Friends, as you may or may not know, my radio show on WPRB will soon be ending (I'm taking a break for the fall...be back next summer). Thus, my passion for spinning records for the masses must be fueled. I'm looking for a regular or not so regular (paying) DJ gig. Clubs, parties, bonfires in the woods, knitting circles...I'm interested. Please let me know. Thank you.

- Though the radio show is centered more on the Hip-Hop, Reggae, Soul tip, when I play out I tend to play more dance oriented stuff (80's punk-funk, electro, roller-skating jams and contemporary stuff). Playlists are available.

From a letter in today's City Paper:

"Let me offer one small story about (Gerald Ford) to demonstrate his value as a president and a human being. In 1975, Ford and Secretary of State Henry Kissinger spoke with Indonesian ruler [Gen. Haji Mohammad] Suharto about Suharto's plan to invade East Timor. Damningly, Ford told Suharto, "We understand and will not press you on the issue." The issue, of course, is a war and occupation which may have killed 200,000 people. Because Ford followed Nixon, he has been given a free pass. Fine. But it will be a crime of American history if it excuses the smear of shit that the man had for a soul".

--Matthew Sullivan

I would also just like to point out that Gerald Ford was President of the United States for two and a half years while James Brown was the Godfather of Soul for more than four and a half decades.  Gerald Ford meet Millard Fillmore.
