The last track on our album, Why, has just been used as a soundtrack to the Nottingham Forest season ticket advert. Have a look here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YsOKDjmITuA

We're looking for a new guitarist/vocalist people, someone who has the right style to fit our sound - nothing too metal, nothing too limp-wristed. Needs to be based in Nottingham or nearby.

You can hear the stuff on here, our new songs are in a similar vein, maybe a bit more angular/less classic rock, still lots of effects and strong melodies.

Great time for a new person to join up - new material being written, a chance to input your ideas and join an established band with press etc.

Drop us a message on here if you're interested. :)

Well, according to Mr Moffatt of Rock Sound and various other publications/websites, Comfort in Fear is one of the top 10 albums of the year. Who are we to disagree?

Current mood:  contemplative

Just an update for anyone who scans this page regulaly and thinks its gone quiet.

We've done 25 dates since Feb 2007, released Comfort in Fear, had some airplay on BBC6 (Lamacq/Tom Robinson) and of course our friend Groovy Jim at Shoegazer Radio. Had quite a few (mainly good) reviews for the album and of course the odd live gig made the press as well. We've supported some great bands (give or take the odd primadonna accusing us of misplacing his box of singles-tsk!), fried 2 Marshall heads, and last but not least the band bus has a small plant growing next to the handbrake.

We've met some nice people and had lots of Myspace messages from people who seem to like what we do (quite a lot of them from the US/Europe and further afeild). Our thanks to you all.

At the moment we are taking a short break to recharge the batteries then we will commence work on new material, there will be no more gigs now til Jan/Feb 2009. We are desperate to play new material. We do have quite a few new pieces of music and we want to take our time. At the moment there isn't a clear picture on how this is shaping up, but the feeling within the band is that we want the music to have more "Space" and feel less layered.

It will still have the HoS spirit, but at the same time we hope to develop the sound and enhance it. While still making sounds that are an escape for all of us from the everyday mundane world.

Anyway Peace/Out

Jez x

Somehow we missed this before, but here it is: our Bull & Gate gig from a couple of months ago reviewed in The Fly:

Not a bad one, thanks to Mr Moffatt, who we've not met but will definitely buy a beer when we do!

Hey everyone, our album Comfort in Fear is now available to buy (CD or download) from Northern Star records: http://www.northernstarrecords.co.uk/productDetails.cfm?ProductID=377

UK-based, Northern Star means you can buy MP3s of the album or individual tracks without having to use the evil iTunes. :)

They're also jolly decent chaps and creators of the Psychedelica compilations, on which of course we featured. Keep an eye out for Volume 3!
