More nonfiction for you. This one doesn't have the distraught vocals, just distraught sentiment. A straight-ahead lovelorn country song except the ants thing.

Excerpted from the April/May issue of Bust magazine, in the article "PAGING DR. CONCHORD: New Zealand's Most Crushworthy Exports, Flight of the Conchords, Answer Our Readers' Burning Questions About Love, Romance, and Wooing a Kiwi" (pp. 55-56) - they printed my letter!! OMG, Jemaine read my letter in his own voice; I am faint, I am faint.
This is in regard to my 2008 song "Be In a Country Band With Me" which is featured in various forms all over the internet (like http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sZFHhP4Qz-M ).
OK: here's my historic long distance print relationship with FOTC, courtesy of awesome Bust magazine:
Jemaine [reading letter out loud]: "Dear Conchords, Please help. I love a dude in addition to you guys. My love is tragically unrequited. I would like to use the power of music to charm him. What stuff should I include in the song in order to make the dude fall in love with me? I already made a song that compliments him on his Willie Nelson impression, and that didn't work. Thank you. Honey."
Well, I'm surprised that didn't work, Honey.
Bret: Try it again; try it in a different chord.
J: I would find somebody else who does a good Willie Nelson impression, and try the song on him.
B: Or go to a Willie Nelson impersonator's gig. See if there are any guys you like there.

And I think it's free.
Oh, sorry I took down the Feb 15th song... it's still at www.honeyvizer.com, but I thought I should put "Hello Audience" back up again (the one from 9/03). That Feb 15th song is still kinda raw. Not in a good way... just in an underdeveloped way, you know? Or not. Whutevar...
New Zone is at 164 W. Broadway in glamourous downtown Eugene. I'm only playing 20 minutes so SHUT UP AND PAY ATTENTION. Thank you. :)

Hear that lonesome whip-poor-will? He sounds too blue to fly. The midnight train is whining low... I'm so lonesome I could cry. Did you ever see a night so lone, When time goes crawling by? The moon just went behind a cloud To hide its face and cry. Did you ever see a robin weep When leaves begin to die? That means he's lost the will to live. I'm so lonesome I could cry. The silence of a falling star Lights up a purple sky, And as I wonder where you are, I'm so lonesome I could cry. Hank Williams (lyrics slightly garbled by Honey) Here's video from Marc Time's Sunday Morning Hangover show on KWVA 1/11/09.
