I closed the contest ealry because I havent had any input or suggestions in the last 3 days. I see no reason to wait three weeks. That would be a lonnnnnnnnnnngggggg three weeks. I had some great suggestion and I want to thank all of you who played. I had to pick a winner and I do so last night without releizing I did so. I started painting my roses.

It has knocked me down a few notches. Modest and Humble are quickly becoming my middle names. I think I have been to full of myself when it comes to my painting. I see other ppl stuff (not all mind you) and think, "Im better than that!" I can be famous! Thats the goal of most artist. To have their work known US or even World, wide. I thought when I started this contest, ppl would be jumping at the chance to have one of my paintings! A little depressing but defintantly an eye openner. Im not as good as I thought. Its ok. I think every artist needs to be knocked off thier high horse. Well, I am picking myself up and dusting myself off now!

Hmmmmm....I need this contest more now then before and for a totally different reason! I need to see what ppl find attrative in art. What will sell? What grabs the attention of someone looking? Maybe ppl dont like the water scenes and tropical scenes.........Maybe its time to break away from all that!

This is most defintantly an eye openner!

Yesterday, I posted that I was going to paint something new. Well, the reason behind it is because I think Ive hit a sort of painters block. I have this one painting Im working on for my Mammoth Man, Highlander but I cant seem to finish it. Im not happy with anything Im doing to it. Because of that, I seem to be stuck. I think if I paint something else, Ill be open to be able to complete my work and move on.

So,

I am wanting to paint something that isnt me...meaning not the same ol' same ol'. But I ranked my brain last night trying to firgure out what to paint. I couldnt for the life of me think of anything! I have all these pics in my head but nothing seemed to pull me to paint it.

So, What Im going to do, is run a contest for three weeks. That way anyone on my list can get in on the action. The winner gets to pick one painting out of my list as they come up. Meaning, nothing I have yet is up for grabs but if you see something in the future, lets say within a year of the ending of this, its yours.And signed by me. Sound good??

Ok heres the rules...

1) It cant be something I already do. Meaning, seascapes or tropicals.

2) You can  post as many suggestions as you would like.

3) It can be anything under the sun. Leaves it wide open, huh?

4) And you can send this out to anyone on myspace or anyone on the net. The more suggestion I get, the more likely something will click.

5) You can send a photo to me. But it has to have been taken by your own hand or someone that has given their permission for me to paint it with no strings attacted. The whole copy right thing, you know.

6) If I choose your idea and paint it, the painting is mine to do with as I see fit.

7) Onlty serious suggestions will be approved for posting.

8) Read the suggestion already posted so I dont get the same ones over and over again. If there is already a white tiger in the snow, then dont suggest it. I will delete it. First come first serve type of thing. :D

9) All suggestion must be posted in this blog unless its a photo. If you want to  get in on this and dont want to be added to my friends list, never fear! Just send my a message via either email or whatever site you saw this contest on. Ill then in turn post it in here.

10) All photos are to be sent to my inbox on myspace, only.

11) I reserve the right to add rules as we go along. Im sure Im over looking something!

Ok I think thats it.

Its now open....

Today I went and bought some canvas to try for the first time. Everything was going good.................................. until the paint tray I was holding, fall right out of my hand! I had red ,orange and dark red all over light yellow. I was not a happy Denee!!!


Tonight I think I will try something totally not me. Something I have never tried before. Not sure what it will be! Or if it will even be nice! HAHA! But I will post it for you regardless.

I am trying to do a million things at once. I promise I will get this together!!! I have a painting to finish for a friend and then things will began to roll. Thanks again to all my friends and family!!!


PS if you got a invite from me, I wanted you here first! You guys are great support!!!! Oh and two of you didnt get an invite from me but showed up anyways! I LOVE YOU FOR THAT! At least I know someone out there love me! LOL     NO haters allowed! HAHAHA
