Finally, after a year of hard work, the first Russian Recording compilation is finished. The name of the series is called "We Just Call It Roulette"

RR has been making records for independant local and regional bands for 4 years now, and this CD series serves to promote the studio and the msic that gets recorded here. The CDs are a limited one-time only run of 500 numbered copies. The packaging for this first compilation was designed by Jarod Isenbarger and letter pressed and silk screened by Ryan Nole at Kangaroo Press. This is what it looks like:

The packing uses small magnets to fasten the front flap to the cover. They make a surprisingly gratifying "snap" when you close it up. It's awesome. The images above are from a mock up, the final version will be on lighter grey paper, and will be letter pressed rather than silk screened (i.e. more bad ass).

The track listing for the first volume is as follows:

1. Morrow: Jean
2. Lucky Pineapple: Un Sequelette Et Un Parapluie
3, 4, 5. The Coke Dares: Jesus Speed Freak, Bland Hands, No Pictures
6. Nate Jackson: Jacob's Hand
7. Gentleman Caller: You Should Know Better
8. Beltane: Skip The Overture
9. STATE: She Dreams of You
10. Wasteland D.C.: Age of Fear
11. Thousand Arrows: Iris
12. Abner Trio: The Spotlight
13. Push-Pull: Sandford Eubanks
14. American Werewolves: Little Red Riding Hood
15. Turn Pale: Fuseable Link
16. Racebannon: Sister Fucker

The first volume of the series will first be available on Saturday, August 18th at the Russian Recording WJCIR V.1 release show, held at the Bloomington Art Hospital. The show will feature the following bands:

The Coke Dares
Racebannon
Morrow
w/music spun by DJ LVX

The show will start at 9:00 pm.
Admission is $6 and each guest receives a free copy of the compilation.

The CDs will also be available after the 18th at Landlocked Music, TD's CDs and LPs, and Sweet Hickory in Bloomington, or directly from Russian Recording.
