Heather Henson’s Film Series, Handmade Puppet Dreams will present HMPD “For Families” as part of the Delray Beach Film Festival. The screening takes place Saturday May 23, 2009 at 10:00am. This free screening is for ages 2 & up and also includes a hands-on Puppet Workshop based on John Kennedy’s film, The Sure Sheep.

Description:
Handmade Puppet Dreams For Families is a collection of puppet film shorts for young people ages 2 and up, created by independent artists exploring their handmade craft specifically for the camera. The mission of HMPD For Families is to inspire young people and their families in the art of puppetry and film, as well as create opportunities for dramatizing, creating, and exploring aesthetically sophisticated puppetry. Following the screening, you can rock out with Tad and the whole flock at Handley’s Sheep Farm and create your very own Sure Sheep Puppet! In this exciting hands-on workshop based on John Kennedy’s puppet film, The Sure Sheep, participants will experience how puppet films are made by designing, building, and puppeteering their Sure Sheep puppet on film.
