Please create a blog about this Bookmark fund raiser for the "Kaelan Fund" and link to this blog.........

Mark My Wordsby Kathy Cummings
ANDLady "Cheryl" Death
Have teamed to sponsor the "Christmas in July CPCCC - Mark My Words" Kealan Fund - Bookmark Fund Raiser
Kaelan is the 15 year old son of our Pal ~♥~Venisia~♥~. Kaelan suffers from Goldenhar Syndrome, Slight Spinal Bifida, and a Terminal Cardiac Condition. His medical and travel expences reach way beyond the comprehendable and Venisa is reaching out to her friends and the public for donations to defray these costs. Without our help Kealan will not receive the necessary medical attention he so desperatily needs. Kathy Cummings of "Mark My Words" and Lady "Cheryl" Death of "Cheryl's Pals Creative Collab Corral", here on MySpace, have teamed up to offer a fund raiser to help encourage the MySpace community to give to this fund.
Kathy makes bookmarks PIC'n Poem Style. Cheryl and Kathy are proposing is that you create a short poem suitable for a bookmark and place an order with Kathy for your design. You do not have to make the PIC'n Poem if you don't know how, or if you are not sure of the size background you need. Kathy has several background layouts you can choose from or you can request she use one that you send her.
The minimum order would be 5 bookmarks for $15 dollars. For each order of 5 bookmarks received $5 will go to the Kealan Fund.
Lady Cheryl ordered Bookmarks from Kathy last year when the CPCCC held the "Daydreamer Profile Art" Poetry Contest and she testifies that the quality of these bookmarks is equal to ones you can buy at Barns & Noble Book Stores. She priced them there and they mainly range from $5 to $12 apiece - so having Kathy make them with your poem inserted at $3 each is a real steal!!! The Minimum order is necessary because 5 bookmarks fit on a sheet and there will be no waste in producing them.
Lady Cheryl is leading the way with the first order of 40 bookmarks for the upcoming CPCCC Oracle Profile Art Poetry Contest, which will be held in August 2009. Here is her design:
As you can see you can really design any style you would like, not just bookmarks with poems in them. So be creative !!!! Some suggestions are: Make them for your kids/grandkids using their art as a backdrop and maybe even their poem. Make a design for an upcoming holiday (Christmas stocking stuffers come to mind) or special occasion like a baby shower or weding guest trinkets. If you are an artist order some with your art imbedded, author of a book - well what more can I say...... design your own bookmark with your book cover LOL If you give books for gifts what a wonderful addition to that gift than a bookmark designed sepcial by you.........
To place your order, message Kathy at "Mark My Words" on MySpace. Title your message "Kaelan Fund" Bookmark Order and include the text you desire in your bookmark, along with the PIC you would like Kathy to use and she will design it or send her your design. There are several back ground designs to choose from in the Mark My Words PIC folder and other examples of bookmarks that kathy has made there as well.
MySpace does not allow non-friends to send graphics with html.
So if you are not a friend of "Mark My Words" you can send your order to Lady Cheryl at any of her profile pages and she will forward the order, with a copy to you, to Kathy while she is gone.
Kathy is on Vacation so Orders will be filled after the 10th of July, and once the payment for the order is received.
Send order payments to: Mark My Words P.O. Box 372045 Satellite Beach, FL 32937 Please include your profile name, your real name, and home address when you send your payment in for your order.

Hello Everyon and welcome once again to another Simple Sunday here at The CPCCC with Cheryl and her Pals. I am A-Rhodi, your host for today. I hope you look forward to some poetic inspiration from this weeks' featured guest artist and co-host.
Let's send a warm welcome to Ric O'Shay, our artist who is gracious enought to let us use his paintingfor our inspiration and who has agreed to spend some of his day with us.
Please click on his avatar below to visit Rics profile and view more of his art. Send him a friend request and message letting him hin know how much we appreciate him sharing with us today!
Ric O'Shay
Here are some words from Ric about him and his art:
"i write but i'm not an author i paint but i'm not an artist i don't often analyze or interpret what i write or paint i much prefer to simply give them life and let them live
when i finish a painting, poem or story (or sometimes during the process) i'm always thinking about the next thing. as i result, i never learn from my mistakes - i just create variations of them."
ric
Ric has a small blurb about himself that tell a bit more:
About me: i was born, at a very young age, in Cleveland, Ohio 1958. i moved to Florida in 1987... i joined myspace 7-11-08.... i took a cat nap after work today.... i woke up an hour later with fur in my mouth... most of the images in my blogs are stolen merchandise but all of the written junk is original and copyrighted 2008/2009 by me: ric o'shay enterprises ~ look for my latest work soon to be published: ~ sad but true volume II ~ in bookstores and dumpsters near you... 5 stars (and a comet) ***** !
Here is a poem Ric wrote for today's art:
~ october moon ~
the leaves long gone that late october they took her with them in cool dry breezes summer long gone long days now shortened october moon shines sadly alone
Todays' Art: By Ric O'Shay
"October Moon"

Let's beging the creative fun today and let the art inspire our poetry. I hope you find this art intriguing and enjoyable.
Please leave comments and "Kudos" for our guest co-host Ric O'Shay and for our fellow Poet Pals!
I look forward to reading all your poems today! All my regards,
A-Rhodi.

Hello Cheryl's Pals!!!! Wow I've missed a few weeks. I pondered posting this on my personal profile now that we have a Thursday venue going on here. But I figured since I hardly get any reads over there it would be best to post this here.
So How am I doing on my weight loss plan??? I am happy to say that I am now down -36 lbs and still trudging along. It has been difficult at times because I'm a stress eater at times - yesterday was sooooo aweful that I so wanted a cheese burger!!!!! But I was a good girl and had the lunch I brought in.
As you know by now, we have a few things going on here and I really need your support on Pimping er' getting the word out and/or participating.
The Kaelan Fund bookmark fund raiser is a project I would like to see you all get involved in. If you do not have the resources to buy the boookmarks, you can always design them and then PIMP your design to friends and family and be the middleman for making the order from "Mark My Words" (Kathy Cummings) remember that $5 from every order of 5 bookmarks goes to the Kaelan fund.
The "Cheryl's Pals for Kids"childrens Art contest is going very slow!!!! Please do not wait till the last minute (20 July) to get your entries in. Have mercy on me - it will take me time to organize the entries in the back-up page PIC folders for voting to begin. Entries are to be sent to the CPCCC Back-up page. To get to the back-up page all you gotta do is click on the banner in the blogheader here.
We are doing our best to prep for the upcoming Oracel Profile Art Poetry Contes to be conducted in August. Scotorum (aka Bob) has generiously allowed me to use the Fling as a launching blog to get everyone familure with the poetry formats for the contest. So PLEASE support the fling over the next several weeks and practic poetry formats with Bob!!!

Oracle's CPCCC Profile Art Poetry Contest begins Aug. 12, with six formats in which to to write entries. Cheryl suggested we could use the Fling to give you the chance to become more familiar with those formats by including them in challenges until the contest entery period closes 16 Aug 2009.
More information about the upcoming contest will be posted in a blog on the CPCCC Back-up Page a week or so prior to the entry period.
I am going to challenge you to do one a week, in alphabetical order, starting this week with the Astonishing Acrostic. An Acrostic is a poem in which the first letters of each line spell out a word or phrase related to the subject of the poem, such as the title. For instance, CPCCC Pal Elly did this one just a few days ago for the CPCCC Simple Sunday Picture Challenge: Swampland
S outhern belles sit, fans in handW arm summer play, too hot this dayA dragonfly lands near crisp white sheetM atte canvas bleached by the sunP aradise of watercolor flowers surroundL ime green margaritas, sips cool going downA lligator eyes watch closely, intenseN ear fallen pond logs across meadowD eep south where ladies and frogs tarry
by Elly
Easy, huh? The lines need not rhyme nor have the same syllable count, as long as the first letter of each succeeding line helps spell out the appropriate word down the left side.
Oh one more thing. The challenge includes the adjective to the title of the Acrostic in the contest, which is Astonishing. So write not just any old Acrostic, but an Astonishing Acrostic! It could be about anything which astonishes you, or it could try to astonish the reader in some way. It could even be the word used for the Acrostic itself! like this:
A n Acrostic S eldom disappoints. T here is O nly one N ote of difficulty I n writing one, usually: S pelling the key word correctly! ...Oh, H eck! I could N ot find an appropriate word to G o with the H! Well there's another difficulty. That makes two.
© 2009 RGD
So let's get to it! It's Friday, and we're getting down and astonishing with Acrostics! As usual, it is not absolutely necessary that any poem you post is an Actual Acrostic. The important thing is to have some Friggin' Fabulous Friday Fling Fun, Followed by a Fantabulous Weeky Freakend! -Bob, aka Scotorum
PS: Be sure to be as uncaustic as you can commenting on your fellow Pals' Acrostics. Here are the winners of last week's Fling's Fickle Finger of Fate Awards. I gave out two because I thought Colleen B.'s Pic-n-Poem composition was outstanding, and relative newcomer Sonnenblume aka Sunflower's sonnet had the biggest impact because she associated July 4th with her wedding anniversary. Congratulations to the winners!

Hi Guys - Still Having Some Crazy Computer Issues. I Hope This Posts Correctly. I Will Try To Fix It Up ASAP. For Now, Please Pretend Everything Is Perfect??? :) Almost Every Life Has Been Effected By Addiction and The Effects Of Addiction Are The Same No Matter Its Source May Be. I have my own addiction - Codependence: From Wikipedia: Codependence is a pattern of detrimental, behavioral interactions within a dysfunctional relationship which is regarded by some as a form of disease. The codependent person is the person, who in the beginning of the loved one's drug career, in good faith, tries to help them stop by trying to control the drug addict and the drug. The codependent's life gets more and more out of hand and at the end, they might become as sick as the drug addict. In general, the codependent is understood to be a person who perpetuates the alcohol or drug dependence of someone close to them in a way that hampers recovery. This can be done through direct control over the dependent, by making excuses for their dysfunctional behavior or relieving them of the consequences of the dependence. This is called enabling, which can have negative social and health consequences for both parties. Codependency advocates claim that a codependent may feel shame about, or try to change, their most private thoughts and feelings if they conflict with those of another person.
Symptoms of codependence may include controlling behavior, distrucst, perfectionism, problems with intimacy, hypervigilance, avoidance of feelings, excessive caretaking, or physical illness related to stress. Codependence is often accompanied by clinical depression as the codependent person succumbs to feelings of frustration or sadness over their inability to improve the situation. tendency to place the needs and wants of others first and to the exclusion of acknowledging one's own continued investment of self-esteem in the ability to control both oneself and others anxiety and boundary distortions relating to intimacy and separation difficulty expressing feelings excessive worry how others may respond to one's feelings undue fear of being hurt and/or rejected by others self-esteem dependent on approval by others tendency to ignore own values and attempt to adhere to the values of others
"I Don't Feel Anything"Denying True Feelings Codependents often are confused about how they really feel. Their only concern is how others feel about them. While codependents may seem happy on the outside, their true feelings may be eating away at them inside. How has addiction effected your life? Can you relate to my words (The first comment below)? If so, do you relate more as the abuser or as the caretaker? Please post any questions, comments or thoughts that you may have. Also, post poems on similar topics (which I suppose goes without saying....). Thank you - sorry for the delay.

Welcome Poets and Pals. I hope you all had a fantastic Holiday filled with sparkle, laughter, and fun. It is Monday again... time to let the magic begin with a bit of reflection into the power of chemistry, charisma, and choice. Let's discuss the....
~ ~ ~ LAWS OF ATTRACTION ~ ~ ~
Ever take note when watching a movie, reading your favorite book, or keeping up with life that things seem to fall into extremes... Opposites on the balancing board... Two sides to the coin... For examples:
  Leader vs a Follower
  Dark vs Fair
  Control vs Impulsive and Brash
Innocence and Purity vs Passion and Desire
Safe and Secure vs Dangerous and Mysterious
Bringing us to probably the basic question of all....
Good vs Bad ************************************************** Why do we tend to bend in one direction or the other? Does it stem from our mood, a disposition of our character, the influances in our lives, or just a basic fundamental law of what makes us tick??? Today I would like us to explore attraction. What attracts you? Is it a certain trait, a type of personality that you find irresistable? What makes one characteristic more attractive than another and in which direction do you lean? Is there a gray area in between where the opposites meld into the fulfillment of a whole.
Thank you all for stopping in and sharing part of your day with us. Please remember to support each other with comments and Kudos. I look forward to this journey with you. Let's get busy and make some Magic. :)
Blessings everyone ~ LadySeda ~

Today is the official holiday for the Fourth of July weekend. The Fourth of July is a time for patriotic flag-waving, parades and fireworks. Wednesday's Meet & Greet blog challenge already dealt with the patriotic theme, including the literal version of fireworks. But how about other sorts of fireworks: doing exciting holiday things, enjoying the summer, or anything you associate with this particular time, including any significant things that happened to you that you remember when you think of the 4th of July.
We've often challenged you to try new formats, and since the topic is one which may involve events and emotions which may require some description and/or explanation, this might be a good time to do that using one of the more substantial poetry formats, the sonnet. The sonnet is particularly good for expressing emotions. ShadowPoetry.com says
A Sonnet is a poem consisting of 14 lines with a particular rhyming scheme:
Examples of a rhyming scheme:
#1) abab cdcd efef gg #2) abba cddc effe gg #3) abba abba cdcd cd
A Shakespearean (English) sonnet has three quatrains and a couplet, and rhymes abab cdcd efef gg.
An Italian sonnet is composed of an octave, rhyming abbaabba, and a sestet, rhyming cdecde or cdcdcd, or in some variant pattern, but with no closing couplet.
Usually, English and Italian Sonnets have 10 syllables per line, but Italian Sonnets can also have 11 syllables per line.
French sonnets follow in this same pattern, but normally have 12 syllables per line.
Italian Sonnet
I set my soul free down the dreamers lane Thoughts of joyful times bring my mind aflight Moons of memories drip so lovely light Stars above hum a tune to ease my pain I sail a sea where kings of past did reign Thoughts buried deep burn in the stars so bright To see the legends only I may sight A life of imagery that pumps in vein
As life is written in a hidden page I soar among all the things that will fly I'm always seeking my soul's so lost core Sooths all of my hate and my painful rage Sorrow from all my blood dripped tears I cry Dreams are the peace felt in life times before

So let's celebrate this Fourth of July by writing some sort of a sonnet! If you don't want to bother with or have a hard time with syllable counting or rhyming, just wing it in your own inimitable way.
But no matter what, have some Friggin' Fabulous Friday Fling Fun, Followed Forthwith by Freedom Fourth Freakend Fireworks! -Bob aka Scotorum
