Sam, my boyfriend of 3 1/2 years asked me to marry him!  He did it in such a romantic, thoughtful way too!  Since Halloween is my favorite holiday, he carved "Will you marry me" into pumpkins, lit them and then took me around the back of the house to show me.  When I saw them, I turned around, and he was on his knee.

I am so completely happy!

I was bored, so I thought I would post a blog. It's almost time for the school year to start. That means that work will start getting crazy again. All the students will be coming back, and bringing chaos with them. I've enjoyed the summer, even though I didn't get nearly as much done as I wanted to. I hate when that happens. Hmmm...I just got back from New York City. It was pretty cool. I went there for the International Ticketing Association's summer conference. I learned a ton of stuff from tons of people who run box offices on Broadway! It was interesting to hear that they have the same issues/quirks that our little box office in Ann Arbor does (funky customers, mean customers, crazy promoters). Sam was able to come with me, and after the conference was done each day, we were able to do some sight-seeing (not a whole lot since we were only there for 3 days, and most of it was spent in auditoriums at NYU). It was really fun to take a vacation (God knows I needed it!), see New York City, stay in an awesome hotel (they had the most amazing breakfast), and to do it all with Sammy! I would love to go on another vacation. I don't think I'm gooing to get a chance for another one this summer. Well, that's all I can come up with right now...

Alright!

Can I just tell you how much Ann Arbor people suck?  They do!  A lot!

Sam and I went to Kroger because we wanted to buy stuff to make a cake.  We pulled into the parking lot and were driving down the main road part of the lot looking for a row of spaced to go down.  I got to the row that we usually park at and turned my blinker on to go left.  There was a huge like Escalade or something coming at me, and since i didn't want to be crushed to bits in my rio, I stopped to wait for him to pass.  He was taking a long time to get there, longer than I thought it would, but still, I waited.  The next thing I know, there is this little blue like focus wagon passing me, and going in between me and the oncoming Escalade, almost hitting us both.  I honk my horn, the escalade honked his, Sam and I yelled some expletives, and then it was over.

I pulled into the space, and get out of my car to go into the store.  The blue guy circles around the parking lot and comes up behind me and yells "What the fuck was that?"  I was so freaking mad I just started yelling at him, telling him that I'd like to ask him the same question, and that I was waiting for a car to turn left and that he almost hit both of us.  He told me that I shouldn't be driving a piece of shit korean car and that I should support Michigan.  So I called him a communist. He drove away, Sam threw his keys at him.

What kind of insult is "Support Michigan"???

Of course after it was all over, I started thinking about all the things that I should have said.  That always makes me madder than the original incident.

But anyways that was that.

Now for the birds.  There is a funny story about this that I need to tell, just cuz it's funny.  When i first got my license I used to slow down and honk my horn when there were birds in the street so that I wouldn't hit them.  One day my brother was like, I have never seen a bird not fly out of the way, you don't have to slow down for them or honk your horn.  So, soon after he told me that, there was this beautiful bright red cardinal in the middle of the road.  I decided that I wasn't going to slow down or honk my horn.  I didn't.  And I ran that mother trucker right over, a cloud of red feathers exploding out behind me like a volcanic explosion.  I have honked and slowed everytime since then.

So, back to present day.  I was on my way to church, and saw two birds in the road.  They were doing that fake fighting thing that birds do, where they look like a little ball of bird fluff.  Since they were already flitting around and stuff, I didn't think that it was necessary to slow down and honk.  I didn't.  I ran over one of them and the other flew up over my car.  For some strage reason, when the bird went up over my car, hitting the windshield along the way, I found it necessary to duck for cover and scream like a little girl.

When the incident was over, I, of course, looked around to see if anyone saw me, but, it being a Sunday morning, there weren't many people out and about.

So those are my interesting stories

Damn I wish I had thought of something better to say to that guy...What would you have said???

I hate my blogging self.  I am terrible at it, but I never really have time, and if i do have time, then I'm too lazy to do it.

Ok, so let me think of things that I need to talk about.  I'm still working at the U of M, and I love it still.  It can be stressful sometimes, but all in all, it is definately better than cashiering!

Sammy, my boyfriend gave me a ring. He bought it for my birthday!  I love him so much. I tried to put a picture of it in here, but I don't know how.and nothing i did worked.

Also, I bought a new car!  A brand spanking new car!  I bought a 2007 Kia Rio.  It is the cutest, nicest car ever!  It is perfect for me and Sam!

Well, I guess that's all for right now.  Those are the big things in my life right now.  Well, that and taking my sister to Cheli's tomorrow!  I'll probably have to blog about something that happens with that!

I am a horrible blogger.

Let me tell you a story! Sam's mom, little brother, and big sister came over to our apartment last weekend, because their dog got fleas and they had to bug-blast the house. They came to stay so they wouldn't die in the horrible fumes. While they were here, Sam's mom took us out to get some Subway. As we were walking out to the car, I heard a thud. I turned around and saw some stray leaves falling to the ground like something had just fallen out of the tree. Connor, Sam's little brother, also heard it and turned around. All of a sudden he shouted "Hey look at that squirrel!" The freaking squirrel fell out of the damn tree. The squirrel looked alright, so we all started laughing.

Later on, Connor went out on out patio, and he let my baby, Mitzi, go out there too. Suddenly, the cat started chasing something around the patio. It was a squirrel (turns out, the same one that fell out of the tree). I put Mitzi back inside so that she would hurt herself or the squirrel. The squirrel was so tame (probably cuz it just got its brain shaken up from the fall out of the tree) that he came right up to Connor and started eating bread out of his hand! LOL. The squirrel actually let Connor pet it until it went to sleep.

After a while of visiting, they decided that the house was probably cleared out, and they left. The next morning I went outside to see if the squirrel was still there. He was there alright, but he was DEAD!!!! I was so sad. Connor's mom and I decided that Connor should never know about the squirrel, seeing as how he had named it Bucky and everything!

I just decorated the house for Halloween! I am so excited. It's my favorite holiday! I don't know if I will be able to dress up this year. At my old job at Ric's, we were allowed to dress up and stuff. This year, though, with my new job, I'm not sure if we are able to. Alright enough boring stuff for now. PEACE!! LOL

Ok, so here's the low-down.

I'm still loving my new job!  I like everyone that I have to work with, plus i get all the cushy benefits of working for the U of M.

I just moved to Ann Arbor with my boyfriend.  It's a great place, with a couple of pools, and we even have our own patio that I just spruced up with some plants from my mom.
Click here to check it out!

Sam and I will celebrate our one year anniversary tomorrow.
He did the most romantic, wonderful thing for me yesterday.  I had been with my family the whole day, and when I got home, I walked in the living room and there was a trail of lilacs into the bedroom.  I went in and laying on the bed surrounded in lilacs was a brand new guitar!  I was so happy. It's something that I've wanted for a really long time, but never really told anyone.  I'm so excited to start learning how to play!

Anyway, i gotta go now, I'll update as soon as i can. but no guarantees!

So, I just finished my first week at my new job!!!! I was really nervous at first, because I didn't know anyone, and I was afraid that I wasn't prepared...but all in all, it was a great week of work.  There is so much stuff to remember but I can handle it, and my supervisors are so awesome.  They joke around and are so laid back, I never knew that a job like this could be so great, and laid back...granted, it can still be stressful because there are so many things that need to get done at the same time, but that makes it exciting.  Plus, how can you go wrong working 8-5, Monday through Friday??????  I get every weekend off, plus a completely set schedule?????  Amazing.

I do have to give props to some people though...If my Mom, and my boyfriend hadn't been on my back so much about getting my ass in gear...I never would have gotten a job at all.  Thank you mom and Sam, I know that I was totally a bitch when the job-hunt thing came up, but I really appreciate it now, and all along.  I needed those swift kicks in the ass!!!

After a long and arduous search, I have finally found the perfect job at which to start my accounting career!!!!!  After a great interview with some great people at the University of Michigan, I have been hired as a cash accountant in the SOAS/Cash Office at the Michigan Union on State St.

This is the best thing I could hope for.  There is so much room for growth there, I could spend the rest of my career there!!!!  I couldn't ask for anything better, this is an amazing opportunity for me, and I am extremely thankful.

Holy Crap!  My sister and I went to the mall the other day, and we saw some of the craziest things ever.

Weird thing #1:  We walked into the mall and there is a small sitting area with just some easy chairs, and there were people sitting in them, one of which was this nasty looking old lady.  The thing that caught my eye was the fact that she was wearing a shorter skirt and I could see RIGHT UP IT!  I looked at Cat and I gagged!  Yes she was wearing underwear, but does it really matter, it's just as gross!

Weird thing #2:  We walked through the mall, neither of us had any money, we were just looking at stuff, and we kept passing this girl.  Let me describe her.  She was about 4 feet tall, skinny as a rail, she had short hair that was like a mushroom cut dyed black, she was wearing black tights, black skirt/shorts I couldn't really tell what they were, black shirt, black trench coat, and black shoes..oh yeah and she had braces.  We saw her all over the mall.  It seemed like everytime we turned around she was there.

Weird thing #3:  We were at Claire's and we had seen a group of girls at several stores that we had been in, and they were completely obnoxious, really loud, and stupid acting.  We were getting ready to leave Claire's and a security guard came in, and talked to the manager, cat and I stayed outside and watched through the windows to see what happened.  Then the security guard asked them to leave, and the one girl that was the loudest, started yelling stuff like "bitch, i didn't steal anything bitch, i'll steal whatever i want though bitch."

Weird thing #4: We decided that it was time to leave so we were walking toward the same door that we came in, and who did we see, sitting in a different chair though????  The lady with the skirt from weird  thing #1.  But this time, I looked at her face cuz I was afraid to look any lower.  Her face was covered in a disgusting beard.  OH MY GOD!  It was so flippin disgusting.

Weird thing #5:  We were walking out to the car to leave, and we heard  a girl yelling "bitch" and stuff, and Cat and I thought that it was the girl from Claire's so we hurried to the car, cuz we thought that she had seen us watching through the windows and was gonna beat us down or something LOL. But it just ended up to be someone else!

Weird thing #6:  We had just gotten onto I-94 to head home, and we were just driving along, when a semi-truck started passing us.  He was just about even with us, when he put on his blinker and started merging over into my lane.  Cat and I started screaming bloody murder and all of a sudden the trucker turned his blinker off, and got back over in his own lane!

THE WORST THING OF ALL: Weird thing #7:  My sister and I had to go to Meijer, cuz my mom wanted us to pick up some softener salt and a head of lettuce (?) and when we were driving home after that down Jackson road, we saw alot of smoke.  I thought it was  a  fire or something, but Cat said it smelled like B-B-Q.  So I was joking around and I put my window down to smell it, but when I looked to where the smoke was coming from I saw a little tiny smoke stack, emitting really thick smoke.  All of a sudden it dawned on me.  "OH SHIT I KNOW WHAT THAT IS, PUT UP YOUR WINDOW, PUT UP YOUR WINDOW"  It was smoke from the CREMATORIUM.  My brother had told me stories about it before, but I didn't think he was telling me the truth, I didn't think they used it anymore cuz I had never seen smoke from it before, but I did that night.  Both Cat and I were so disturbed.  Catherine said that she felt really dirty, and I asked her if maybe we should pray or something.  It was gross.

So that was our night.  I think I'm going to stay away from the mall for a while.
