acting. So I'll introduce you to some of my poetry in the coming months online as a way to let you get to see a little more of what I'm all about.

There is also some great theatre out there to check out so don't hide from the hot weather too much.

Peace

Why the hell can't a woman talk to a guy, to break the ice? Then I wouldn't mind doing the other things that are expected like pick the place to go on the first date. Make a real effort. But If I'm expected to suffer possible humiliation, flattering and stroking her ego to make her feel like the only woman on the planet; expected to have bank, a well paying job, be educated, strong and sensitive all in one breadth; don't I as A guy have the right to some small concession?! ...and I'm not talking about sex on the first date...

I mean the kind of woman that a decent guy would want to date. I see such extremes. The New York chick, who subscribes to the Sex & the City bible of dating, where sex is simply a physical experience and she hops from one bed to the next like Hillary Clinton hops from one lie to the next when campaigning. I've seen the other extreme where they subscribe to their mother's bible of dating....He's gonna cheat on you anyway so MAKE 'EM' PAY....Ugggghhh. Come on ladies, you fought for liberation so step up and carry the ball a little, just leave our in tact.

OK, sit back and have a cup of coffee and please help me LOL...You've got to verify my sanity. I'm walking home a few minutes ago and glance over at what I THINK is an acquaintance but I can't tell as she's wearing the..I don't know ANNE KLINE sunglasses. You know, the type that people wear who don't want to be seen, incognito so to speak. I get home and have the following conversation, if you call texting a conversation.

T: How could you pass by me and not notice me...

Me: I thought that it was you but I couldn't be sure with the glasses...

T: (Offended) Everyone tells me that it's my fashion and hair that makes me me...

Me: OK...but if you knew for sure that it was me, why didn't you say something?!

T: Whatever, I was busy there...

I'm thinking, how busy could you have been if you had time to notice me walk by and then text me for the next few minutes...And god forbid you actually pick up the phone and bitch me out - unjustifiable or not!!??
