Another Simple Sunday has crept up on us...
I'm glad to see you all again!
I'm your hostess, Sevenamagenta
This week, we find ourselves on the second leg of our international tour. We're stopping by The Phillipines to imbibe some asian flavor with a staple artist AND poet, here at the Corral If you haven't "friended" her yet...you're really missing out on an amazing talent...so click the link and prepare to have your mind blown away!
Miss D has such an amazing grasp on her art (visual and otherwise)... it melts my mind...sublime!
About the artist (by the artist):
"I write, but I am not a writer.
I paint but I am not a painter.
I am one still in search for the meaning of my existence…
I adore the use of language and colors as an
interpretation of my self expression..."
Our Featured Art:
"Mother and Child"
*********As Always********
Be sure to credit the artist for her work, as you would expect to be credited for your original work. Let's keep the mutual respect flowing...
Please try, as best you can, to leave comments for your fellow poets...support goes a long way!
Here's a bilingual set (one piece...2 versions) to get you started
(English & Tagalog)
and the Tagalog (Filipino) version:
Leave us a kudo if you're feeling froggy...it let's us know we're doing a good job!
Now, take in the beauty of D's art and
let the creativity flow!!!!!

I recently rediscovered a silly poem I had written months or even years ago on a small piece of notepaper and forgotten about on my desk. The way my desk is marshalled, which is to say it is not marshalled very often, later papers got strewn over it until it disappeared under layers of other detritis.
When I wrote it, it was an exercise in what might be called called "creative rhyming." It was a poem written mainly to amuse, in which a main part of the amusement was rhymes created out of nonexistent words or words which are changed so they will rhyme. It's just one type of wordplay, and I LOVE wordplay.
Here it is. You will not wonder why I never posted it on my own blog LOL:
I once had a funky uncle By the name of Art Garfunkle. Art Garfunkle had bad carbuncle; And his feet, they really stunkle. Women thought he was a hunkle. Men considered him a punkle.
From high school out he flunkled Art entered monastery, got monkled. With other friars he was bunkled. But because his feet stunkled, They carried him to a lake, where he was dunkled, To remove his stinky gunkle. Which, miraculously, cured his carbuncle!
Today that lake, it is a shrine. The sick and crippled lakeside line, Immerse themselves, and they feel fine. Then they go out and wine and dine My funky uncle, Saint Art Garfunkle.

So how about it - the Friday Fling challenge this week, perhaps under the influence of some consciousness-altering ingestion, is to write a poem of short to moderate length in which one or more rhymes are MADE to fit.
Topic? How about following the above example and writing about something or someone unusual that you have encountered? Could be a friend or relative, or a stranger that you observed, or a weird or puzzling event, or even something or someone entirely made up like mine. Anything that you think others might find amusing.
Time again to unwind, let your poetic hair down, kick back with your favorite beverage and write something that amuses you and hopefully others! Be creative and have some Friggin' Fabulous Friday Fun!
When you're done, be sure to read and comment amusingly on your fellow Pals' writes. They want you to confirm their goofiness, too! And then go off and enjoy a Wicky Wacky Weekend! -Bob/Scotorum

~~~ The Voice ~~~
Lyrics from the Celtic Woman
I hear your voice on the wind And I hear you call out my name
"Listen, my child," you say to me "I am the voice of your history Be not afraid, come follow me Answer my call, and I'll set you free"
I am the voice in the wind and the pouring rain I am the voice of your hunger and pain I am the voice that always is calling you I am the voice, I will remain
I am the voice in the fields when the summer's gone The dance of the leaves when the autumn winds blow Ne'er do I sleep throughout all the cold winter long I am the force that in springtime will grow
[ Celtic Woman Lyrics are found on www.songlyrics.com ]
I am the voice of the past that will always be Filled with my sorrow and blood in my fields I am the voice of the future, bring me your peace Bring me your peace, and my wounds, they will heal
I am the voice in the wind and the pouring rain I am the voice of your hunger and pain I am the voice that always is calling you I am the voice
I am the voice of the past that will always be I am the voice of your hunger and pain I am the voice of the future I am the voice, I am the voice I am the voice, I am the voice.
I am so happy to be here with you today and I hope that we can all have a great time talking about the voice of our emotions.
Today, I would like to talk about your voice and what you have to say. Sometimes we get to caught up in our lives listening to everyone else there is no one left to listen to us and our problems or what we have to say weather someone understands it or not. How do you feel when you are not understood and you think that their is no one that understands what you have to say? I challenge you, to used the lyrics above to express your voice or your emotions to enlighten your hearts and your souls today.
Hello Cheryl's Pals!!!! I so have some exciting news!!!
I dialed into the Speakeasy's Re-verse show last Sunday and discovered a great venue to present the Saturday Share Wow poem selections!!!!
The Re-Verse show is held every other Sunday at 3pm Eastern time. This show is designed for folks to come and read SOMEONE elses poetry!!!!
I discovered this quite by accident, so I was not able to notify last Saturday's Wow poem recipiants that I read their poems there........(its recorded though LOL)
But I will tell you that in future I'ma gonna be calling in with the Wow poems given between the Re-Verse shows.
So far I have gotten Jon and Sevena to agree to call in and help me present the Share Wow Poem selections. Since there will be four (4) that can be read on any given show I hope I can recruite another (or several other) reader(s)!!!!
This will also force me to be more proactive in Wow poem notifications LMAO
So, the way Blog Talk Radio (BTR) works is you can sign up for a free account, listen to the show using your computer and if you want to read....dial in, to participate. There is also a chatt room on-line and folks love to socialize n'cut up while lisiting to the show too!!!
If you don't already have a BTR account, I urge you to join and then make the Speakeasy (an every Thursday show) and Re-Verse (an every other Sunday show) two of your fave's on your BTR list!!! I dial in to the Speakeasy on Thursday whenever possible!!! I would so love to hear you share some of your CPCCC work when I am there. Or dial in on Reverse and share a fave CPCCC poets work - either would be AWESOME!!!! Oh and say Lady Cheryl Sent you!!! LMAO Plug the CPCCC!!! They love us there
So on Sunday 15 November 2009 go to or call in to:
And on every Thursdays at 7pm Eastern go to or dial in at:
On Thursdays you can dial in and read your own Poetry!!! Oh and plug the CPCCC of course LMAO
Hey every body, it's me Cinnababy
Cinnababy
and it's time for us to officially welcome our latest CPCCC writers
I have a lil challenge for us that I pulled from poetryresoucepage.com and I am using the Word List Exercise.
From the list of 25 random words below, pick ONE word and build a poem around it. The word can be the title of your poem, part of an image,central to a narrative, or just a word in a line. Dally, Linger, Trickle, Flit, Cerulean, Devour, Velvet, Bloom, Crimson, Adept, Delicious, Echo, Dash, Erode, Depraved, Seduce, Wanton, Austere, Tarry, Allure Hollow, Wisp, Rarify, Flicker, Intrinsic
If you cannot come up with a write maybe you could post a small word list of your own .. a list of beautiful/sensual/or poetic words and maybe inspire us to write from that word bank!! *wiggling* I'm really looking forward to this! What I'm REALLY hoping for is that we more than use the words here but maybe play with them .. make them our own .. play with the tense of the word or make up a word .. like wantonlicious in this lil haiku:Theirs was a place for racy
Rarified eyes and
Wantonlicious kissy bliss
*grins*
Please remember to welcome our newest writers .. leave a kudo but most of all ..let's just simply have fun with this month's Meet and Greet! Now I'm off to see what else I can come up with!
Hello and welcome pals and poets to another Magic Monday here at the CPCCC. I hope your Halloween was fun and filled with thrills; that your weekend was worry free, and your week is off to a pleasant, magical start. The new night dawns with a full autumn moon and stars that shine bright as the clear sky heralds a cold night here in New England… I was pondering the beauty of it, even though I dread the coming of winter and the frost, that full moon was glorious. So I would like us to talk about the wonderful things around us… those things that remind us that beauty is only a glance away…
Hours are so dark and gloomy at times that it takes effort to find something worthy of passion… I strive to do it at least once a day, but it isn’t always easy.
As the rain starts to fall and the sun sets earlier and earlier… I feel the darkness of winter closing in and reach for something to remind me of warmth, sunshine, and beauty…
These pictures help; and the sound of children laughing, the crows winging high above, and the creak of the wind in the woods. Reminders of the beauty all around me… all I have to do is see it.
This week I would like to share beauty with you and have you share it with us. Find something you think is beautiful and share it with us, write about beauty as a feeling, something you see, or something you strive for. Let your muse paint us a picture with words and show what beauty means to you.
I look forward to our time together this week and hope that you find something beautiful in your day to make you smile. Recall that blush, that breathless awe, and the wonder that captivates you as you see or experience something… Beautiful.
Please show support and encouragement to your fellow poets by leaving comments and for kudos. Thank you for taking some time in your day to stop and share with us. Let us make some magic with our creativity. Let’s get writing….
Blessings everyone ~Lady Seda~
A Simple Sunday Goes International!!!!!!!
The month of November will be featuring 5 artists from across the globe!
I'm your hostess, Sevenamagenta
For the first leg of our world tour we go to
Canada
About the artist (by the artist):
"Art is but a moment in life... Life is but a moment in time"... Paula van Zyl
I'm a South African living in Canada. This is home to me now and I love every moment of it. My hobby became my work, I'm a artist and do oil paintings and own an art gallery/coffee shop. I have a few pictures of my work on here. I am passionate about all arts, may it be performing arts, music, fine art, sculpting ect. Now if you have read all of this, and you still want to be a friend, by all means send me a request. I do not send out many friend requests and are very selective about who I accept.
"In the arena of human life the honors and rewards fall to those who show their good qualities" Aristotle
Our featured art
"These Hands"
I thought I would lead you all on with a challenge...write a poem in the artist's native language!!!!!!!!!
Since Miss Paula is originally from South Africa....I chose to pen a poem in Afrikaans
I've done my best to learn to read Afrikaans this week, so bear with me:
And now the english version:
****************As Always**************
Make sure to credit the artist for their work, as you would expect to be creditted for your own original work. I sign of mutual respect we encourage here at the CPCCC. Let's keep it going.
Please do your best to leave comments for the artist and your fellow poets...it is a simple token of kindness that can be the only smile in someone's day....
Leave us a kudo if you could be so kind! It lets us know that you were here and that you think we're doing a good job!
Follow your muse and let the poetry flow!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
