Award-Winning HipHopFriends, Inc. Brand Joins OGPR - PEEP THE EPK

http://www.hiphopfriends.com/artistspage.html

HIPHOPFRIENDS EPK LINK [CLICK HERE].

Whilst we have certainly enjoyed each and every client we have repped over the years, it is the independent artists that have been the primary bread and butter for OGPR. We love the spirit of the independent artist and thrive on the creativity it takes to help them flourish. In this failing economy and a music industry rife with uncertainty, it is only those with the indomitable spirit to forge new paths towards success that will stand the test of time. HipHopFriends, Inc. embodies that spirit and OGPR is proud to welcome them aboard as our latest client.

Comprised of CEO's/artists/tour bookers/promoters and internet radio station owners and operators, Feygens "ChuckieBigBux" and Erick "DirtE Dread" Saint-Joy aka The E&J Brothaz; who are actually siblings, HipHopFriends, Inc. has been quietly building a brand that is getting them recognition far afield of their native town of Elmont, in New York's Long Island borough. Their current single, Private Party, is in fact impacting cities in every region - speading slowly from coast to coast - with close to 1,000 spins currently and counting. Produced by GiftRAP, a Santa Barbara , CA up-and-comer, Private Party infuses the best of East Coast lyricism with West Coast swagger and a dash of Southern spice.

Taking advantage of the love the Southern market has shown them, the two paired up with franchise DJ's Bigga Rankin and DJ Smallz last year, dropping successful mix albums with each, both released on USB drives and downloaded digitally to over 20,000 HipHopFriends™ fans across the country. Bigga Rankin was in fact so impressed with the duo's hustle that he bestowed upon them his coveted Ghetto Diamond Award in the "Go Gettaz" category - the only New Yorkers to date to have received such an honor.

Although HipHopFriends™ and The E&J Brothaz began releasing music in 2004 and have several award-winning videos to their credit (The Golden Aurora Award, The Communicators Award & The Platinum AVA), their music hustle is not the only thing receiving accolades. HipHopFriendsOnline, the duo's web radio station, recently won an SEA (Southern Entertainment Award) for "Best Internet/Satellite Radio", proving once again that the HipHopFriends, Inc. brand defies geographical boundaries.

Self-titled promo tours in cities as diverse as their radio impact markets have been sponsored by the likes of IAR ( Institute of Audio Research ), Sam Ash Music, Royal Blunts, Azzuré Denim and Lyrical Legends™, ensuring HipHopFriends™ an ever-widening, nationwide network of fans.

With another round of stations set to add Private Party in the coming weeks, a music video in the works and their own IAR-sponsored event (DIY: Starting Your Own Record Label) aimed at schooling others in the indie music game, coming up in NYC in October; their third such event, HipHopFriends™are the paradigm for today's independent label. While others whine about how difficult it is these days to get fans to remain loyal to a brand, HipHopFriends™ are not only doing it but happily showing others how it's done. Stay tuned! Pay attention! And you might just learn something.

Private Party is currently available on iTunes.

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE:
DATE: December 4, 2008
Among Friends Records, Among Friends Productions and HipHopFriends Win (1) Platinum AVA Award and (2) Gold AVA Award for music videos.

ABOUT THE AVA AWARDS:
--------------------------------------
The advent of moving pictures over a century ago spawned a continually changing world for communicating with visual technology. Methods of capturing, recording, processing, storing, and transmitting a sequence of still images has evolved into a technological and creative art form. Technology continues to provide us with new ways to use moving pictures but while the messenger medium evolves, the object is still the same...using a sequence of moving pictures to entertain and inform.

The international Ava Awards recognizes outstanding work by creative professionals involved in the concept, writing, direction, shooting, and editing of audio-visual materials and programs. Entries include film, analog and digital productions viewed in a wide variety of mediums- from movie screens to televisions to computers. Entrants include video and film production companies, web developers, advertising agencies, PR firms, corporate and government communication departments, producers, directors, editors, and shooters.

Ava Awards is administered and judged by the Association of Marketing and Communication Professionals (AMCP). The international organization consists of several thousand production, marketing, communication, advertising, public relations, and free-lance professionals. The Association administers recognition programs; provides judges and rewards outstanding achievement and service to the profession.

AMCP also oversees the MarCom Awards and the Hermes Creative Awards, two of the largest competitions for marketing and communication professionals in the world. The competitions are so well thought of in the industry that national public relations organizations, local ad clubs, and local business communicator chapters are entrants. Ava Awards was started in response to AMCP members wanting a competition specifically for the audio-visual industry.

About The AVA Statuette:
--------------------------------------
The Ava Award is designed to pay tribute to the magnificent history of the audio-visual industry. The elegant woman holding the film reel aloft is a symbolic representation of our evolving craft. The statuette is created by the Entenmann-Rovin Company of Los Angeles, the same craftsmen that produce the Golden Globes Awards. It stands 13 inches tall on a piano-finished, hardwood base and is personalized with the winner's name and entry information.

Winning an Ava Award gives recognition to the creative talent, firms, departments and/or clients that collaborate on outstanding marketing and communication projects. Winners are recognized on the Ava website.

About MarCOM Awards
http://www.marcomawards.com

-----------------------------------
The MarCOM Awards is an international creative competition that recognizes outstanding achievements by marketing and communication professionals. Entries come from corporate marketing and communication departments, advertising agencies, PR Firms, design shops, production companies and freelancers. The competition has grown to perhaps the largest of it kind in the world. A look at the winners shows a range in size from individual's communicators to media conglomerates and Fortune 500 companies. The competition is so well respected in the industry that nation public relations organizations, local ad clubs, and local business communicator chapter are entrants.

MarCOM Awards is administered and judge by the Association of Marketing and Communication Professionals. The international organization consists of several thousand creative professionals. The Association oversees awards and recognition programs, provides judges and sets standards for excellence.

As part of its mission, AMCP fosters and supports the effort of creative professionals who contribute their unique talents to public service and charitable organizations. Over the past two years, AMCP's Advisory Board has allocated over $40,000 in grants to support the effort of its members. That money was used for marketing materials for homeless shelters, orphanages, day camps, community theaters and art centers; for programs for the elderly and disable; childcare; and educational endeavors for the underprivileged.

Judges are industry professionals who look for companies and individuals whose talents exceed a high standard of excellence and whose works serve as a benchmark for the industry. There were over 5,000 entries from throughout the United States and several foreign countries in the MarCOM Awards 2008 competition.

The Gold Award is presented to those entries judged to exceed the high standard of the industry norm. Approximately 18% were Gold Award winners.

Being a Gold Award Winner is a tremendous achievement that is symbolized by the intricately detailed MarCOM statuettes. The statuettes were designed and individually cast by the same artisans that craft the Oscars, Emmy and MTV Awards. Each highly polished three dimensional metal award weighs about three pounds and stand 13 inches all on a piano finished hardwood base. HipHopfriends, ViperGFX, WRNR received a Gold MarCOM Award for "Promotional Materials". HipHopFriends, ViperGFX and B-Locks also received a Gold Award for "Design/Illustration/Graphic Design" of B-Locks Single CD Cover.

Hurricane Hanna or even this past Columbus Day weekend's rain storm could stop the CORE DJ Retreat IX. Thanks to all the CORE DJ's, their professional staff, beautiful CORE Models and Sponsors like TAG Records, the event would go on without a hitch. Celebrating their 5th year anniversary in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, the CORE DJ's are the most influential DJ coalition in the music industry today.

Upon arriving early Friday afternoon to a slight down pour and grey skies, the retreat seem to have a slow start. By later that evening, more DJ's, Models and artist from all over the country started to unpack and fill the Hilton Resort lobby. By night fall the first club event looked like it would be a wash out. But how WRONG was everybody? Club Myst played the venue as it began to fill up with late comers. Independent artists and Carolinas own P-Wonda entertained while Tony Neal, the CORE DJ's Founder shouted out "We're just getting started". Then and there, it felt like it was going to be another retreat that goes down in history.

The next day began with a Bad Boy Records affair @ Planet Hollywood. At the luncheon was a delightful buffet, shots of Ciroc Vodka and Bad Boy handmade cigars. Bad Boy/ Block Ent recording artists Gorilla Zoe entertained with new track from his upcoming album "Don't Feed the Animals". The standout track was his new single featuring Lil Wayne entitled "Lost". After that gathering, there was a demonstrative panel by Kueit. There, DJ's learned how to use the new mixing software made by Kueit to use for radio drops and programming. On the industry panel, which included Wendy Day (Rap Coalition), DJ Rip (CORE Communication), DJ Impact (Co-Chair CORE) and Lil D (Static Major Manager) each gave attendees their informative insight on the industry today. Topics range from production, radio programming, relationships and marketing.

As the day events winded down, everyone prepared for that evenings nightlife. Upon arriving to the venue on the itinerary, there seem to be a misunderstanding with the promoters and CORE officers. The problem was quickly resolved as the CORE pulled the impossible. They made an announcement and moved the whole party next door without a blip. All CORE DJ's followed in sync and took the crowd with them. It was too bad for those other venue owners, for they lost out on a major bar tab as Jim Jones came thru and sang his catalog of hits and literately ran thru bottle after bottle for his hit single "Pop Champagne". "WHOA!",..."We Pop Champagne". That was a fun night!

Sunday morning came with the first sight of sunlight and clear skies. The scheduled Atlantic Records Pool Party was on everybody's priority list to check out the super sexy CORE Models in their bikinis. Food and drink were served as DJ's played new music from Atlantic Recording artists Maino and B.O.B. Later that afternoon Asylum Records held a suit gathering where Freeway performed and Sean P (Formerly of Young Bloods) performed his new anthem "I'm A Hood Star". The crowd quickly went into frenzy from other tracks featured by the 10 year veteran.

The retreat came to an end with a red carpet award affair. The JMJ award, named after fallen DJ, DJ Jam Master Jay, was given to recipients who represent the North and South Carolinas music scene. Honorees included several groundbreaking Carolina DJ's, promoters and artists. These included Carolina's mix tape king DJ Chuck T, most known record breaker DJ IKE G Da and legendary record pool directors Paul Davis of South Carolina Record Pool. Highly charged performances were given by B.O.B, Jemraine Dupri, Q Da Kid, Big Kuntry King and Myko. Tony Neal (CORE Founder) also received from the South Carolina House of Representative an award of appreciation for service in the community and bringing the retreat to the city.

In conclusion, the CORE retreat IX will go down in history, for the Carolinas are not to just pass through states on the I95. They're strength is to be acknowledged in the music industry as major Power Players. Record Labels must take a second look at the "Middle East" to continue to break their hits in that region. The Carolinas must not be over looked. The CORE DJ's have already plans in effect for the next location to be held in March or April. Here a hint; it's in the HOT desert. So get your money to BURN, and your HOT records artists, because the HOTTEST CORE DJ's from the west coast will be there to represent and break HOT-ASS records.
