GUS GUS "24/7" IS OUT NOW!!

Photobucket

Buy it directly from the band:

The GusGus Superstore

You could compare GusGus’s 6th studio album with a whale. An animal that spends most of its time under the surface, but when it comes up above sea-level, it usually surfaces with a magnificent speciality – much like the latest GusGus creation. Therefore, you should not glean over this work; every moment of it is laid out with painstaking and elaborate candour.

24/7 is a wet dream

The spine of the music is original, created in the 'intestines’ of GusGus. 'On the Job' is the working man..s phrenetic song to the unbroken animal called love. The opus 'Thin Ice' describes the bloated donkey dancing on ice. And in 'Add This Song' the listener is encouraged to add that particular song to his collection.

The GusGus analogue sound environment has never been better, and Daníel Ágúst’s vocals take the reigns again and thus opens the group’s variability to new heights. As on previous occasions GusGus performs a song written by Jimi Tenor, the fantastic 'Take me Baby' where Jimi Tenor is a guest singer. 'Hateful' is a pretty family-type song that GusGus and Aaron-Carl composed together while being on different sides of the Atlantic.

GusGus are easily one of the most well known acts in electronic music today with over 5 million albums sold in their illustrious career. Don’t call it a comeback but their signing to Kompakt marks a crucial step forward for the band and dare we say their most impressive recordings to date. It also marks the return of Daníel Ágúst as a full member for the first time since the 4AD years.

24/7 is an overwhelming, multifarious, interwoven and braided musical atmosphere where the listener has to surrender to the music and adhere to the conditions that the music demands. For fifty-six minutes. (Music News)

GUSGUS - NEWSLETTER AUGUST 2009

....

=  =  = ....

THE BIG DAY IS COMING....

The waiting for the new GusGus studio album will soon be over. It has been a very enjoyable time, something like a gestation period full of natural suspense. GusGus has been like a mother of many children, stooped from experience, but very cordial, considering each one of her children special and unique. The birth of “24/7” the new album, so to speak, has been set a few months ago. It still is and will be on the 14 of September 2009. ....

You’ll find the following tunes on the new album:....

1. Thin Ice (08:24)
2. Hateful (09:37)
3. On The Job (10:50)
4. Take Me Baby - Feat. Jimi Tenor (03:58)
5. ....Bremen.... Cowboy (07:51)
6. Add This Song (11:35)....

+ The first Single – Add This Song – is out already....

.. ..

GusGus has just put the first single from the upcoming Studio Album on the market.

And the immediate reaction has been tremendously positive.

.. ..

.. ..

On the Single you..ll find five different versions of the 12” original “Add This Song”. To begin with there is the 12” version, but then there are remixes from the able hands (and minds) of Lopazz & Zarook, Patrick Chardronnet, Gluteus Maximus, and Klovn (whose remix is only to be found on the digital issue).

.. ..

John Digweed is just flabbergasted by Paterick Chardronnet..s remix and this version is now in second place of Digweed..s tunes most often played these days.   “Add This Song” is also praised by Resident Advisor, Mixmag, XLR8R just to name a few and RECORD COLLECTOR. The good people over at Resident Advisor have awarded the Single four out of five possible and they are painfully looking forward to the “24/7” debut.

.. ..

You can, of course, get the Single on iTunes, Amazon, Kompakt and even further afield.

.. ..

.. ..

.. ..

The Video is coming very soon and it has some awesome cast.

++ Sonar, Roumania, Kosovo and Copenhagen ++

....

....

The concerts that GusGus appeared at during the month of June were a screaming success and goosepimple-producing affairs. Of course it is impossible to see and

hear a difference between good concerts and good audiences, but the Kompakt Night at the Sonar was wonderful, putting it mildly. However, Romania, Kosovo,

and ....Copenhagen.... ran up close. At Sonar GusGus were amidst good friends and the evening was an occasion to remember, - as you can see and hear here:

+++ Klaus Sverrisson +++....

.. ..

As most if not all GusGus admirers have noticed there a New Look has been created for the GusGus band members. A new image does not appear overnight. The radical

change would not have been possible without the help of the GusGus friend and Super Stylist Klaus Sverrisson from ..Wuppertal.. in ....Germany..... Klaus is a sensitive artist

who takes his profession seriously – and the whole operation took a lot of work as can be seen in SOS – Rescue Operation, Episode 1,2, & 3.  Have a look:
