We are very proud to announce that Tame Impala (H.I.T.S. 003) has been nominated for Best Art Vinyl 2008. The cover artwork was painted by Mr. Kevin Parker himself and the design was done by our very good friend Jonothan Zawada, who came to our rescue after our original design was rejected by the manufacturers!
There are 50 realeases nominated and voting begins today. You can check out the nominations and vote (for Tame Impala of course) at Best Art Vinyl 2008 See more of Jonathan's incredible work at zawada.com.au

Enormous thank you to everyone who helped make this release possible and to everyone who has supported it.

OK, so we've finally got our acts together and after months of no activity on the Hole in the Sky website, we have now launched our new site, which includes our new H.I.T.S. blog.

We have called upon our families and friends to help keep this blog constantly updated with all that is good; musically and otherwise. There will be downloads of tracks and mixes from our artists and good friends, as well as updates on our latest news, gigs, and special events.

Thanks, we hope you enjoy it.

Hi, we've had a few people in the US of A asking us where they can pick up a copy of Canyons 'the Lovemore EP'. Could anyone that's had trouble getting it (or any stores that have had trouble ordering it) get in touch with us and we'll try our best to make the 12" available to you. Just let us know the name of your local record store and we'll make sure they get some in... Thanks, H.I.T.S.

Check the latest issue of the Fader (51) for a nice little write up on H.I.T.S.

'Label to watch in 2008'

Monday, February 04, 2008
Check out the lovely review the good people at TTL gave HITS 001:

Hole In The Sky is a brand new label out of Australia, and their first release (this one) has already been turning heads 'round these parts. (The infection started within Pro Squad when H.I.T.S. slipped an early promo our way; then last month The FADER tagged them as a "label to watch" in 2008.) Fred Cherry's "Busride To The Zoo(1)" is a psychedelic disco groover with percussion galore, handclaps, whistles and a sharp, punky bassline. I didn't get it at first, but Snack & C'mish know a joint when they hear one, and after a couple the awesomeness revealed itself. My favorite downtempo jam of late has been The Templates' "Daylight(2)," a true late night smoker if ever there was one. Two totally different tracks with opposing styles that complement each other perfectly - in other words, very good stuff. What's next, H.I.T.S.? Limited to 500. Recommended.
