I'm in a post production facility at this very moment, making copies of my new music video, which we just now finished. Most of you spoiler-hounds probably already know the name of it, but in deference to the people that want to be surprised, let's just say it's for the Chamillionaire parody.
For anybody that was "disappointed" with the fact that I'm doing a bunch of animated videos for my album... well, this new video should make you happy - it's just like an old-school Weird Al video, only bigger and better. It's my first big-budget live-action music video in 7 years, and I think it turned out great. We shot it in HD (high definition video - it looks amazing), and at some point in the future we'll be servicing it to video channels that broadcast HD... although ironically, I'm sure most of you will probably just wind up watching it online on a screen the size of a ravioli. But take my word for it, it looks really good.
By the way, a HUGE thank you to all my MySpace friends who answered the call and donated their time and talent to appear in the video. You know who you are. But in case everybody else doesn't know who they are, they're Jon Katz, Michael Bueno, Tom Schuler, Peter Withers, John Reynolds, Jennifer More, Christina Rodriguez, Benjamin Baker, Jason Van Kemseke, George Garcia, Deb Anderson, Christina Malesci, Shawn Avery, Max Gillman, Mikel Browning, Diego Kontarousky, David Stephens and Jack Devries. It was a real joy to meet and work with everybody, not to mention a very successful experiment - imagine, extras that are actually excited about being there!
I could obviously tell you a lot more about the video, but why would I want to ruin any surprises?
I'll let you know as soon as we have a premiere date.
