The state of Florida has issued an Amber Alert for a missing four-year-old girl who disappeared from her bedroom at some point last night. Police say that Haleigh was staying with her father (who was at work at the time of her disappearance) and his girlfriend. There was no sign of forced entry into the house but they are not sure if all the doors and windows were locked at the time.

Updated - The memorial service for Caylee Anthony has just ended. More of the update at the bottom of the post.

It's been quite awhile since I posted anything about the Caylee Anthony case. It's one of those things that has been discussed, dissected and bisected and beaten like a dead horse. I still keep up with it but there are plenty of discussions going on around the net and news coming from sites far better equipped for it than here.

Cindy Anthony hasn't made any kind of public comments since her granddaughter's body was found back in December and she wrote this eulogy which was published in the Orlando Sentinel yesterday. They are holding a public memorial for Caylee tomorrow.

• Where is Caylee Anthony?

I left work around a quarter till two this afternoon to head for the grocery store and pick up a few vittles for this fine Fourth of July. A nice thick tenderloin, red onion to grill up in garlic butter and a six pack of Corona. I love Sam Adams but it's just too fucking hot for it right now. The wife and girls are out of town again. They left the house around four this morning and headed to Panama City Beach with a couple of friends and their children. All total four adults, seven kids. Fuck that noise. I will miss the hell out of my family but I won't miss the other ones. I would be pulling my hair out after a couple of hours.

So here I sit listening to net radio, some '80s hair band station, and relaxing. Hopefully I won't have to go back in to work tonight. As long as all goes well. There is something like a 30% chance of rain tonight so hopefully it won't storm too bad, although I would love to have the rain. It might even rain out the fireworks. That would suck but it would lessen the chances of me having to go back in to work.

My hot neighbor came over a little while ago to borrow an adjustable wrench. It seems that they are moving and needed to unhook the washer and dryer. Damn, that sucks. She had broken up with her boyfriend, who seemed like a slacker, and had the house on the market but then decided to not sell and make a try of it. Apparently she is leasing it out to some dude. She said he 'talks alot' but seems alright otherwise. I know I saw some creepy old dude nosing around yesterday afternoon. I guess that would be him.

Just what I need. Some creepy old fucker living next door. Hell, he's probably a perfectly nice guy. Might even be a blogger (are they nice?) that will get offended. Just let the fucker mess with my girls and I'll be feeding him his fucking scrotum. I guess once I find out his name I'll have to get online and check the dude out. Damn I hate getting new neighbors...Just as long as this guy isn't some type of pedophile we'll be just fine.

I get bent out of shape and rant and rave about all sorts of stuff, but this is one story that almost made me cry. Perhaps it's because I have three children myself, one of whom is four years old herself.

Last Thursday three year old Maddie McCann disappeared, most like abducted, from her bed in an apartment in Portugal. She and her younger brother and sister as well as their parents were on vacation. Her parents do like most parents and check on their kids every twenty or thirty minutes.

When her mother checked on them at 10PM she discovered that the window was open and Maddie was missing. A witness claims to have seen a bald man and a woman walking quickly away from the area with a young blond girl. Portuguese Police are suggesting that it is possible that Maddie was abducted for a pedophile ring. Just the thought of it makes me want to cry or perhaps go shoot one of those stupid pedophiles.

After my previous post concerning Internet Radio and the fact that it is going to cost Internet broadcasters tons more money than over-the-air I sent my senators and congressman an email concerning it and got back canned email messages basically stating that it is an FCC problem and that there is no legislative action that they could take.

Well guess what, there IS legislative action. It is called H.R. 2060 The Internet Radio Equality Act. I just sent my congressman Phil Gingrey an email asking him to co-sponsor it and it bounced. I'll get over to his web site later this weekend and send him the link from there I suppose.

Anyway, I got this email from a list I am on:
